You'd have to be pretty small and extremely light for 1300 calories to exceed your base metabolic rate, so I think you're safe! If you are close to your goal, then feeling really good about yourself is probably more important than those 100 extra calories!

I'm not aware of any "positive" effects of too much sugar.... Sugar spikes insulin which in turn increases fat production.

I don't think you can have an "energy drink" that is low cal - calories are a measure of energy. If what you need is to keep awake then I always go for the low cal "black coffee"!

How about soups? I'm not a big fan of fruits or veggies, so I bought a soup maker and chuck all the green stuff in there. 30 minutes later I'm getting my 5 a day. I also moved from porridge oats for breakfast to having a smoothie with oats, blueberries, banana and some protein powder. Best tasting breakfast ever.
