  • 34 and 38. I don't regret at all waiting to have children later in life. I had a BLAST in my 20s and was much more patient, not to mention financially secure, when we decided to bring children into our lives. Don't let age scare you. With the 2nd one I was over the dreaded 35 age and they have you meet with a genetic…
  • Your "friend" (I hesitate calling someone who acts like that a true friend) sounds obnoxious and extremely insecure about you succeeding. I am sure as you head off for a healthy life - she is fearful she will be left behind. She needs to walk the walk or keep her unsolicited advice to herself! If you truly need support -…
  • I record my personal training sessions under cardio as circuit training (and I estimate about half the time as there are mini breaks, her demonstrating what exercise I need to do next, etc.). The strength will record weight, reps, etc. which is great to see progress that you've made, but it won't give you calories burned.
  • Feel free to add me. This site has been incredible! I started in Fall and have no desire to look back. My friends are great support and I try to be as well! Best of luck - you are well on your way!
  • Incredible! You look great! WOW!! Good for you!
  • Pressure or Only the Good Die Young.
  • ZonePerfect nutrition bars - the peanut butter one tastes like a candy bar. Not too overboard on calories for most of them too. 190 - 210 range. 1/2 bar for dessert is filling and tastes great!
  • My friends totally motivate me! This site is GREAT!! Feel free to add me if you need some extra support! YOU CAN DO THIS - we are all here for you!
  • I underwrite commercial loans (banking).
  • Welcome! You can do it - believe, believe, believe. So many great blogs, posts, etc. I find daily motivation from this site. You are not alone - we are all in the same boat and are all here for you!
  • You are amazing - and an inspiration!!
  • Have so been there! I had gained about 50 pounds during my early 20s and then lost 60 and maintained for about 3 years. Over the last 13 years, I gained 110 pounds and have yoyo'd for years! If someone would have told me that I would have ever weighed as much I did - no way would that have ever happened. Granted, back…
  • Great work Dawn! Your mindset is truly changing - that will be key for long-term success.
  • Many years ago, I was super nervous as well. Now, I truly think if it is meant to be, it is meant to be. That is not saying don't prepare - always get as prepared as you can. Many great tips mentioned above. I few questions I like to ask of the interviewer(s): What is it that you like best about working for the company?…
  • Always looking for more support myself! Congrats on your progress! Sending request as well...
  • 14 weeks ago, I committed to a 10 week challenge at a local fitness center. The personal trainer gave me the best advice ever: What you eat will determine 80% of your success. He suggested MFP - best advice ever! I am 2 weeks in to the next 10-week challenge and 29 down. I can't thank him enough for recommending this site.…
  • Just read a great article that someone on MFP about eating your exercise calories. http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/why-big-caloric-deficits-and-lots-of-activity-can-hurt-fat-loss.html Check it out. Again, realize it is strange, but I do find the weeks that I eat them, I lose more!
  • Congratulations! That is AMAZING!! You look incredible! I feel it would be odd to offer advise to someone who obviously knows how to do this successfully! If you are strict about the 1,200 daily, try mixing it up and eating 1,400 - 1,500 cals in one day or taking a day off of exercise. Sometimes I find I have a LOT more…
  • While I am really careful about meats, etc., I will eat yogurt up to one month after expiration. Never any problems. As long as it has stayed in the fridge, you should be fine.
  • Men have more muscle mass. If my husband wants to drop 5 pounds he will cut out chips for a week. Totally unfair! Some people are also blessed with better metabolisms. Be happy for him and know that it will not be too long before he will be celebrating you being at goal!
  • Welcome! I am 29 pounds in to my 74 pound weight loss goal and this site has been so motivating. Feel free to add me as well.
  • I put in a friend request for you. Always looking for more support myself. This time of year is hard and I am kind of in a slump too. I have lost 25 and have 49 more to go. This site is great for support! Best of luck - you can do it!
  • The pre-packaged foods are good for portion control and certainly save on time, but be careful of the sodium content in them. Some of them have a ton! Do whatever works with your life - some people have the time to cook, some people don't. I am about 50/50. I do what I can, but some nights I am beat and a Lean Cuisine it…
  • At home, broiled chicken with steamed broccoli or roasted califlower. The roasted califlower is a meal in itself. So good! Broiled pork chops with homemade sweet potato "chips" is great too. I also make a chicken salad with mixed greens, scallions, broccoli slaw (just the slaw mix - no mayo of course), broiled chicken,…
  • Welcome! You can do it! I sent a friend request to you. This site is great! There are a lot of people with the same struggles! We are here to support you!
  • Check the Cooking Light website. There are a few out there. If you make the higher calorie recipe, limit it to one or two tablespoons. You don't need more with the butter! Good luck! http://www.cookinglight.com/food/recipe-finder/
  • Love chewing gum as well. Buy a lot of different flavors. Sometimes we really aren't hungry, we just want to chew out of old habits. I also split one serving of almonds up in half. It is a quick snack, but great protein and fiber. Also, low fat string cheese or an apple does the trick as well.
  • It does work! I have found a ton of motivation on this site on those really hard days when I feel myself slipping back to my old habits. You can do it! Believe it!
  • How long can you really call it baby weight? I asked that very question of my sister (her children are older) and she stated until the last one is in college. Although I could not let another year go by feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed by how out of shape I was. After one child, I was able to bounce back. Now with two…
  • I will add you as well. I have been on MFP for nearly 8 weeks, but I don't have a ton of time between work and home to spend on here. I do try to comment when I can. 16 down - 58 more to go! It is easier with a support system and although my husband has great intentions, he has an unbelievable metabolism and not the best…
