  • I used the beyond the whiteboard app. I really like I can log online or on my phone. My gym posts their workouts there so I can log pretty easily and my box worked something out so we dont have to pay the fee, but I think it's only $1.99 a month anyways.
  • Today was Strength split jerk 5 x 3, I did 73, 83, 93, 103, and 108#. Working on form instead of heavy weight today, both my split and power jerk form leaves something to be desired. The metcon was AMRAP 12 MIN 10 Burpees 25 Double unders I finished 9 rounds + 4 burpees RX
  • Today’s workout combined two of my most hated movements wall balls and toes to bar. Wall balls just suck and I cannot string toes to bar together very well so it’s just a very slow process for me to do any workout that has more than 50 of them. But I’m happy I made myself go and work on what I’m not good at :) Strength-…
  • I go 5 times per week, 3 on 1 off, 2 on 1 off. I also get at least 3 runs in per week of 3-5 miles each time. I double up on two of my crossfit days so I can take at least one full rest day per week. I started with 3 times per week for 8 months, then switched to 4 times a week for another 4 months and started going 5 times…
  • The best quote I have ever heard related to crossfit is “it doesn’t get easier you just get better.” The first time I did Fran I used a 55# bar and the heaviest pull up band. The last time I did Fran I did it as RX’d, both times I was kneeling on the ground with the infamous Fran cough for the next 3 hours. Almost a year…
  • Totally agree with you jofjltncb6- for what it's worth I've run 5 marathons in my quest to qualify and run the Boston marathon, which I did in 2011. The cost was two stress fractures to accomplish this. I've had way more serious and even just little nagging injuries trying to put in 50 miles a week than I have in a year…
  • Yesterday's was rough, but the kind when you are done I surprised myself with the results. Tabata Row (10 cycles instead of 8) for total distance- I managed 1037M then AMRAP 1 min on 1 min off for 20 min (10 total work intervals) As many reps of the bear complex you can do (1 power clean, 1 front squat, 1 push press, 1…
  • Wednesday's this week was a doozy, I'm still walking funny. I never thought there'd be a workout that made me wish we were doing Fran instead :) 100 Thrusters for time (95/65) I made myself do it RX which was a huge victory considering last time we did this in October I only did 45#. Although if my coach hadn't counted out…
  • For doubleunders I bought myself a speed rope and made myself suffer through 100 a day for time each day. The first time I did it, it probably took me almost 5 min. Within two weeks I can now always do 100 in about 60-90 secs depending on how many times I miss. I love Chris Spealler’s double under video he has great tips,…
  • I have the opposite problem as xfitmojo. I can clean and get under the bar just fine, my PR for clean is 138#. I however suck at getting under the bar for anything overhead so my clean and jerk PR is 128#. Sadly my push press PR is also 128# haha, so needless to say my form on the jerk needs a lot of work.
  • I wear the inov-8 230's which I like. I tried the Nano's but my feet are super narrow so my feet just slide around in them. The Inov-8 are just a minimalist shoe which works for most met-cons but they aren't the greatest for any type of heavy lifting so I may need to invest in some Oly shoes at some point.
  • Nice job on the double unders everyone, it must be a theme because I think they have finally clicked for me as well! We also did Annie today, first time as RX in 6:38. I also completed a WOD last Friday that had 300 of them and I did every single one. Sara_M83: 3 min of L-sits sounds intense! Nice job!
  • My second murph, but first time as rx'd in 46:46 (no weight vest). We did the workout today with over 150 people in our gym completing it, such a cool experience to have that many people doing a workout together.

  • Yeah I got health_gal'd about my response to ripped hands...maybe she's now stalking crossfit groups. It seems like such a weird way to spend your time!
  • I just use a gymnastics form of taping my hands when I have rips and still want to do workouts with pullups or TTB. Here is a good video of how to do it, it doesn't make them heal any faster but in my experience it allows me to do the workout withot too much pain or making the rip worse. Here's the video I learned to do it…
  • I don't typically do double WODs, but I will typically do WOD + Run (3-5 miles usually) twice a week, for reference I crossfit 5 times per week. The exception to this is me trying to get much more proficient a double unders when I'm tired and being able to consistently string at least 20-30 together at a time in the middle…
  • We did an interesting workout today that I was still able to PR on my Snatch at 93#, +5# over my previous PR. The workout was: 21-15-9: 6 min time cap, finished in 4:44 • Pullups • Box jumps (20 in) • Situps *3 min rest, then 21-15-9: 7 min time cap, finished in 6:01 • Pullups • Box jumps (20 in) •Situps *1 min rest, then…
  • Lots of PRs this week, maybe the week of vacation did me some good! Power Clean PR of 138#, up 5# Deadlift PR of 243#, up 10# Also did my first C2B pull up in 13.5 and did 13 of them!
  • I crossfit 5 times per week, following the usual 3 on 1 off 2 on 1 off pattern. I also run 2-3 times per week, usually 3-5 miles at a time unless I'm training for a race. I also just try and be active playing coed soccer or playing tennis with my husband on the weekends.
  • Well after the workout was announced I went in Thursday to work on my C2B pull ups as I had never successfully done one. I did the open today and only got to 28 so I may go try again tomorrow. I did the thrusters no problem, and spent 3.5 min trying to do C2B pull ups but only managed 13. It's crazy what a difference that…

  • I did this one visiting a box in Florida while I was on vacation. It was such a cool experience to have people cheering your on who I had literally met 10 min before starting the workout. It reminded me why crossfit is so awesome! The clean and jerk wasn't an issue for me (my max C&J is 128#), TTB however is my nemesis. I…
  • Darkangeleye- I feel your pain, I finished at 11:56 and didn't even pick up my rope! I too am just getting double unders and actaully rattled off 60 unbroken while warming up! Ugh so frustrating!
  • Well 13.3 was an epic disaster for me. After an awesome performance on 13.2 (274 reps), I barely finished wall balls in the 12 min, with over 30+ no reps for hitting right at the 9 ft line instead of above it. Yep that's right I had to throw the ball up there over 180 times to finish the 150! I've never wanted to quick…
  • Did 13.2 this afternoon, my score was 274 (9 rounds + 4 push press). I surprised myself by getting 9 rounds (goal was 8), now I can't decide it I want to go back and do it again tomorrow just to see if 10 is possible. My calves will probably tell me otherwise tomorrow :) Great job everyone!
  • I recently did a 4 week paleo challenge at my box, prior to that i have been about 80% paleo for the last year. I did not see major results until I went strict Paleo for 4 weeks. On top of that I did not lose a ton of weight on the scale, but the before and after pictures I took tell the biggest story. I can honestly say I…
  • I think it means something different for everyone. My rule of thumb I try to avoid food with an ingredients list 95% of the time. This keeps me pretty focused on lean meats, veggies and fruit.
  • This is my first year doing the open, last year I was still in on-ramp class during it. Did the workout yesterday, and scored 150. I had two failed attempts at the 100# bar which would have been a 10# PR for me. It was frustrating because I had two really good pulls but my legs would just not move quick enough to drop…
  • Finally did Fran Rx'd yesterday, took me 6:46 though so lots of room for improvement :) Today was a 30 min amrap of rope climbs and push ups (partition the reps however you want). Needless to say after the last two days my hands are ripped to shreds!

  • Most of the crossfitters I know use stronger faster healthier which is fairly clean grass-fed whey protein, its $40 for 30 servings so a little on the pricier side. My stomach does not tolerate whey protein well so I use Optimum Nutrition Egg white protein. Yes there are chemicals but its better than some I've seen, I…
  • We do it every memorial day as a total gym. My time was 41 min, but I was only about 3 months into crossfit so I scaled with banded pullups and push ups from my knees. I will say it was pretty cool to see about 100 people doing the workout of all different levels, many people scaling all the way up to people doing it…
