I was at Walmart today to buy ingredients for my husbands birthday cake. I figured I was going to blow the calories with the cake and dinner. As well, I have absolutely no self-control when there is candy around so I managed to stay away from their sale stuff. I too was proud of myself.

An elephant's heart and a sperm whale's brain. I feel like the wizard of oz!

I think that is so funny! I am going to try to be super careful that day. I joined the Loose 10 pounds for the month of April challenge and I 'd really like to do it. I'm one of those people who can put on a pound or two in a day and then it takes me a week to get them off. I've been at this weight loss journey for over 1…

I guess really the key is to try to measure in the same general spot each time you do measurements. I find it pretty difficult myself.

Hi. I love to walk. I began by walking outside on trails with friends or by myself. When the cooler weather of fall hit, I bought a Leslie Sansone video. I enjoyed that as well. I also use the treadmill quite a lot. That gets boring, but I do it anyhow when I have to. But, then I crank up the music. I have now begun the…

Age. 46 weight: 158.1 Chest 35.5 waist 34.5 hips 42.5 thigh 24 arm 14 neck 13.5 total 164 inches. Does anyone else have a difficult…

DOn't give up and don't get discouraged!!! I started my weight loss journey by doing a biggest looser sort of competition. Infact, I did the 10 week class/competition 3 times in a row and didnt' win at all. But, it got me started. I began at 216 pounds (i'm 5'1''). I am now 158 or so. I had wanted to drop the weight very…

I have a protein shake most mornings. I always add frozen fruit. But, now I think I'm going to try the cucumber and spinach with it. Well, maybe I'll start with the cuke and add the spinach another day!

I was the same as many people responding. I hated the thought of exercise. Then, I started walking. FOund I liked it. Started picking up my speed. Boughta Leslie Sansone video. And found I liked that. I have tried bootcamp as well. Really liked that. Now I am doing Jilliian. Like that too. Tried zumba on the wii and just…

Good job. It's a real motivator when you can see and feel your hard work paying off. Keep it up.

That is a lot of protein. I had been told that with exercise, I should strive for 75 to 100 grams of protein. 100+ would be for larger men who exercise.

Ok. I have been so unmotivated this morning to exercise. But, then I began to read these posts and have laughed and related to so many of them. Thank you all for giving me the motivation I needed today to know that I am about to work hard!!

I burned over 800 calories and ate back only a small portion of my exercise calories. I'm going to assume the reason the scale did not budge is that the fat is turning into muscle. I think I need to start upping my calorie intake because I'm burning a lot each day and not seeing much change.

My husband used to have do Weight Watchers and he found that the evenings were the toughest for him. So, he would budget his points so that he would have plenty then. Breakfasts and lunches were super light, peanut butter toast for bfast and chicken noodle soup and a piece of fruit for lunch, that light. Then he knew he…

I've done two days on level 3. Oh, those jumps are pretty hard for me. I can handle the planks and traveling push-ups much better than I can jump. I'm not sure I going to see much change in the measurements though.

I gained weight for the same reasons. Dating and marrying a man who is much bigger than me. Unfortunately, not only was I trying to keep up with a 6 foot man, but a man who is an overeater as well. My weight just kept piling on. I wish he would now want to follow my lead and try to eat gain a healthier lifestyle by…

I think I have done 7 days of level 2. The difficult part for me is the strength exercise which is done at the same time as the military lift things. Those I can do just fine, although I do have to put my foot down for balance sometimes. I just cant do the squat and raise my arms at the same time. I don't know how they…

Good job on all of the hard work.

I met a man several years ago who was diagnosed with early Alzheimers. He retired from his job, went off traveling with his wife for several months and came back into the store where I worked. He told me then that his doctor had said the Alzheimers symptoms were completely gone. I have no idea what changes he made in his…

Great job on the walking and the interviews!! And the sushi really sounds like much more of a treat to me than cookies or cupcakes.

I like the comparison of spending calories and spending money.

Incredible work!! I can imagine the scene in the laundry room. What joy you must have felt!!

awe, thanks so much. You made the right decision too. Keep up the good work.

GOod for you.

While making my son's lunch, I ate one slice of deli turkey. All I can taste 10 minutes later is salt!! Definitely staying away from coldcuts is a good idea to lower sodium.

I started each of my pregnancies overweight or obese. Because of that and watching my sister gain 40-50 pounds with each of her pregnancies, I was determined I would not gain much. When I was 6 months pregnant with my second, I began a weight loss class. I learned so much about nutrition and portion control. A few weeks…

I use the wii fit as my scale. IT is very consistent where as I found my cheapy bathroom scale to be inconsistent. I guess each scale is calibrated a bit differently, so just stick with one which you know doesn't fluctuate. When I used the bathroom scale, I would get on it three times in just as many seconds and get three…
