  • Apparently when he was still making the show he only ate vegetarian when he wasn't filming the show and worked out twice a day while on the road for filming. He'd also try not to eat a day before a challenge. EDIT: Apparently he didn't take as much care in the "newer" episodes, obviously I was either watching re-runs or I…
  • Gymnastics definitely! I am a dancer, and these girls' athleticism and commitment and flexibility and strength are always inspiring to me. You can imagine how slob-like I felt when I was downing a honey-bun, a personal pint of cookie dough ice-cream, and chugging down a tall can of Arizona sweet tea in my vacation condo…
  • My favorite would probably have to be Olan Rogers; he makes short films as well as videos of him telling stories about the funny things that have happened to him. His comedic timing is spot on, he's a cool guy, and basically he's one of the most entertaining storytellers ever. My favorite videos from him are Soft Landing…
  • I really like Arizona brand, bottled sweet tea or the bags, I'd definitely recommend them. I also just recently tried the pomegranate flavor of the Bigelow brand and it's pretty awesome! And good for you, green tea and water are my go-to drinks! (:
  • Bump. Although I know for sure that in this situation you can't just hope to spot reduce my doing a million crunches, it won't work. I know you have to do more strength training in order to tone up, and a good amount of cardio will help too.
  • I dig (500) Days of Summer's soundtrack, and the last Harry Potter's soundtrack too, and pretty much any score to any Tarantino film. And I really can't think of a worst...
  • Thanks so much! I'm really content with my progress so far! (:
  • I'm on the second season now, almost to the end of episode 5 or 6. I'm really trying to pick up the pace so I can get to season four before season five starts (good thing it just ended!) All I can say is it just keeps getting better. Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston are incredible.
  • I absolutely adore the Nabisco 100 Calorie Snackwell double chocolate fudge drizzled cookies. For a 100 calorie pack there's a pretty decent amount of cookies in a package, and they're so delicious. I have a pack with lunch every day. They're really good for when I'm craving some chocolate and need to get my daily…
  • Exactly ^. If you're not hungry, then don't eat food just because you feel like you absolutely have to. If you are hungry, then of course eat! I try and eat back at least half of the calories I burn during work-outs. I've also found it takes away any lightheadedness if I eat a little something after a good work-out. I've…
  • Hmm. I think the calculation of some of the items on there are a little faulty, but I think it depends on which exercise you do. When you calculate walking and running I think it gives a more realistic result, versus when you put in say "chasing kids around". I don't really use it to calculate much other than…
  • I've found MFP actually UNDER-estimates the calories I burn when I work-out, and the machine OVER-estimates it. I actually looked for "calories burned calculator" in Google and clicked on the first result. It allows you to enter your current weight, and scroll down to whatever exercise you just did and put in how long you…
  • I think it's ok to kind of let yourself indulge a little bit more when you're "surfing the crimson wave", just really pay a little more attention to what you're taking in. You can swap out a lot of things you'd normally crave for something that's similar but a little better for you. Like swap milk chocolate or a brownie…
  • I've been on this site for a few weeks now and it's an awesome tool and everyone here is so supportive!
  • Food pushing is so annoying. My mom got on this cooking in the crockpot kick, and she literally cooks something in the crockpot like every night of the week, and generally it's not the healthiest. She keeps pushing it too, like she cook something and I'll be like "I think I'll have something else." and she'll say "Well you…
  • I'm definitely in!
  • Dexter used to be my absolute favorite, but after the end of the 3rd season I stopped watching it, I need to catch back up again!
  • I rented the first one and almost didn't end up watching it, terrible decision on my part. But now I'm on track and watching it like crazy!
  • I cannot wait until I finish the first season. It's got me seriously hooked. I haven't been this invested in a drama since Dexter (and I definitely need to catch up on that one.) And casting Bryan Cranston as Walt is probably the best decision they ever could've made, he IS Walt and I can't imagine it any other way.
  • I can kind of get where you're coming from, some days when I exercise I'm about 200-300 below and don't realize it until it's like 9:30 at night and I'm ready for bed. And some days when I don't exercise I'm a little under 100 but I usually feel fully satisfied, and once again it's too late to eat a sandwich or something.…
  • You need to be eating a calorie amount that is very close to your goal otherwise your body will go into starvation mode and cause you to actually gain weight. You also want to eat back almost all of the calories you work off during exercise. I also don't suggest weighing yourself every day because your weight will…
  • You look so fabulous! Congrats on your weight loss! (:
  • Definitely club soda, or sparkling water like LaCroix or Perrier. I've also cut way down on my soda too, and I'm doing great without it!
  • Really depends. I like a lot of older Green Day's music for working out (ala their second album, Kerplunk) it's really good paced. I also like to listen to Lady Gaga, If I Had You by Adam Lambert is probably my all-time favorite workout song. I vary from workout session to workout session.
  • I dropped school lunches completely, and it's definitely helped. I once logged a chicken nugget, roll, mashed potato and gravy lunch and I couldn't even believe the amount of calories I'd consumed it was insane. I pack my lunches now and I usually have a sandwich (PBJ or turkey with cheese and mustard on whole wheat), an…
  • You're human it's totally natural to have days like these. But the biggest thing is to just not sweat it, it's only one day, if everyday was like this then I'd say be a little worried, but no need to really worry about it. Just try and get back on track tomorrow!
  • See I'm 5'0 and I should be weighing anywhere from 94 (the absolute lowest) and 128 (the heaviest) in order to maintain a healthy weight. I try and eat about 1,200-1,300 calories a day if I do little exercise, otherwise I eat more depending on how much I burn that day. So at 5'4 you should definitely not be weighing 104,…
  • I've got about 12-16 pounds until I'm down to my ideal goal. I want to look good for my school's winter formal! I'm 5'0 originally 130, and now 124 hoping to get in shape and get down to around 115-110 (: Feel free to friend me! And good luck.
  • Just because you want to eat healthy doesn't mean you have to eat salads all the time. I'm actually not a big fan of them either (not going to lie if I see a little bit of brown or pink on a lettuce leaf, I lose my appetite.) Trust me there's a lot more healthy food out there for you to explore.
