  • Monday - a little over on calories (hubby baked banana walnut loaf & I couldn't resist) but hit the water/fluid intake. Rest day. Tuesday - Missed on the sugar - still have 1/2tsp in my cup of tea - need to get that to ZERO! (it used to be 2 tsp!) No push-ups either, re-arranging rooms & furniture! Wednesday - 3 veg -…
  • Congratulations! A huge well done for hanging in there & sticking with it, a real achievement. Look forward to hearing the update on "I hit 5K" :flowerforyou:
  • complete the Three Peaks Challenge http://www.thethreepeakschallenge.co.uk/ This challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.
  • WOW, you look amazing, congratulations, a wonderful achievement & great inspiration :)
  • Hi, I'm 5'1" & my original goal was 126lbs (9st) & currenlty have 3.2lbs to go to get there, but have recently decided that 119lbs (8.1/2st) is where I would really like to be, although I'm quite broad across the shoulders so not sure I'll get that low, but happy to try. Improving my body shape so I'm a very comfortable…
  • WOW, that is amazing, well done. Truely inspiring!
  • I invested in a running belt which has a little pocket for keys & a couple of small holders with 300ml water bottles - a very worthwhile investment too, now don't go running without it. I was using a small shop bought 500ml bottle to carry before I got the belt, so that is an option to get you started. I did find I have to…
  • angry :explode:
  • I was the same, a little over on calories (hubby baked banana walnut loaf & I couldn't resist) but hit the water/fluid intake. We shall see how we get on today! All the best to everyone!
  • Hi, we use quorn most of the time, with the occasional bit of bacon! Mainly as I don't like the texture of meat (put off at school & never gone back) & hubby converted when he decided to loose weight. We use the chicken, mince & beef strips in various recipes. You can pretty much convert any normal meat recipe to use…
  • This is certainly becoming really tough. Had to give myself a real telling off/good talking to about logging last week. Had a day when the calories were not great & then had a couple of crackers & thought, oh, I won't log them it won't hurt, my calories will look extra bad - then the thought of having to own up here & be…
  • Wow, that is fantastic, congratulations. So inspiring too, wonderful to hear! Shout it from the rooftops!
  • Great news, well done, you'll soon be doing your 1st 5k race :)
  • I would comfort eat, skip a real dinner & instead have a whole tube of Pringles (Sour cream & onion) Large pack M&M peanuts & large pack Maltesers. Sometimes I'd have some left for the next day, depending on how low I felt! Can't believe I'd eat it all, sometimes get the urge now & then, but can no longer eat any of it as…
  • Oh, no, am I too late, I'm still alive!
  • Congratulations everyone, hope to join the losers this week!
  • Ok, completed the 5k, jogged the entire route & time of 35:13, just a tad excitable when crossed the finish line! I was amazed to be under 45 mins & the fact in July I couldn't even run 30 secs shows what we can achieve when we put ourselves to the test. Went along to check out our local running club last night (had…
  • If you fancy running, go check out a club! It was brilliant, everyone is really friendly, different groups for different levels of fitness etc, with a coach allocated to each group. On your run out & about, they set a point to run/jog to, eg traffic lights, junction etc, you start your run & those a bit quicker get to that…
  • Congratulations, a great achievement after being so rough! Well done for just going for it, it truely is amazing how much we can do & the surprise is priceless. Pat on the back & hoorah!
  • Congratulations, well done, an amazing achievement & very motivational too! Keep up the good work & hope the half marathon in Feb goes well - you'll have to let us know
  • I think it has to be km too! I'm on week 5, walk at 5.7km & runat 7.2km on treadmill, although my last session I started at 7.2km, upped to 7.3km for 1 min, then to 8km for 1 min & back down again. But did feel I had probably pushed a bit too hard - so will see what happens on the next one - wk 5 day 3, 20 min run - will…
  • It is so easy, it's all I cook with. Just slightly fry it (dry) in a pan (we generally use the wok) after a few minutes when it's looking thawed, add your favourite sauce (we love chilli & spag bol) simmer for 15 mins & you are done! The Quorn chicken is great for sweet & sour or curries, the beef strips are great with…
  • If we decide to do the fish & chips, we just get 1 medium fish & chips & share it! That way we get the treat, but not all the calories - generally don't eat all the chips either! Guess your OH may not be up for the sharing a portion? Maybe with the kids?
  • Awesome, congratulations! I completed my 1st on Saturday, it's an amazing feeling to cross that finish line isn't it!
  • Excellent, congratulations, you must be so pleased! Well done!
  • Hi, I'm Lorraine, location Hastings, UK & just joined your group. I've only recently started running as part of getting fit & am currently on week 5 of C25K, although I completed my 1st 5k Saturday (15th Sept). I'm going along to my local running club on Wednesday (19th Sept) to check them out & join them in a beginners…
  • I would highly recommend the couch to 5 k programme, it is brilliant. Don't start to fast, if you can run slower, you are running too quickly - I learnt that one the hard way! It starts with 5 min walk to warm up, 30 sec jog, then walk & repeat. Even 30 secs can sound/feel hard work to start, but stick with it, you'll be…
  • Go for it, you'll be amazed how quickly you will improve. I happily walk on my rest days, just to keep the joints moving more than anything, plus at least I feel I'm still doing something! Tip - go slow, make sure your pace is not too fast, I started on treadmill & too quick & turned it down a couple times to get a…
  • Fantastic, CONGRATULATIONS, isn't it amazing how we can achieve things that we never thought we could, & how brilliant is that feeling! AWESOME, go girl!
  • http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/melissa-darabian/crispy-kale-chips-recipe/index.html My favourite is mash, steamed kale, carrots, gravy & mint sauce, simple veg but delicious & you can load the plate with the kale & carrots without having to worry on loads of extra calories! (If we decide to add protein, it's usually…
