There's a TON of stuff that has gluten in it. It surprised me when I read up on it- soy sauce, salad dressings, gravies, soups- all of those can potentially have gluten in them! Here's one list of surprising foods: http://www.fitsugar.com/Surprising-Foods-Contain-Gluten-15163537 The best thing to do is read food labels-…

I usually keep a bag of baby carrots in the fridge and my favorite peanut butter with flaxseed (more fiber) in my desk drawer. I only do the two tbsp serving though and usually find it's enough to get me through 3-4.5oz of baby carrots. I also keep kettle korn around- it's salty and sweet and low in calories. A 2 cup…

I'm game! I started doing mostly gluten free foods in the summer time and felt SO much better!! I've let some gluten foods slip back in though lately and I'm definitely feeling the effects. When does the 30 days officially start?! I'm psyched!

Sign i saw during my last half marathon- "smile if you are wearing underpants" Not necessarily running related but it made me laugh.

I came across a brand called Nature's Earthly Choice- it's a delcious mix of red and gold quinoa, amaranth, brown rice, and wild rice. I paired it with some grilled salmon and brussell sprouts today for lunch (and a hint of olive oil)- SOOO tasty! I only boiled it this time, but next time I may toss it in a pan as well to…

I added you. I'm new to clean eating as well :)

This is perfect! I never thought I would be able to gain muscle quicker because of testosterone levels, but it makes sense. I have been doing mostly running and I've noticed over the years that my legs are super strong.... maybe I will start to focus on my back and arms and get those strong too! Great post! Thanks!!

Kanata- best explanation of it! Thank you!

I usually eat back a portion of my burned calories- maybe 20-30% throughout the day and mostly in low-carb, protein, and fiber. The reason being that it does help keep your metabolism going, keeps your insulin levels in check (super important!), and it also helps you rebuild muscle tissue as opposed to losing it (this…

Looks like a lot of us are in the wedding boat! I have a couple of weddings coming up in 2013 and I want to be healthier for them. I've gotten into running over the past two years and am currently a month away from ym second-ever half marathon (my third one will be in february, right before the first friend's wedding!).…

Hi laura, I sent you a request as well! I'm always looking for motivation, as well as giving it! :)

I've been running for almost two years now and I can tell you that the first 6 months are the hardest- mentally and physically. I can't even begin to fathom how much Icy Hot I went through in those months, but it's totally worth it. Once your body gets into the swing of things, you won't be nearly as sore or as stiff…

Congratulations in so many ways! You are truly an inspiration!

TJ's has some good stuff in it, but as mentioned previously, it's mixed in with everything else. Whole Foods has a better selection of GF foods (in my opinion). However, lately I've been able to buy my gluten free bread at Costco. It's the Rudi's and they keep it in with the frozen food. I like it because I get two loaves…

I crave salt as well. (I'm actually just finishing my TOM today- thank goodness!) This one was a little different though. normally, I want nothing but french fries and tater tots. This month I was jonesing for froyo. Which, I suppose is healthier, but odd. I would also be interested to know if there is anything I can take…

Thanks so much for the post! It's good to know lots of different types of brands out there. One of the brands of bread I like is Rudi's multigrain. http://www.rudisglutenfree.com/gluten-free-bread/products/ It stays in the freezer and I toast it. I can usually find it at Costco so I get two loaves at a time, but sometimes…

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 10 years ago. I've been on metformin, which didn't do too much for me and I was also put on low dose BC for a while, but since my mother's side has a history of strokes, they took me off of it. I've yet to find anything that helps the facial/body hair issues for me (even tried laser hair…

I started going gluten free as well and it helped me out immensely. I've never heard of the Dukan Diet though. I may research that one.

I hear ya and I second that. Good luck to everyone. hopefully hear from y'all soon!

I'm excited- I lost another 2 lbs! I'm officially 4lbs away from meeting my first goal (it's taken almost 2 whole years!) Soon, I will be under 200lbs for the first time since I was in high school! Sorry I haven't been here and updating daily how my fruits and veggies were going :( Sometimes work keeps me away from my desk…

Doing good with low carb for the most part since that's how I tend to eat anyway. :) Not so good on tricep dips though. Yuck! I know I need to do them, but I'm not a fan. Keep up the good work everyone!

I second that! I'm right there with you! I was in the local newspaper last year because I wa straining to run a half marathon (13.1 miles) and raising money for the National Stroke Association in honor of my mother who has had 5 strokes in 10 years. A few days after the story was printed, i recieved an anonymous letter in…

Awesome attitude to have! For whatever reason, I totally rocked last week! I lost 4lbs, managed 12 newts (5 days of burning 400+ calories and 7 days of drinks under 50). Plus I had 410 HPs for all of my minutes exercising! Woohoo! I'm pumped for this week's challenges!

Afternoon everyone! Super proud of myself- burned another 700 calories yesterday between a 2 mile run, my work programs, walking, and other various activities. woohoo! Today is kind of a rest day for me. i don't plan on doing too much, other than maybe a short walk. Tomorrow I'm doing another run though.

hello y'all! I managed to get in a pretty decent workout burn yesterday- 442 calories! I played Xbox Kinnect UFC Fighter training and some Kinnect Adventures with my brother and his girl friend. I also got in 7 glasses of water and 1 cup of green tea. Woohoo! I am going to the gym tonight and plan on doing at least 2 miles…

Hello all my fellow Slytherins! Hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday. I kind of fell off the bandwagon over the weekend, not anything too major thankfully. But, today is a new day and a new start- had an apple for breakfast with figs. And now a salad and sandwhich for lunch. Hoping to get in some kind of exercise…
