If he does get anywhere near 80lb, he's going to end up in hospital. If you can't make him see sense yourself, I'd suggest that you talk to a member of his family or a close friend who can find another way to make him see that his goals are unhealthy. Your weight loss should have nothing to do with the goals that he sets…

I'm 5'6, currently 172lb, and trying to get down to 145-150lb. I've been bouncing around the 170lb mark for a few months now. Frustrating! But I can do this. Feel free to add me!

Or praise any kind of diet that involves eating 1199 calories a day. That'll get you a whole bucket of hysterical responses.

It's great that you've recognised that your body is damaged. I feel, however, that you should seek medical help, and don't rely on this site and its users to help you back to a healthy place. By all means seek support here, but you need professional help too and that isn't something that you're going to get here. Best of…

I'm not sure you're eating enough, and you definitely need to eat more fruit & vegetables. You must be pretty hungry most of the time!
-
More to the point, sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger. While you might not need 2 litres a day every day, sometimes part of the reason that people have weight problems is because they eat when actually their bodies are just asking for water.

Wow. That sounds like something that would happen at university when there were endless "Who's been drinking my milk/eating my cheese?!" arguments. Hope you manage to get to the bottom of it soon, and that's not just your parents being really mean to you!

I know someone who has lost about five stone (70lb) through Slimming World. It is very popular here in the UK - there are at least 3 groups that meet within a mile of where I live. I'm not sure if it has a bigger market share than WeightWatchers here, but it's definitely well-known and well-regarded, even if it just some…

26! I'll add you :-)

Lots of chain restaurants have their menu & nutritional info online so you can have a look & plan before you go.
-
You look amazing, well done! That is such a great achievement.

My biggest ever gain was seven pounds. Just keep drinking plenty of water and it will go away in 3-4 days.
-
The original point was just badly phrased - by volume, muscle DOES weigh more than fat. A cubic inch of muscle weighs more than a cubic inch of fat, hence you can be well-toned and weigh the same as someone who has substantial amounts of fat on their body. This would explain why the (probably quite muscular) original…

I'm here every day - I'll add you. Feel free to add me, anyone else!

Well done! That definitely deserves a new suit!

Amen! My fiance & I celebrated St Dwywen's Day (Wales' answer to St Valentine) on 25th January with a trip to the cinema. We don't get each other presents but I did buy him a sandwich because he was hungry. Who said romance was dead?!

Hey, I'm getting married in June 2013 (500 days tomorrow, eeeek!) and I'm hoping to lose about 25lb before I start dress shopping this summer. I'm always on the lookout for new friends so I'm happy for anyone to add me as a friend!

Would it be ridiculous to suggest a belt?
-
Bristol - feel free to add me, any of you!

Hi Zoe! I'm getting married in June 2013 - the thought of the wedding dress is such good motivation! xx

I don't pretend to have a sensible, scientific answer to your question, but meat definitely makes me parp.

I'm in :-)

I find it helps not to think of it as "being on a diet" - that gets me into a mindset of deprivation and being hungry. Think of it is a new lifestyle. You can eat small meals every 3-4 hours rather than three larger meals a day, if that helps. I did this for a while and it worked for me, although it can be quite…

Erm, can anyone actually answer the question without being rude to the OP?

Hello! I got engaged three days ago... I have no idea when I'm getting married, but I am! I've been on this site for a couple of months now. My overall goal is 150 or thereabouts, so I still have about 22lb to go. The wedding will be next October at the earliest, so I have a good amount of time to lose that weight - I am…

I don't think it would be weird - probably quite complimentary! I'm shy, though, so I wouldn't have done it. It's a shame those great legs don't help her to drive well!
-
Keep your purse/wallet in the boot (trunk) of your car so you can't get at your money to pay whilst you're out driving around. Carrying healthy snacks with you is a good idea. Of course, part of this is just down to willpower - you need to get some of that too.
-
Definitely get rid of them. Don't give yourself any space to get bigger again. If you donate them to a charity shop, you could help the charity raise money, let someone else get the benefit of your old clothes, and also clear out some space for new clothes for skinny new you!

This.

I totally agree - I mostly eat the entire egg because I don't like wasting food. The only time I separate them is for making spaghetti carbonara which needs more whites than yolks (I've tried using whole eggs and it wasn't very nice).
