  • Ice Cream with Chocolate Syrup!
  • Maybe these ladies are like me. I have dieted off and on since I was 12 years old but I didn't have a clue what I was doing until I found this amazing MFP site. It has helped me and educated me so much in regards to food. I was always able to lose the weight I needed to lose but I have to tell you, looking back, it was…
  • Hi, I am here to support you but I don't have a clue as to the answer other than muscle weighs more than fat and if you are really lifting weights hard, I would think muscle mass increases in size like you see on body builders. You don't look very large in your photo so if it's the case you don't have much to loose or none…
  • I am older than you and speak from experience. It appears your boyfriend is a control freak. Since you are working two jobs, going to school, have no dogs and the apartment is yours, put him out with his dogs. He will never change. He will always react to things such as this in the same manner and it will only get worse.…
  • Ok, I am concerned about you. It is not normal to not "really go to the bathroom for weeks" and can cause damage to your entire body. If you can grocery shop for $20 there is no question that the med dose may be too high and an adjustment would take care of that.. Please go to the dr tomorrow - if your dr. can't see you,…
  • I am fairly new here as well and no expert. I don't use all of my calories on my three meals so I can have snack room. I plan and enter my food before I eat it to see what the damage is and then if it is too much, I delete it and try something else so I have calories left for snacks. As for snacks, Peaches (68 cal), Whole…
  • I am pretty sure the not eating after 7 at night has become a myth and no longer applies. Sometime around the time they linked weight loss to getting enough sleep it was determined that it no longer applies because your body actually burns calories while you sleep.
  • If you click on tools tab above and then click on BMR, it tells you exactly how many calories your body burns based on your height and weight if you do nothing but stay in bed. So, don't go over those calories and you should maintain.
  • Hi, I am from the south so I really don't even know how to be rude! You can add me as a friend if you wish.
  • Hi, You need to see a doctor now. It could be your thyroid but it could also be heart or artery related with all of the bloating. Please Please Please do this for yourself. If there is no problem - fine but what if there is? Again, it could be as simple as not eating enough but why take the chance? The doc can tell a lot…
  • It is impossible to be perfect all of the time! There was a topic on here last night asking if folks had cheat times and it turns out they do within moderation. The impressive thing was that most of them had lost a lot of weight and stated if you didn't cheat from time to time that this would be unsustainable. I think they…
  • There comes a point in one's life that they have to look after themselves first. I feel selfish doing it but I have finally realized at my age that what is important is me and my well being. No one can do that for me. Only me. Only you can look after you and your well being. By doing this, you can handle anything that…
  • This is for deztwo. I don't know if there is a calorie counter or not on this site. I enter my food on the food tracker before I actually eat it to see what the calories, ect are. If it is too much or not worth it, I delete it out and try something else. Once you add the food to the food tracker, you can delete it off if…
  • You could have dropped 3 pounds over night from all of the walking. Weight is a funny thing. However, with the scale being off 20 pounds for your husband, I think I would buy a new scale that goes up to whatever weight is appropriate so that the two of you will know for sure. Just my opinion.
  • To lose 37 pounds you are doing something right. I went to a dietician years ago and she said a calorie is a calorie and I think that is true. I am older and not so much a fast food person but I like good food. I have been able to not completely deprive myself of good food and still lose weight as long as I stay within my…
  • You have found the right place to be. I have tried everything and this is working for me. I think the key is to try and plan ahead the best your can and have what you need in your home. It also helps me to add my food before I eat it so I can see what the calories, etc are. If it puts me over or more calories than I want…
  • First, I know you feel cheated as you tried very hard to stay within your calories. This is the most amazing and helpful thing about this site to me is being able to look up chain restaurant entree calories. I would always get the sirloin steak, plain bake potato and salad with half the dressing at Outback Steak House…
  • Different strokes for different folks. I don't burn enough calories exercising due to physical limitations to matter one way or the other. For someone on a 1200 calorie a day and then burns 600-700 calories in exercise, it would seem to me that they would need to eat back the calories burned just to stay out of starvation…
  • This is an amazing site and I feel so lucky a co-worker of mine led me to it. I have tried everything under the sun (thyroid problem) and this is working for me. I am doing the 1 pound a week and so far - 3 weeks and 3 pounds so I am very happy. I feel confident that this site will work for you too. With the way it is set…
  • Wow what a difference 40 pounds make. Post like this keep me going. Congrats!
  • Please get your thyroid checked sooner rather than later for your over all health. I speak of what I know. An undiagnosed thyroid can kill you as it can push you over into a heart attack. I have a thyroid problem and I have gained a lot of weight since the heart attack. I have been doing this for 3 weeks and have finally…
  • Going from 128 to 132 is not the end of the world although it sounds like you may be stress eating or just bored. Unless you are a Little Person at 2 feet tall, there is nothing huge about you. There can't be at that weight! Tomorrow's a new day - start over and take it from there. Good Luck
  • It helps me to keep the right foods in the house. It takes a lot of time and planning but it is the only way I have been able to stay on track. I also enter my food before I eat it unless I fall off the wagon on something. If I do, I enter that food immediately so I can see how much damage I have done and then try to work…
  • Congrats on your 5 pounds. I am new too but mine is going a little slower. I do like this site and I think it will help me.
  • Due to physical limitations from illness, I can do very little exercise. I do what I can like parking as far away from the door at the grocery store and other places to do a little extra. Sometimes I can do my stationary bike for only about 10 minutes before my legs go numb. Honestly, I feel like not being able to move…
  • Chobani fat free Strawberry Yougurt helps me sometimes. There are lots of strawberries on the bottom so when you mix it up, you to get some sweetness from the strawberries. Other times, I give in and immediately list it on my food chart then try to undo some of the damage with my other calories for the day.
  • Looking at your photo, you look thin to me. You must not have much weight to lose and that's why it is taking longer. Plus, you probably exercise a lot which builds muscle which weighs heavier than fat. You may have to see your results thru measurements instead of pounds.
  • I don't know if this helps or not but I enter my food on mfp before I eat it so I can see what the damage is. By doing this, if I mess up, I immediately enter that info and then try to make up for some of it on the other meals. For example, when I entered a baked potato for tonight, it put me over so I switched to green…
  • I have been thinking about the Lap Band myself and read up on it on WebMd. I would not be able to to the HCG because I am positive I could not stick to the 500 Calories per day. I can barely stick to the 1480 on here. Anyway, a co-worker of mine has battled weight all of her life. She had done every diet out there. She had…
  • I have never been a small petite person so I just picked a weight I am confortable with. Your doctor can tell you what is suppose to be your ideal weight based on charts and the like but for me, that figure has always been unrealistic. The smallest lady size I have ever worn is a size 12. Since I have never been a size 6,…
