I've been single all my life. I think at this point it would take someone pretty amazing to make it work. I have my own place. I cook for myself and I'm pretty good at it. I like the way my house looks, so I would be wondering why we need to redecorate lol. I guess i will keep hoping and the mean time try to find someone…

Mostly I suspect it's to cover for their insecurity. They are not doing what they need too and feel like your good example is a rebuke to their lack of effort, etc. The tough part is not taking it personally and continuing to encourage better conduct on their part. Failing that you may have to make some tough choices about…

If it's general sweating then probably genetic. If the sweating is limited to specific areas like the underarms and around the head it can be neurological. Not in the sense of emotional issues, but literally a problem with the involuntary nervous system. Depending on how bad it is there are treatment options. A friend of…

I help where I can. :)

I am not sure I understand the comment about not being able to bend the knee more than 90 degrees. Do you mean immediately or ever? I had the ACL reconstruction and I can touch my heel to my butt. What was critical was to do EXACTLY what the surgeon and the therapist told me to do. The resistance band work was not fun. It…

I tend to agree with the comment about just watching out for products with sugar added. The sugars in fruit for instance come with fibre which slows their absorption into the body. High fructose syrup, etc can lead to metabolic disorder. I am slowly eating up the stuff with sugar added I already have and NOT buying…

Just turned 50 this year. Started on MFP last year. Don't know that I'm ever going to be hot. I am very determined to be healthy! If I can ever help just ask! Good Luck!

I have one and it works great. Make sure the battery on the phone is fully charged. I use Digifit App and it eats the battery up fast! Maybe 2-3 hours from full charge. Good Luck!

St. Charles, MO! MFP has been a huge help. I have a few friends who do a lot of research. I'm always happy to discuss and give input. Good Luck!

Confirmed geek here. Flavored green tea no sweetner has been my fix. Ask any questions you like. Good Luck!

I know that at age 50 I'm gonna have to work hard but I want to be in the 12-15% range. Just for once in my life, lol.

Moderate amounts of fat are actually good and necessary. Fats are one of the signals that the body looks for, so you feel like you have eaten enough. Sugar either gets used or stored and does nothing for appetite satisfaction. There is a really informative book called 'The Perfect 10 Diet' by Michael Aziz. I don't agree…

Provided she is still committed to the relationship, do something together and help with the grocery shopping. Most of my married friends who had a similar situation started just walking and talking together. Help with the grocery shopping so better food choices are made. Is she getting a full nights sleep? That can be a…

Usually daily, the important part is to weigh in at the same time of day under similar circumstances. For me it's easiest to weigh in first thing in the morning before eating or exercise.

Mine was a patella tendon graft. It was recommended at the time. The reason given was there were issues with making sure of safety. Early on there were problems with HIV and Hepatitis transmission from donor grafts. I'd make sure that is not an issue. I still have some sensitivity where they took the graft. It only affects…

It does get better. The tough thing is learning moderation. That includes being able to eat a moderate amount of the fun stuff. Personally I would stay away from the diet soda. Go for a mixed drink with a little bit of fruit juice and drink it.... moderately. There is a book called 'The Perfect Ten Diet'. I urge you to…

Lots of Vitamin E, try to find a tan or fitness store that has a red light booth. The red light strengthens the collagen in the skin. It takes up to six months after weight loss for the skin to tighten up. Once the six months has gone by THEN go see a dermatologist.

Nature's Best Whey Protein Isolate - Dutch Chocolate. Zero carbs, great balance of proteins and safe. A lot of the less expensive powders have heavy metals and other undesirable stuff included. You get what you pay for, and it's tough to fix the results of eating bad food after the fact.

Salad's are easy and can be fun if you don't load them with too much stuff. I especially like herb salad and spinach salads, Soup is easy and you can freeze what you don't eat and have the rest later. I admit to having become the master of dividing stuff and spreading it over the week.

What I have read is .4-.6 grams per pound per day if you are doing cardio and normal activity. If weight lifting then .6-.8 grams per pound per day.

I tried some conventional cross trainers from new balance and hated them! I got some of their 'Minimus' cross trainers and that was a huge improvement. It really comes down to what is comfortable for you. One test I neglected the first time around was the simple act of jumping up and down in the prospective new shoes. The…

MFP assumes you are doing 200-400 calories of 'normal daily activity'. Getting up and walking around the house getting ready for work, lunch, dinner and probably a little cleaning etc. I just do an extra half hour to hour of cleaning, hanging up clothes or walking the dog and that seems to be doing the trick for me.
