  • Would you all mind sharing what type HRM you have and what you like about it? I was going to ask my husband for one for Christmas.. but, there was SOO much information out there.. I gave up. They are not cheap.. so, I didn't want to him to spend money on one until I really knew what I wanted.
  • I LOVE the picture. To me it looks like health and peacefulness. Calming
  • Congratulations to you! Some fantastic accomplishements-- you should be very proud !! :)
  • It is harder at our age. However, when I was younger, I was just thin. Not healthy. I didn't eat right. .. not concentrated excercising (some dancing at the Clubs.. ) but not healthy. So, at this age, while it is more difficult-- I am doing things RIGHT. Things that will help me as I continue to age. And, as I look at…
  • Hardees has the Turkey Burgers--and they are very filling. For me, I just need the sandwich and a drink, and it's enough. Grilled Chicken Sandwich from McD's isn't bad-- I just have them put on Mustard/pickle nothing else-- and I will order the apple slices with it.. no carmel dipping sauce. Those are my "on the go"…
  • Well, I don't think I iam going to say anything different. Honestly. people are super involved in themselves :) So, you just go about your business and don't worry about it. Is there a friend that can go to the gym with you also? Sometimes that is helpful, especially while getting the "lay of the land"-- . Otherwise-- just…
  • Good post. I have worked for the same company for 26 yrs, lots of different positions in the company. Funny thing that I found.. When I was in an hourly job--and my pay was the same no matter what-- I noticed that my coworkers (and I )really used the "sick days" to the max. We were alloted X amt of sick days at full pay.…
  • If you add to this post-- can you also add if your brand tracks calories ? I have an HRM, but it doesn't track the calories. I have gone online and there is SOO much information out there, that it's hard to decide. I do want one that shows the Calories on the watch.. not one that I need to transmit info to computer for info
  • I agree with everyone else on the breakfast thing. Just YOUR first meal of the day. Also, I did hear in an article and on some Dr's show (not Grey's Anatomy! hA!)- that the eating after a certain time thing is garbage. A calorie is a calorie. Lots of snacking is bad-- at any time. Good Luck
  • ** I just ate 1Tbsp of the Pumpkin Butter, still warm , on a piece of toast. OH MY GOSH -- it is super yummy. !!

  • A different idea on the Thanksgiving feast-- and it is another Weight Watcher tip. It was suggested to me to skip the "every day" items. For example-- Mashed Potatoes: can be had any day of the year. Skip em. -Sweet Potatoes: Holidays only, eat some- Corn: every day of the year, skip em - Packaged Rolls- can get them any…
  • welcome! you will like this group :) .. and, I just want to say -- congratulations for joining.! You are starting at a tough time of year... but, keep on plugging away! Anything you can do during the holidays to minimize the weight gain is going to be great! Watch for the recipes, etc. :) Happy Thanksgiving!
  • I started on 1200 calories.. and have 35 pounds to lose. Is 1200 enough? Yes, if you don't excercise that day.. 1200 is enough. Remember, 1200 calories is a "goal" during the weight loss phase. IF you excercise, log your excercise calories.. and EAT them :) It is motivating to say.. "I really want to have an apple for…
  • I update my ticker 1x per week -- my weigh in/document day is Saturday morning. I know if I "goof" during the week, it's on the weekend.. so, this gives me the rest of the week to straighten it out :) I do weigh myself a few times during the week.. But, weighing is always a motivation for me.. if it's up, then I am more…
  • haven't watched for awhile, for some reason I am not interested this season. However, I do have to say.. DVR !! The only way I watch it now is after I DVR it, I can take out the commercials (which I believe come every 8 minutes.. )
  • Spicy Foods. If you eat spicy foods-- you will eat less. I really noticed it when I made Turkey Chili and added extra pepper flakes and chili powder. I absolutely ate less. So.. not a real answer to killing a specific craving.. but, WILL help you during mealtimes. Maybe a good snack is those Wasabi Peas? (Personally, not…
  • One of my MFP buddies just sent me this link. I think it looks very good. He said that they used Turkey instead of beef--and put the chili over some of the "healthy" pasta :) Cincinnati Chili http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/sandra-lee/cincinnati-chili-recipe/index.html So, I have posted 2 recipes, Turkey Chili and…
  • this is probably a silly question.. but I don't eat protein powders. Will it taste the same.. and still be a good consistency without it? It looks delicious!
  • Can you tell me a brand of wraps? I don't know what to look for..
  • seems like you should ask your doctor. they should have some things for you to try. And/Or a pharmacist can recommend OTC things also
  • Hate to be repetitive.. but, I think the 50 pounds is waay too much. You want to learn how to change your lifestyle.. not necessarily a race to the finish. However, I do know that a challenge can be good. Ever think about changing the challenge to - whoever loses the highest % of weight by February? That way .. it puts…
  • @PhilOhio Can you send me a note to my "inbox"-and teach my oh wise one? Thanks sooo much!! Can't wait to see what you send over!
  • Can they be frozen, and then microwaved from the frozen stage? Do you know... ? Sounds so great!
  • I have heard of many cases of folks who were in pain that they could just NOT get rid of... no matter what they tried. And, acupuncture was a last resort. Worked very well for everyone I knew. I think it is a great thing to try!

  • Microwave 1 egg, and sometimes add a little bit of spinach (fresh). Use 1/2 piece of 2% cheese and put it on a multi grain (80 calorie) english muffin. I drink lots of coffee with fat free creamer.. ( I get up super early.. just not a good sleeper). If I have had a high calorie night or I know something high cal is coming…
  • I have been switching it up. Usually get stuck on one thing for a week, and then find something new. I will say that I really like the Boca Chicken Patties (esp the Spicy ones). I put it on a Healthy Choice bun with some banana peppers and mustard. YUM. .. I either eat veggies or a salad with it. ANd, often I will eat some…
  • Ooops. I didn't do a good job of following directions. My name is Cassy, and I live in St Louis, MO (Go Cardinals!). I turn 50 next May. I have 2 sons (17 and 25) , and a step-daughter 14. My husband and I have been married 5yrs... and have the "blended family". He is NOT overweight-- and is 6'4"-- and works outside. So,…
  • I also had low vitamin D. Was put on 50,000 mg per week, for.. oh, I think 6 weeks.. and then every other week for a month. I go to get re-checked in a few months. My body was also not absorbing B12.. so, I get injections right now. Will retest for them both :) Makes a huge difference in my energy level. Not sure if it is…
