This is what I did. Everything fell into place gradually after that. Good luck!

My husband does the same. It really wasn't realistic for me to cut it out completely, so I just made myself measure out the portion that fit into my calories for the day. At first he made fun of me for measuring it out, but when he saw I was serious the junk food slowly stopped showing up as frequently. And once the pounds…

You just make yourself do it. Even when it's not pretty, I make myself put down every morsel.

YES! I can always tell when my period is getting close because I get so hungry the week before.

tried 2 pounds a week, was miserable. switched to 1 pound a week - much happier. Consistently losing .5-1 pound a week as expected, and am loving life. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything, not hungry all the time. I think I'm developing a much healthier relationship with food. And after a few months, even .5…

I'm inspired by your story! I've been waffling over the same thing for the past 6 months. I'd really like to lift heavy, but I'm so intimidated. Way to go!

I bought a fitbit one in may, and am very happy with it. It's very accurate and discreet. It's functionality with MFP really sold me on it.

Sent you a friend request! I'm a mom of 3 also working on losing the baby weight. We'll get there!

Mine has slowed down to about .5 pounds per week. I am eating the same amount as you, but I don't work out as much as you. I think that my net calories are still about 1200 (After exercise is subtracted). Are you eating enough for the amount you work out? If so, then be patient :) keep doing what you are doing and…

I don't log any step-based exercise on MFP. Just let Fitbit do it's thing.

In the same boat as you (work full time, three little kids, husband works late). Did the same thing today, did it before. It always takes me some time to get back to good habits, but eventually I get there!

I don't like to do cardio at lunch because then I'm all sweaty and red faced the rest of the day, so I typically have been doing cardio at night after the kids go to bed. I will look at doing more bw at home before my cardio though. Maybe then 20 mins at the gym at lunch, then another 10 mins before my cardio at night…

Another vote for the old navy sports bras

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to try the split upper/lower body days and check out nerd fitness for the weekend. Kids might get a kick out of working out with me. One more question (sorry, total newbie) - how many sets? Someone mentioned 12-15 reps, should I do 3 sets each then?

I have huge calves...always have. Even when I was 50 pounds slimmer, my calves were huge. I have very bulky muscles there, and I just can't change that. I've come to accept this (very recently.....). I just can't wear those awesome boots, which sucks, but so be it. I still think people are staring at my huge calves when I…

I agree with this. I do try to eat the things that I know are better choices most of the time. But I wouldn't pass up a Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwich!

This. And drink lots of water :)

I've had a fitbit one for a few weeks now, and I love it. I clip it to my bra and no one knows it's there. It does encourage me to move my butt when I see it's a little low, and I LOVE its integration to MFP :)

Engineer.....and my cube mates love to have SNACK DAY where everyone brings in food to share. It's outta control, and everyone wants you to try their stuff. And I feel ya with the time issues - dual income family here with three little kids...not much time available for working out.

WOW! You are amazing!

Hi there - I'm 5'4" and 165, wearing a size 10-12 depending on the cut. I have a pancake rear, so jeans that sit on my hips are a smaller size than what I need for higher rising jeans or dress pants. Still a large on top, though. That's where I carry most of my weight.
-
I'm 5'4", and my current goal weight is 145-150.

Same situation as you (except with 3 kids). Lunch hour has become my friend when I can. Also, due to an earlier dinner time, I usually have everything done and kids in bed by 9. Then it's not a problem to work out. ((hugs)) Good luck! It's not easy, but will get easier as time goes on!

I do the same thing….I don't have any words of wisdom. Pick yourself up and do better tomorrow, I keep telling myself. Half of me thinks that its related to (in the past) using food as a reward. Not consciously, but still a self conscious sabotage. Don't give up!!!!! You're doing fantastic, and one bad day does not…

I buy myself a new song on iTunes for my iPod every pound I lose.

Very inspiring! Thank you and congratulations to everyone!

I think I fit this bill - whenever I lose a little weight, I'm like, yeah, I look great. And then I see a photo or something that reminds me that I really don't look that great.
-
This pretty much describes my playlist too!

Request sent! I'm 35, and also would like to lose 20 pounds (maybe more).

me too :)
