Really depends on the person. Time & strength training help, but if you don't have very elastic skin (I don't) it won't ever completely go away...

I weigh my food. Even after weighing stuff for two months it s still difficult to tell what 1oz of chips looks like especially since they come in different sizes. And I doubt I will EVER be able to look at ice cream and tell if it is 1/2 cup. I used to use a measuring cup, but it is easier to just set the bowl on the…

I completely agree. That and they are jealous that you are making positive changes in your life!

Nuts and seeds are healthy and a quick way to add some calories if you can concerned about getting to 1200.

I lost almost an inch per week off my waist doing 30 day shred. Some hard core exercise could make a difference in 1 week...

It will take a while for you to adjust. For me it seems easier to exercise inside at first. I don't think the indoor air is any better, but I don't exercise as hard indoors as I do outside. Exercising seems to help with making the adjustment. I wouldn't go all out the first few days or even weeks, but if you never…

It could be food. I looked at your diary and you aren't eating enough calories (according to MFP & science in general). Also eating real food instead of diet/protein shakes might help. I know it is tempting to do way reduced calories at first to get results, but sadly it usually doesn't work out too well. I know I do…

Very nice!

I didn't really measure my upper body but everyone who did 30 day shred with me in October lost a decent amount in inches. You could easily see a difference in 2 weeks...

Dark green leafy vegetables, red meat, seaweed, etc... Pumpkin seeds as well as other seeds. http://www.mckinley.illinois.edu/handouts/dietary_sources_iron.html

Sometimes you get quick weight loss at first, Like on Biggest Loser when they lose a bunch the first week and later it comes off much slower and takes more work.

Comments like this make reading forums more fun. Creepy, but fun.

I was going to say that I don't not keep anything in the house because I don't want to deprive myself and don't have an issue with eating too much. Then I thought about it and realized I only have chips that I like, but I don't crave so I won't eat too many. And the same with my ice cream I have a flavor I like, but can…

The only personality changes I have experienced with weight loss have been in reaction to how other people treat me. I tend to get a little pissy at how much nicer other people (mainly men) are to me when I am thinner so I can be a little hostile/rude. But family & everyone who knows me says I am pretty much the same. Also…

sorry, I meant for dating/hitting on.

I hope you are very short....

My biggest pet peeve is when people ask me how I lost weight and then when I tell them - eating less/healthier and exercising they ignore me and go ask a naturally skinny person how they stay so thin. I just want to yell it's cuz they were born with good metabolism! If what they are doing was gonna work for you, you…

One good way to find friends that you have something in common with is to join a group. There is a group tab in the community section.

Quinoa is the grain with the highest protein. Also you can combine legumes (beans, nuts) with grains to make complete proteins. And there is always dairy & eggs for protein since you aren't being a strict vegetarian. http://nutrition.about.com/od/askyournutritionist/f/protein_combo.htm

What is the McKenna diet?

I count herb tea as water. I think if lemon in water counts then I should be able to count water that had some mint or red raspberry leaves in it for a while as water too! But coffee & juice? No.

Sounds interesting. I'm in as long as the challenges aren't too time consuming - IE 30 min or less.

I would say stevia because it is more natural. Not the best taste, but I always choose natural over chemical. I have an adverse reaction to Splenda, but even if I could eat it, I wouldn't. I have heard truvia (uses stevia) is ok.

I agree. I always go over sugar but it is from fruit and I am still losing weight so I don't stress about it...

As close to, but not over your goal as possible. Some days, for me, this means 10 less and others it is a few hundred depending on how much I exercised.

Great job!

A strawberry that huge would be awesome!

I ignore it as well. I usually have 2 or more pieces of fruit everyday so I easily go over 24.

I am still exercising, it just doesn't seem like I am working as hard as I did with 30ds. I tried to start C25K this week, but where I live I have to be able to do it during daylight hours. So I am rethinking my schedule and will start again next week, or tomorrow.

Welcome! I don't have any exercise buddies where I live but I find that my MFP friends keep me motivated! I would recommend looking in the forums for challenges and see if you can join one. It's a good way to find new friends and exercise "with" other people.
