When people think the reason they lost weight is because they stopped eating meat. You didn't lose weight because you stopped eating meat. You lost weight because you're no longer eating too much of it. A steak can carry a hefty price in calories, but if you portion it correctly, you can absolutely fit it in your goals.

Great job, sir!!! Keep up the great work!!!

I tried it for about a month and I didn't notice any significant changes. Plus, it starting triggering headaches for me. I was doing 16:8. It was not for me.

Thank you for your reassurance. I am going to continue walking, even though it's not helping as much as I would like. But at least it keeps me moving.
-
Thanks for the info. I just manually logged a walk and with 4 miles, it only shows 250 calories. I was waaaaayyyyy off.

You're absolutely correct. As down as I feel about all of this right now, you're right in that when we know better, we do better. Thanks for the positivity.

It all makes sense now.

Well y'all. I feel like I've pretty much been wasting my time, now that it's been revealed that I haven't been burning that many calories. All this time I'm thinking I'm really working hard out in this heat, only to find that I'm burning only about 300-400 calories. At least it all makes sense now as to why my weight is…

I feel like this explanation explains everything.

Yes, I use a HRM Yes, my HR is much higher due to the heat. Back in the spring, I was burning about 600 doing 4 miles. So are you saying that my heart rate is higher due to my body trying to stay cool, and I'm not actually burning more calories?

I am a gym rat and I just cannot get motivated to workout at home. So I've basically been watching what I'm eating very carefully. Since I'm still trying to lose weight, I'm eating about 1200 calories or so right now, sometimes a little more. That's about all I'm doing and it seems to be working for the most part.

This is very helpful, thank you!!!!

Thank you!!!!

This makes sense as well. Thank you!

This makes sense. I feel like I would be more likely to fall off the wagon if there is no consistency. Thank you!!!

No specific advantage, just looking at options.

What if you're not exercising at all? Do you think the method would still be effective? [/quote] What do you mean by effective? As long as you are in a calorie deficit on average over the week, it will lead to weight loss. And you don't need to exercise for weight loss (but it's good for your health though). So the precise…

The TDEE would be around 1700.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I'm looking forward to trying these.

Yes, I've been having issues like that as well and I have an Android. Maybe they'll release an update to get rid of the bugs.

Is there a YMCA near you? Many Y's have childcare that's included in your membership and it provides a place where your children can play under supervision while you work out. Also, the Y can give you an income-based monthly rate.
