Ooh - I like this idea!

I saw this thread and thought - great! I'll get some ideas for dealing with a knee injury myself. Seems there are three suggestions: walk, swim, bike. *sigh* So many more choices when the knee is working correctly.

^^ This! Success is sexy - great work!!

If good nutritional choices were a wagon, I jumped off last week (and it was lovely - I made homemade rolls, YUM). I've been looking at that wagon for a couple of days now. I tried to just sit on the edge a bit yesterday, but it was too easy to fall off. So today, I've recommitted. Breakfast? Protein and veggies. Snack?…

I'm two weeks into a challenge, focusing on nutrition and exercise. It goes one more week... I think I can, I think I can, I think I can. Here's what we're doing: No carbs, except within an hour of a *strength* workout - 1 cupped hand size (cardio workouts don't allow carbs) Veggies with every feeding opportunity - fist…

Loved this blog today! I'm working to have an outlook more like her when I'm out jogging. Speaking of, my second race ever is this Saturday - a 5k. http://feets.ca/caution-fat-girl-running-ahead-please-avert-your-eyes-if-it-offends-you/

Stay strong, my friend!!

So... report in. What did you do Saturday after you checked in? Hope your day got better!

Hurray! Love those moments!

@ron2e - I sure love your outlook. Congrats on the robe ... I had a similar experience at a recent trip to the spa (it was a reward). Last time I went, the robe provided was barely up to the task of covering the necessary parts. This past time? I didn't worry I was flashing people. I think the fit of the robe at the spa…

It's been a while since I've read that... thanks for the reminder!

Loving the smiles - great work!!

I have a confession... Biggest Loser is why I started my journey! I like being inspired by their stories, and seeing their progress and even their challenges. That's also where I realized that the difference between me and them is they have someone that believes in them (listen to how often the coaches are encouraging and…

LOL - I was changing after work, and had just taken off my dress shoes... should have thought that through, but at the time wasn't planning to post the pics. Those socks have a little plastic-like piece on the heel to keep them from sliding off my foot.

I have a confession... it's terrifying to put pics out! I've been trying to find some motivation to keep going on this journey, and I decided making myself vulnerable would have to be part of it. So thanks for the kind words and encouragement. Your acceptance has made me giddy tonight. Think I'll celebrate by going for a…

Amazing! And thanks for being brave and posting... I came to MFP tonight to find some motivation and decided to look up my starting pic. I'm going to post mine, following your good example!

Y'all have some better nutrition choices in your diary than I do... (Meadow Gold) Viva - Lowfat Cottage Cheese 2% Milkfat, Small Curd Chicken - Breast, meat only, cooked, roasted Prograde - Vanilla Protein Powder Kit Kat - Extra Crispy Carrots - Baby, raw Chocolate wins over veggies.

Welcome Courtney, First? Excellent first move to post something!! I appreciate your honesty, because I know how hard it can be to post about your thoughts and feelings. That's why people start threads like this. I started at 304 pounds, 5'10" and one day I realized it was time to take my future into my own hands.…

My secret? Don't deprive yourself, but do limit quantity. If you're still hungry, go for things that help fill you up (foods high in fiber like fruits and veggies) and help you feel full longer (like lean protein). I try to do my "filler" first. Yesterday was a luncheon at a friend's, I added veggies to my plate, and made…

Nice to see you taking the responses so well - this thread has certainly entertained me!! (BTW - I totally get what you're saying!)

Ugh! Kind of makes you glad to start a new week, doesn't it? Hope your Monday goes well!!

I'm Nat (or dare) and I've lost my first fifty, with about 70 to go. No spouse or children, but a successful career, and extended family. I stuggle feeling like I have to do it all myself, and wish I had a better support group in place. The first 50 have come off surprisingly well. However, now the same old things aren't…

Yum, sushi!! I echo what others have said - just watch what the ingredients are for the rolls, or go with some nice sashimi... now I think I'm going out for sushi tonight. Thanks!

LOVE it! Can't wait to do some of the activities on my list as I get closer to my fitness goals!

Awesome! I'll have to see if we have something locally for the holiday season. I'm not sure I'm up to the dressing up part yet - but you should post a pic after your race!
-
The hardest part? Actually signing up. :) I didn't have anyone to go with, and I've never watched a race, so I didn't know what to expect. I've been thinking about doing a race for about 3 months - just been working up my courage. And then I found about about this race - and it really spoke to me. It was called "Freeze…

**giggle** You mean I'm not the only one that does that? You're right though - no one is noticing your arms!

I'm not a fan of the shakes in a can, so I started making my own. I challenged myself to make one each day for a week to try out different recipes - they're much tastier! I only had one that wasn't very good (the protein powder overpowered the flavor of the shake ingredients). There is a greater variety of flavors, and I…
