^^^ THIS ^^^^ The Cinnamon Roast ones are fabulous, too!

Maybe that's a southern US thing.

I try to eyeball my food and break it down by each component before I dig in. Without measuring tools, you won't be exact so it's best to error on the bigger side of things. For instance, there's a restaurant I go to frequently that has a great fajita salad. Nothing at all similar to it in the database. I figure it has…

I'm increasing mine up to my estimated maintenance for a couple of weeks to see if that will jumpstart me again. Because I don't normally lose weight from week to week, it's hard to tell what my actual loss is over the last month, but with all the exercise I've been doing, it seems like I would have noticed more than I'm…

A few months ago, I had an intense craving for a Five Guys burger and fries. I had been so good with what I ate and had stayed away from fries for several weeks. But I INHALED a bacon cheeseburger and nearly an entire order of cajun fries. And I CRASHED 30 minutes later -- fell asleep on the sofa by 8:30. Ugh, I felt so…

Thank you for your question. I'm getting to the same point soon where I'm going to look very seriously at a fitness center where I can focus on strength exercises on my lunch break and do cardio at night at home. This was a helpful thread because I was really hoping I wouldn't have to fit cardio in on my lunch break, too.

About how long did your battery last before you had to replace it?
-
Ok, I think I'll give the new maintenance TDEE a shot then -- 1356 x 1.3 = 1762. That's effectively the same thing as eating back my 240 exercise calories now.

Yes, I love my HRM! I know they aren't 100% accurate but it has really motivated my exercise in a way that nothing has ever done before. I'm religious about weighing and measuring, although I know there's going to be a margin of error in there somewhere, particularly since I do eat out for lunch or dinner a few times a…

Are those your only choices for starting her off? I've been exercising regularly since Christmas (from not exercising at all) and I'm pretty sure if I started off with 30DS I wouldn't have continued. I found that exercising using a Wii game was more fun and enticing and it slowly got me conditioned to exercising for longer…

I'm 35 and have two kids -- working a 40+ hour desk job and have 13 pounds left to lose.
-
That is unreal! Way to go! You look so proud of yourself!!

It's an inexpensive workout, so I recommend trying it if only to see what your body is able to do just after a few days. It's rather inspiring if not terribly creative. If you're not sure, buy level 1 on Amazon instant streaming for $1.99 and play it on your computer (or TV if you can stream to your TV). If you like it,…

I have learned that I can let a basket full of Godiva goodies sit on my kitchen counter for weeks while I grab peanut butter on toast and a banana as an evening snack. I've learned that just knowng the Godiva goodies are there helps more than actully eating them.

I got one for Christmas and love it. My husband did mess up and order me the men's style, but all that affects is size and color. It fits my wrist fine, and I actually like the more understated black/silver better than the women's color options. I will say that if you don't care as much about fat-burning vs fitness zones,…

My BMR is 1370 according to MFP and 1470 according to other calculators that use a different equation. My normal sedentary daily acitivity comes to a total 1800 calories/day. So 6 months ago to be on the safe side, I custom-set my MFP calorie goal to 1500/day as opposed to the 1300 it wanted me to be on at the time. Was it…

Most excellent! I only track my losses on MFP but I do keep track of my daily weight in another app, and you're right, seeing all the various ups and downs among the overall downward trend helps tremendously! It also helps you learn your own body. Now I know that for two weeks as my body deals with PMS and TOM that losing…

I'm interested in this as well. I re-strained my neck and back muscles recently doing the floor ab work on 30DS and my massage therapist instructed me yesterday to do ab excerices on all fours or standing.

Thanks for posting this -- I need some, too. Looking forward to reading through all the suggestions.

It is such a mind game. As much as I preach to my friends not to live by the scale, it does mess with your mind to work out and eat well and then see it go up a pound when it's not even that TOM. I'm up a pound since starting 30DS, but that apparently is normal from posts I read here. I'll just keep it up, maybe work in…

I'm interested in more responses, too, as I am currently doing 30DS and have my MFP custom set to be a bit more than my BMR. But what I suggest is taking your "weigh this by THIS DATE" off the table. I started off that way, too, thinking it would motivate me, but all it did was frustrate and disappoint me. The important…

Yeah do not buy into the "big results fast" thing. Do it because you enjoy the exercises and want to challenge yourself. Nothing is going to make it just melt off. Gauge your results by increased endurance or flexibility or just ability to do them at all.

Holy smoke! That's a huge difference! Congratulations!!

I use a HRM. For me, it comes in around 220 calories for 27 minutes -- that's incuding the warmup and the stretches. I've done level 1 for 7 days.
-
When I was shopping for an HRM, I read that Timex wasn't accurate on calorie burn because it doesn't take gender into account. As a result it way overestimates calorie burn. I have a Polar FT7, and mine comes to about 400 calories for 40 minutes of Zumba -- understanding there are other factors at play -- my weight is…

Well, learning this today I'm thinking I'll be buying the less expensive meat from now on. That 93/7 stuff is expensive, and if I can get nearly the same result from draining (which I would do anyway) and rinsing (which I used to do a long time ago), then I'll do that.

I read this in a Real Simple article yesterday: http://www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/cooking-tips-techniques/lean-ground-beef-00100000072743/index.html "Go with ground chuck, which is typically only 80 or 85 percent lean. And don’t worry about the extra fat, says Kamozawa: “A lot of it drains off during cooking—as much…

This is a good suggestion! I did the Indian buffet once and someone here suggested quick adding 800 calories and moving on. But the suggestion above is good. Make yourself an omelette or something that will be 200-300 calories and start over tomorrow. Today will not derail you regardless of how much you took in.

I am so glad I found this thread. I did level 1 for the 2nd time last night and I HATE that jump rope move. Who would have ever thought that something so small and simple would be so purely evil. I've also found that I'm concentrating so much on my form that I'm not even watching the screen to see if I'm keeping pace with…

MFP put me around 1300 calories starting out, but I quickly overrode that to be 1500 instead. Without exercising, I lost roughly 3 lbs/month. I'm exercising regularly now and expect to see that monthly number go up. I can't judge it on a weekly basis because my TOM messes the numbers up so much for 10-14 days.
