  • Wow! Very inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
  • Thank you for the inspiriation! This is exactly what I needed today. Blessings to you and your family. You did this, and you own it!
  • I agree with you Rocbola. That is my opinion. Why is it "propaganda" if it's a vegan opinion and "fact" if it's an omnivore's opinion? There are facts and opinions on both sides of the issue. There are plenty of learned people and research papers that disagree with the safety of eating dairy products. If the science says…
  • Here's a great article that will warm your heart from "the master" http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-243-332--12707-0,00.html
  • I misread my training schedule and did 6.5mi yesterday instead of 4mi. A little tired today, but oh well! It's a good tired. Glad I didn't make a mistake in the other direction! Next run scheduled for Tuesday morning, 3mi.
  • I tried endomondo on my Droid yesterday and it could never "find" me even though it said the GPS signal was excellent. Hmm..., don't have the thing setup correctly? I'm not sure. Ali, our babysitter last night showed me her Nike application on her iphone that looked fantastic. It works similarly to endomondo. Laura

  • Here's a very quick and kid-friendly recipe that I make: Chik'n Vegetable Noodle Soup Spray a heavy-bottomed large sauce pan or soup pot with cooking spray. Saute a chopped onion or leeks and 2 large chopped carrots* for about 8 minutes. When they're done, add 1 cup each: frozen peas, frozen corn, frozen green beans, and…

  • Hi, My name is Laura. I'm 49, live in Seattle, and have two boys, age 10 and 7.I am vegan and recently found out I'm gluten intolerant, so also follow a GF diet. Five years ago, my 3rd triathlon season, I ran 6 tris (5 sprint and 1 olympic distance) and a hilly half marathon. I'd lost 50# and was 25# from goal. A month…
  • I 49 1/2, just signed up for a Half Marathon in October and in week 2 of Jeff Gallagher's coach-2-half training. My last half marathon was 5 years and 50# ago. I'd LOVE to have some online running buddies! Laura
  • I am vegetarian (vegan, really) for 3 reasons: 1st, diverting grain to feed inefficient animals has a HUGE deleterious affect on the environment, which affects ALL animals everywhere, including humans and wildlife. It takes 9# of grain to make 1# of beef, grain that humans could consume instead. I am healthy, food tastes…
  • Hello, I'm new here. I've got GF focaccia bread in the oven now. Smells so good! Made from soaked whole grains, no flours or mixes. I'll let you know how it turns out! Laura
  • Wonderful! Thanks for sharing.
  • Get outside at lunch time. I am TERRIBLE at this, but it's important.
  • What a great story, thanks for sharing. You've taken 20 years off. So inspiring to me. Woohoo!
  • I just found this book yesterday and can't put it down! Very inspirational.
  • You could make a "P)lease don't feed the animals" sign and put your photo with it as a joke. We keep a stocked fruit bowl in the staff lounge and individual snack-size almonds (from Trader Joes) in "Happy Drawer." Since becoming a vegan a year ago and now trying GF, I "can't" (choose not to) and so I don't, and it no…
  • Hi, another "The" Ohio State grad, '95 (so KHS we probably know each other). I'm a relatively new practice owner of 2 1/2 years, married just shy of 25 years, and have two sons, 10 and 7, with ADHD and dyslexia. With the economy, 45 minute commute each way, and the extra effort my sons require, I feel like I've had my foot…
  • Awesome! You've worked hard. And I love the Spider Man and Etch-a-sketch -- says tons about the rest of your life as a mom (know it well!). Very inspiring.
  • You look 20+ years younger and your smile is radiant! No, put that big ol' T-shirt in a box with your other old clothes and treat yourself to a smaller size T-shirt. You deserve it! Great work and great inspiration to others. Thanks for sharing.
