I'm not sure you'll be able to do those weight exercises, it depends on how you cast is positioned really, but since they involve gripping I won't think they'd be good for you to do. Swimming sounds like a really good idea though! I do quite a bit and it's really good for building/maintaining upper body strength,…

I broke my scaphoid bone when I was 10, had to have a cast on for several months. Since being a medical student I've come to realise the significance of this fracture (depending on the position of the break) - if you don't let it heal properly then necrosis can occur which can lead to loss of use of your thumb in years to…

21, anyone feel free to add me :)

'Pulling' a muscle means you've injured a particular muscle or tendon. The pain is there for a reason - to make you realise it's damaged and not to over work it so that it can heal. The heat is there due to inflammation which happens whenever the body is injured. The reason it's the same muscle? I'll attempt an analogy; if…

Try myprotein, it tends to be cheaper I think. I just get the impact whey protein which is the cheapest one, but good for protein content in comparison to some others. If you want to try them you can buy the 99p sample packs :)

Yeah I'm also unsure what mfp thinks is vigorous etc. I think it's up to you to interpret how you feel afterwards and will depend on your fitness level as to what you find difficult. I swim all out for 4 lengths, rest, then repeat so it's a form of HIIT, which I count as vigorous. When I'm just swimming lengths…

I gave up reading all of this but you've got some major facts wrong, for example, epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine (noradrenaline) are synthesised in the adrenal gland not the thyroid. Plus, their actions as hormones are really in response to stressed situations so unless you're planning on scaring yourself…

I don't know what country you're in so you might have different terminology, but I'm from the UK and would just call that a 'stitch'! It's slightly more complicated than this, but basically when your muscle cells aren't getting enough oxygen to perform aerobic respiration they start to perform anaerobic respiration and…

Medical student at Cambridge University, UK. Love it

I've never been deficient in vitamin D but its major associated problems are osteoporosis and osteomalacia, both due to defective bone mineralisation. I'm not able to say if you were to feel any improvements from taking supplements, but I think this is more of an internal problem you can't measure, because you don't…

I'm a medical student so similar lifestyle! Feel free to add me :)

I like to have soup with salad and meat by the side. Homemade soup is great if you have the time, a bit too much effort if you're busy with work, so I have covent garden soup. Lots of different flavours, healthier than tinned soup, and if you can buy them on offer then they're pretty cheap!

5"5, currently 166 pounds looking to get to 125. I'll add you :)

It's not so much the noises if people keep to themselves. It's more when guys look around at the same time to see if anyone's looking at how hard they're working!

If you did want some alternatives; gnocchi is great but is not very low on carbs. Couscous is the thing I love to eat instead of pasta :)
