  • Ahhh....it is so obvious yet so hard to get out of the way of thinking that fat = bad. I've definitely been using more coconut oil (I have read some great things about it). Need to stock back up on cream for the coffee and real butter (heck, I will just make some from that heavy cream). Thanks for the feedback. This is…
  • I also have PCOS and the doc suggested I go low carb and then start on Metformin. I am doing ok getting below 50 carbs a day (is that total or net? I have been going by total) and ketostix do show ketosis. Where is struggle is the fat/protein ratio. I find myself eating less fat than I should. What should I be eating to…
  • Hi sb! I am in a similar boat. I have PCOS and associated insulin resistance. I am taking a stab at low carb eating (much easier than when I tried this in college and couldn't afford decent food!). In a few weeks I will start some step up doses of Metformin. The low carb thing hasn't been too bad so far (it has only been a…
  • You have such a great attitude about this! I'd like to send you a friend request so some of that positivity will rub off on me :)
  • I really appreciate how realistic you are with your goal. I have seen similar goals trying to put themselves in the dress in 2 weeks! Way to go!
  • I was diagnosed with PCOS in college. Late, a specialist put me on metformin and I had a rough time with it. I was sick , a lot. I felt nauseated and had diarrhea, a l ot. This particular doctor was a reproductive endocrinologist and most of his patients were being treated to improve their chances of pregnancy - I was not.…
  • I went to a specialist that was just concerned about my baby prospects (keep in mind I was single and too young for that). He had me on drugs that made me sick and didn't really understand. My GP now is great and works with MY body - not a textbook case. And could some one tell these dudes that "getting a face laser" is…
  • Thanks all! Exactly what I suspected, but it is nice to get some perspective. I'm feeling better this afternoon after bing tortured by Jillian Michaels. I really appreciate the encouragement I have been receiving!
  • Woo hoo! I got the "are you losing weight" from a friend this weekend. Amazing how motivating simple things can be!!
  • I am right here with you! 33 and a dog and boyfriend that lives in another town. I am surrounded at work with new moms/pregnant women who could wear my clothes as maternity clothes and they woud still hang off. If I have to endure one more event where the topic du jour is poopy diapers and breast feeding I might pop! I was…
  • I just finished my 9th day of level 1. I do three days with one day off. The first three days were awful and I was so sore! After that I was doing much better. I have a super sore knee today and I am currently indulging in a post 30DS ice pack. I may take 2 days off to help out my knee!
  • I just finished day 7 of Level 1 today (three days on, one day off). I plan on doing level 1 for 12 days and then moving on. It is definitely no cake walk, but there is a HUGE difference from day 1!
  • Hi all! I have used MFP and WW a few times, but when the scale said 250 on Saturday it kicked my butt. I thought life would get easier once I finished grad school, but the stress of a hellacious first job got to me. Love some encouragement and friends!
