There are lots of us! I'm in Bristol.

Hey, I just added you. If anyone else is looking for new friends, feel free to add me!

Pick one, and stick to that scale - focus on the relative difference from one weigh-in to the next, rather than getting overly worried about it. I'd imagine that the doctor's scales are probably most accurate because they have an interest in the reading actually being correct, but it doesn't seem like something to worry…

Sure, keep hassling them to come with you, but don't use their failure to stick to it as an excuse not to go yourself. It's nice to have an exercise buddy, but you can do it by yourself too.

I would hate that - I have problems with my feet and that sounds like a killer. I've read about people sitting on exercise balls instead of normal desk chairs, which sounds like a great idea fitness-wise.

I saw this on the BBC website earlier, it seems a bit like another bit of classic BBC "stating the flipping obvious" reporting.

I did have this problem when I was set to lose 1/2lb a week - I was allowed to eat 1500 calories before exercise. I switched down to 2lb a week, so can only have 1200 now, but if I do zumba or something else that burns a lot of calories, I do struggle to eat as many as MFP suggests I ought to. I must admit I can't imagine…

Nothing is prohibited for me. I find a way to work it into my calorie allowance. I'm not very good at giving up particular foods completely, and moderation seems to be a more realistic approach if this is supposed to be a change for life, rather than just a diet.

Donate them to charity - you clear the space for new clothes that fit you, the person who buys them gets new clothes, and the charity gets money for their work. Everyone wins.

My first thoughts were along those lines. Have you thought about having a cake-based affair with someone who loves cake?
-
Don't give up - it's probably water that you retained because of the salt in the pizza. If you eat high sodium foods, you need to drink plenty of water to flush the extra sodium out of your body.
-
Factor a little of it into your daily calorie allowance, and then find a way to put the rest of it beyond your reach - ask somebody to hide it somewhere you won't accidentally find it.

Cream Raw onions Strawberries (although I like strawberry-flavoured things) Spicy things Beer Red wine Coffee Muesli - whoever invented that was insane. Pears Brussels sprouts Anything remotely offal-y; liver, kidneys, tripe, black pudding, etc Clementines (but I love satsumas...) I didn't know I didn't like so many…

I've lost nine pounds since the beginning of September. You're doing well!

Unless there's a proper medical reason, you are allowed soda and you're allowed candy - just IN MODERATION! Denying yourself the things you like will only make you resent your new eating patterns. Find space for little treats in your calorie allowance, and plan your exercise to accommodate them.
-
That's a little misleading - I understand that it is possible to drink too much water. Two litres a day seems to be the standard target to aim for, unless you live in a hot climate in which case you should drink more (last time I checked, Shropshire wasn't particularly hot!)

Cherry tomatoes!

I'd see your doctor if I were you.

Tomatoes!

Planning - I spent yesterday afternoon making lunch for the week, and lasgne that could, in theory, feed us for two evenings. The freezer is your friend!

You've got to do what makes YOU happy. You're the one who has to live in your body. Anywhere within the healthy range of BMI is a good goal to go for, I think.

Fruit, vegetables, nuts,

If they're broken, yes. It's also good to weigh first thing in the morning, after you've been to the toilet but before you eat or drink anything, otherwise you're weighing you + your breakfast, or you + the contents of your bladder.

Don't let yourself give up. Also, you need to find a way to fit in those little things that you love - you don't get to goal and keep the weight off for good by living on rabbit food. I drink wine and eat chocolate and still lose weight! Have you heard the phrase "everything in moderation"? It's so true in this instance. I…

Fantastic! Also, that's the most fun NSV I've read about in a long time! I think I'd break my neck if I tried one now.

I'm happy knowing that I'm getting there, no matter how slowly. I felt pretty disheartened because I kept starting half-arsed attempts to lose weight, in which I wasn't really trying. Now I'm holding myself accountable and taking far more care, I'm starting to see results and that makes me feel good. I'm a bit of a control…

When I get to my goal weight, I'm going to go on a trip to Hay-on-Wye, a small town on the English-Welsh border famous for having lots of bookshops. I'm an avid reader. For every pound I lose, I plan to spend £2 in Hay; going from 181lb to 150lb, I'll have £62 to spend on books, lovely books! What are your hobbies? Can you…

I hate running too. I tried C25K - it made my hatred worse. I don't mind spontaneous acts of running, like realising I'm about to miss a train and just legging it, but any form of running involving any kind of preparation, specialist clothes, wearing proper shoes, warming up, warming down, etc, just makes me want to…

Well done, losing 10lb in 6 weeks is incredible! Just had a look at your diary - if anything, you could eat a bit more! You seem to do a lot of exercise, so you definitely have plenty of wiggle room for more snacks. Also make sure you do get enough water every day, as I've found that really helps. Good luck!

Wow, what a genuinely horrible thing to say, and an awful thing to joke about. To to the original poster - are you able to plan your meals in advance to get some more calories on board? Could you take a packed lunch, or take some snacks with you? You will make yourself ill if you go for long periods on such a low intake.
