I feel my bmr @ 1490 is a bit high (since on my worst pre mfp day's i'd easily hit 2000) so I try to always stay under 1400 on days i do not work out (which is usually just sunday) Just makes me feel better to know that i'm burning the most i can on the day i only get off the couch…

  • I've been logging treadmill/elliptical by itself, and the strength training by itself..... but now i'll log strength training as circuit training so that MFP will log calories burned. Good Luck on your first gym workout!
  • I would think that on the days you don't work out, the only way you'll still lose weight is if you stay BELOW your BMR. And MFP should have told you what that is. Hope this helps.
  • I think since MFP gives your numbers based on Mon-Sunday and Sunday 9-4, they want to start tomorrow so your "first week" will end on 9-4. Then every sunday after that:)
  • Thanks all! This is what I figured, but I so often hear that skipping meals is bad, etc...... Glad to hear it's ok once in a while:)
  • I'm seriously to the point of asking my gym to put a ban on perfumes/colonges, I am an allergic asthmic and can't tell you how many time's i've had to move from my elliptical/treadmill due to some "smelly" woman sending me into a coughing fit. There's a time and place for that and the gym ain't it.
  • AWESOME! There are a pair of "ladies" at my gym I run into every monday and they are the same way! 5 reps, then chit chat, and repeat. It works my last nerve becuase they are taking up the weights and not even really useing them! And can we also talk about the women who show up in full make up, hair done and smelling like…
  • 169 and 5'1"... I'll help all i can, feel free to friend me:)
  • Whichever one you're more willing to do:) Of Course on the treadmill it's better to up the incline to at least 1% (less than this is equal to running slightly downhill when outside) I have to run on the treadmill in the summer months (where i live the weather wracks HELL on my asthma), but in the fall and winter I love to…
  • interesting...... i'll have to try this.... and i have to say, i do enjoy getting low estimate of calories burned, I figure if it says 500 and i actually burned more, i'll be able to stay WAY below on my calorie intake (since this site gives back calories burned, i'd rather not eat back every calorie burned).
  • I'm wondering about this also, I want every calorie burned to show up! I do 2 circuits of the arm and leg machines at the gym, 12 reps on arms and 15 on legs with no idea of what 's being burned....... i love my cardio, but I don't love it enough to spend 60mins on it:)
  • I'd like to give it a try:) my question though is: how can we figure out how many calories are burned with strength training?
  • Thats AWESOME! and i do love a discount:) Keep up the good work, heck at 10% a month you'll be where you want to be in less that 9mths!
  • YAY! CONGRATS! I'll be keeping you and your little one in my thoughts. I know that once your precious baby is here you'll jump right back on track and kick that Shred's butt:)
  • i'm not sure what 'eating clean' is, but i'm interested to learn. feel free to add me (i'm so active on here it's not funny, i'm a bit ocd)
  • I need to get a "sewing kit" tape measure tomorrow, right now all I have is the capentry one my husband uses:) and you're right, I will be glad I have those pics, kinda as a reminder of what i don't want to be. (my boys are 4 and 6)
  • MFP says I should only get 40 (g?) a day, and I go way over that. I'm good at keeping my cards in check and my fat and calories. I was just wanting to make sure I wouldn't cause some "dietary/intestional" issue:) Thanks for all the advice!
  • Is he feeling insecure? Being that he is "morbidly obese" is he concerned he may eventually lose his "hot skinny" wife to someone else? maybe he has some feelings he needs to acknowledge and talk about. as for the mother in law, has she at any point lost a lot of weight then gained it all back? It's been my experience that…
  • THANKS SO MUCH! and I shall tell my body to go "chew the fat"....... as soon as i'm alone of course, my husband may become concerned if he finds me talking to fat roll:)
  • ok, so I didn't hit 300, but I got in 70 and for me that's a small miracle (since my upper body strength has yet to be found)...... So, 70 today, 100 tomorrow:)
  • Thanks for all the advice! I'm eating eggs for breakfast w/ a little card, tuna for lunch w/ a little card, 2%cheese sticks for snacks, I seem to go over my "target" protein intake every day. and I swear i'm drinking enough water to drown a whale:) I'm sure it will get better once my body gets used to the way i'm eating…
  • my boys were both 9lbs also, and my "baby" is 4 and 1/2 so there's no longer an excuse. I had to take these today, because like you, I've always hidden behind something. After seeing everyone post their before picks I knew I had to take some and put them up so that in a few months, when i'm discouraged and want to eat my…
  • I don't eat past 730 (go to bed between 1030/1130) but that's only because i'll get TERRIBLE heartburn. I say eat until whenever, as long as you are at or below calorie count and see how your system handles it, eventually you'll figure out how late is too late for you:) GOOD LUCK
  • put your workout gear on AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! this always gets me in gear...... trust me, you don't want to wrestle your sports bra on, and not work out..... that sucker is going to be hard to get off regardless so it might as well be worth the effort:)
  • That's AWESOME! and i especially like that you actually have the same fish:) CONGRATS ps. love the "before"shirt
  • Already hit 50! YAY:) I'm doing them w/ my excersise ball, and breaking them up.
  • I just usually stay BEHIND the camera:happy:
