Lots of aches and pains on the 12 miler, actually had to call it about a hundred feet short because of pain on the 'good'…

Good news..nothing major. I was out of alignment and my shins were twisted too. He straightened me out and now the pain is 99% gone. I'm resting and icing today and will play it by ear. If it's bothering me at all Sunday, I'm going to take it easy. Thanks!

10/2 - 4.16 miles 10/3 - 6.22 miles 10/5 - 3 miles 10/7 - 3.23 miles I'm starting to get a weird pain under my kneecap (kind of on the lower outside) when I first start running, or even just walking around barefoot if my leg twists a little. Goes away after a quarter of a mile or so, and actually feels great after I'm…

Here's what I do to keep myself from eating stuff out at work- I imagine people with not-so-good hygiene or really bad runny noses sticking their yucky hands on the food...looking for that perfect candy bar, rummaging around in the bowl of M&M's, whatever. It's usually a lot easier to resist then :) Silly mind tricks, but…

This is what I do. I have 3 young boys, and both my husband and I work full time. All of mine are in sports, so every night (except fridays) we are running someone somewhere....some days dividing and conquering. You definitely have your hands full - I hope you can find something that works for you!

@Stoshew71 - THANK YOU!!! I've been travelling for work, so I apologize for not posting sooner. I tried running with your loose change theory (I just named that...and giggled my entire run) and it felt better to run that way. Definitely felt my glutes engaging more, which is what my PT had told me was the problem. The…

@Stoshew71 - I hope you don't mind if I pick your brain a little bit :) Now that IT issues seem to be behind me, I'm back to training for a 1/2 in october. Since I don't want to get hurt again, I'm trying to run my long runs a little slower. I used the McMillan calculator and it predicted my race pace at 9:55 for the half…

Agree with the 'it never stops sucking'. There are days I bounce out of bed, but most days I groan. I repeat to myself that "I get more complements for working out than sleeping in", and then I just do it. I know I won't want to work out after the kids go to bed, so 5am it is.

Goal: 40 miles 8/4 - 3.66 miles. Darn ITB bothered me around 3. I thought I was over this. 8/6 - 4.33 miles. No ITB pain, but slowed WAY down. Cautiously optimistic :) 8/10 - 4.53 miles. No pain again! Still very slow, but slow running is still running :) 8/12 - 3 miles. Taking it easy so I can start adding long runs on…
