Well Flora, I think you are a start for wanting to have a go! I read an article (think it was in Southern Running Guide) about a gentleman who had completed his latest marathon aged 100 & was planning to run his next at 101, so there is hope for us all!

I used the medical tape too.

Hi ya, Am seriously considering doing it in 2013. Would not be fit enough/run ready this year as new to running & need to get my level up first. Just need to work out whether to travel early on the day, or book in at a B&B or something. All things to be discussed with hubby & finalised lol!

Finally, as of yesterday I have dropped the 1/2 tsp of sugar in my tea, YYYEEEEHHHHAAAA!!!!! May not get the crunches done today, but kicking that final bit of sugar is big progress (used to have 2 tsp!)

That is simply amazing, congratulations & well done. That is a seriously awesome time for your first 5k! Moving on to the 10k next?

Tuesday - almost managed the water intake, achieved the veggies, didn't get in any push-ups as Tuesday is my rest day this week. Hoping Wednesday will be good!
-
Monday - still haven't been able to give up that last 1/4 tsp of sugar in my tea - definitely need to kick that into touch next week! Managed the crunches, 3 sets of 15 of 3 styles + one extra set to hit target. Hope to hit the vegies today & the pushups.

Congratulations Alexis/PoliticalRN, well done. Thank you Jeff for all your hard work in this comp, it has definitely kept me strict with logging! I've done the no cheating for this long, now just going to keep it up! No "non logging" days either if I feel it's a bad one, just log it & move on! Thank you :)

Hi, I bought some quinoa last week as have been informed it is high protein & can be used like rice or cous-cous. Have yet to try it, plan on using it for a rice/couscous style salad for lunches. Have also just started having soya yoghurts too as well as switching from oat milk to soya to try & boost things. Picked up some…

Fantastic, well done & an amazing time too!

I'm so excited, my book has arrived today (thank you to my wonderful hubby for buying that as a surprise). Looking forward to reading through. Will book a prgramme re-evaluation at the gym, so they can show me how to use the equipment correctly!

I'm also on my last stretch to goal weight, 8lbs to go & I still have the "spare tyre" round the middle - it's the last thing I'm having to shift! Frustrating, but it is doable & still seeing the inches go down, so hang in there, it will happen! I'm making sure I have a good balance between cardio to burn the fat & weights…

Please can I be in for 50 :)
-
Congratulations! That's an awesome time for a first event too, hope you celebrated the achievement! Have you set yourself a new target? 10K, half marathon?
-
Hi, please may I join in? Started running in July & now slowing increasing the miles. Would like to start at 50mile :)
-
I'm still in :)
-
Congratulations on all the loosers (on list or not) - hope to make the list next week lol! Keep up the good work everyone - we can ALL do this!
-
I'm in again for another month. Want to try & get those mini challenges nailed this time!
-
Fantastic work, really inspiring! I'm also looking at the potential of doing the London to Brigton next year lol. Would love to see your training plan too! AWESOME JOB!
-
Yep, something like that lol! Hope to get some if that sorted over the next week!
-
Potentially move from weight machines to free weights (meant to use more muscles?)- show how to do properly! Sort out my routine - i.e me not trying to do everything each time I go to gym & set a balance between training for 1/2 marathon + weights + cardio that works & doesn't leave me feeling like I'm not doing enough lol!

Hi all, As I've been reading so much about this programme & how I can shape my body, I emailed hubby a link about the book - he's been & ordered me a copy today! He comes to the gym with me & is happy to do anything & everything to help - I'm so blessed! I'm looking forward to it as I've been using the machines at the gym…

If I go straight from work to run at 6.30pm, then I eat after - around 8-8.30pm & make sure I don't go to bed for at least a couple of hours to ensure my body has had time to digest before sleep. If I'm going to be doing running on treadmill at the gym, I eat around 6-6.30 & head to the gym for around 8pm - gives the meal…

Congratulations & a big well done. Look forward to hearing how the 5k goes. I went off track, completed a 5k at wk4, then another after wk5, have now skipped the rest of the 5k & gone to the B210K programme. Also now pop along to our local running club, the last 2 wednesday evenings & done 4.5miles each session! Hope to…

Congratulations, a great achievement, well done. You will be fine for week 8. Definitely stick at your 'mollasses' pace, the more distance you do over time through the 5k programme & beyond, the more strength & stamina you will build & your pace will naturally (all be it slowly) increase. There is always options further…

WOW, a great achievement! You look AMAZING!

Haven't booked for it, but have been eyeing it up. May not make it this year, but hope to next year for sure - the 10 mile option! Go for it 'determinedbut' - hope you do well :)

Ok, a weird one, bananas - well they are yummy, but..... It's not that I don't like them in things - smoothies, banana loaf, on toast with cinnamon sugar etc, but eating it raw, for some reason makes me nauseous - think it's the texture? I've tried several times, yesterday I decided was my last. Will just have to accept I…
