Did I read something wrong, I thought when I first read this post that we were suppose to try to lose 10 pounds this monrth. But now I see it is only 5 pounds. Did it change, or did I read it wrong originally? I am still going to shoot for the 10 pounds a month. I have a lot of weight to lose so I would like to…

I'm in. Don't know if I can lose that much in a month, especially since we are on Spring Break (I work in a middle school). But it will be a good challenge to keep myself in check this week while out of my regular routine. First my scale victory: I only started MFP recently and lost 11 pounds in 2 weeks and then got bad…

Are you drinking enough water. Sounds like you are working out pretty hard. Make sure you rehydrate. I drink a lot of water and when I have a day that I don't get to drink much water, I get dizzy and light headed. I did have a slight case of vertigo last week but it wasn't diet related. I would try the water first. Also,…

I agree. I don't think you are eating enough. Remember you have to eat enough to fuel your body for the activities you are asking it to do. I wouldn't go below 1100 net calories. It is differently for everyone but I really think 1100-1200 is the least you should be eating. Erin

I have read many things on this and actually Dr. Oz discussed it recently on his tv show. He said it is better to drink cold water because it takes more calories to warm it up. I have read that many times before as well. Erin

I know what you are saying. I did Weight Watchers a few years ago. I was exercising 3 times a day and eating on program. I didn't have a loss 7 weeks in a row. I talked to my leader and she told me to either cut out some of my exercise or eat more. I didn't want to cut out any of my exercising because I was enjoying it. So…

800 calories a day is WAY TO LOW! That is why mfp adds your exercise calories back in. If you continue to eat that few net calories you will put your body in starvation mode. Then your body will hold onto all the calories you eat and your weight loss will store. I have a hard time eating my extra calories from exercise…

Weight Watchers used to tell us that its not what you eat for one meal that determines a loss or gain but 21 meals (3 meals a day for a week). I say chalk it up to a challenging day and move on. You can't change yesterday or what happened but you can move on from it. Its what you do next that really matters. Maybe pre-plan…

I take time each night to decide what I want to eat the next day for the ENTIRE day. Then I will either log it that same night for the next day or take time to log it first thing in the morning BEFORE I ever put a morsel of food in my mouth. I try to never eat anything that I hadn't planned to eat or had already logged.…

When I was doing Weight Watchers this one member just couldn't drink water. Someone suggested that she put ice in and drink from a straw. When you are constantly sipping from a straw, its amazing how much faster the water disappears. So she decided to do it. It only took about 2 weeks before she started really liking water…

I too do breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. I could never eat just 3 times a day. I would be way too hungry in between and when I finally ate I would eat too much. I do much better when I eat more often. It keeps my blood sugar levels more even and keeps me from getting too hungry. When I have a snack during…

I agree. I would say you are not eating nearly enough calories. You probably have your body in starvation mode so everything you are eating your body is storing. If you eat more, you will probably find you will lose more. I know that sounds crazy but back when I was doing Weight Watchers I was exercising like 3 times a day…

Continue to log your food. I would still weigh in once a week, maybe twice. That way if the scale starts creeping up again, you can look over what you had eaten for the past few days. I agree with the others that toning through strength training is important now. Also, continue to exercise to make maintain your wonderful…

My goal is to get more exercise in. I am just starting back so only said I would do exercise 3 days a week for 30 minutes. I already have 45 minutes in today, so off to a good start. Erin

Hello Everyone: I would like to join this group. This my 2nd week weigh in. I lost 3.8 pounds. My total for two weeks is 10.8 pounds (even though mfp shows it as 11). I guess its close enough. I am loving this site. I get excited about logging my food and exercise. I weigh myself 2 or 3 times a week just to keep an eye on…

Don't spend another minute feeling guilty etc... You can't change the past, you can only move forward. I don't know how much weight you want to lose but it can be overwhelming when you are just starting out again. Set small goals. As you reach each one, it will get you excited and motivated to continue on. I started again…

I usually gain around 5 pounds during that time, but it comes right back off after. Just don't ge upset about it, thats normal. Its not a real weight gain. Erin

Thanks everyone. I really don't want to say "the heck with it" just because this is just my 2nd week at mfp. You have given me some good ideas. The venetian chicken sounds good and not too many calories, or trying to be good and either having a lunch portion of something or taking half of it home. I know I am not always…

This is a great site. I just finished my first week here and lost 7 pounds. I did it once before for 3 weeks before the holidays and lost 11 pounds. Its an AWESOME site. You will love it here. Everyone is very friendly and supportive. Welcome, Erin

Thank you for posting your story. WOW! Amazing! Where are you from in the Midwest? I am originally from Wisconsin but live in Virginia now. I really needed to hear your story. I just finished my first week on MFP and lost 7 pounds. I have 110 pounds to lose. I have lost and gained large amounts of weight several times but…

This is my first week at mfp. I started at 251.8. Tomorrow is my first official weigh in. I have been weighing every morning, though just to see how I am doing. As of this morning, I was down 6.6 pounds. I am thrilled to see everyone's great results. It gives me hope that I can do it too. When you are as big as I am (my…
