thanks all! I've never thought about using coconut sugar. I'll have to look into that! Would this be the flaked coconut powder (it looks mostly like powder) in the organic section I've seen?

I usually eat the beef and broccoli there, but you could also do the moo gai pan (sp). It's one of the healthiest dishes there and I'm pretty sure it's beef free.

I think if you take away the portion control part of weight watchers, that can be a valuable tool. I personally tried it in 2009 and it was awful! I started tracking the "points" and converting them to the calories I actually consumed and I was only set up to take in 1060 calories a day. It was insane how low the calorie…

Great thread! I used to buy nutritional/dieting books all the time and I would never finish them. Then I gave Candace Cameron Bure's book "Reshaping it All" a go and I absolutely loved it. It was real and honest and though I've never dealt with an eating disorder like she had, it explained that losing weight and eating…

Yes and I loathe myself for this. I'm NOT a lazy person, but when I overeat, the first thought through my mind is "why did I let myself look lazy and eat that instead of making something fresh, something I know is healthier."

Yes---this! The foods I snack on are not bad foods and most of the time they aren't overly carb loaded, but I've always had trouble with portion sizes. I'm obsessed with peanuts, cashews, skinny pop popcorn and trail mixes that are tex mex inspired. Good items for the most part to snack on, but once i start, I dont stop.…

[/quote] Set a timer. Spend 30 minutes wrapping gifts, cleaning or whatever, then 30 minutes exercising then back to what you were doing before or a different chore. I'm a firm believer in the fact that you can't wait until you can find time to do something you have to make time for it. Trust me, between working full time…

It really has nothing to do with cutting back on sugars and white flour per se. What i was saying, is that in general, whenever I am mindful of what I eat and try something new (cutting back on whatever it may be), it backfires and I end up eating more. Kinda like a rebellious thought I guess.

Thanks! I DO need to work out. I'm always so worn out at the end of the day that it's hard to jump the hurdle and do it. It's soooo much easier in the spring and summer when I can be outside. I already lack sleep, so getting up in the morning is not an option. I just need to put aside cleaning the house or wrapping gifts…

DashingDish.com has a Thanksgiving section on it's site right now. I love the recipes!

I've never been overweight, but I always want to lose and better myself because I know I can--I've done it in the past. I'm 5'3, 145--size 6. My goal is to get to 125-130 and STAY there. That's usually where I feel awesome... add me if you want!

I will have to check that one out! Thanks!

I take a daily prenatal, which has 28 mg of Iron. I also take a daily D3 supplement. The Iron and Vit B was higher in the prenatal than it was a multivitamin, which is why i just continuted to take the prenatal, even long after kids. It never occured to me though, that the sleep i'm getting, even though I don't wake up…

Part of me thinks I'm a wuss for needing more than 6-7 hours, since a lot of people in this thread seem to only get that amount or even less! We have a 6 and a 1 year old and the 6 year old is a master sleeper, but the 1 year old is not. Sometimes I'm up with him, but for the most part, I find I just get in bed too…

Thanks everyone! I'm going to try to start getting 8--hopefully that will help give me some energy! My brain wants to clean and get so much accomplished day in and day out--and if that means staying up and getting less sleep, then I will, but after I start doing what I set out to do, it's like I lose energy fast. I'm over…

I'm 5'3 on a good day. I'm NO expert by any means and have problems being consistent in my weight loss, but I can tell you what works for me. Keep in mind I work a ton and my hubby and I have a 6 yr old with sports activities and a very active 14 month old. Not a lot of time to work out.......however, if I keep my calories…

I use manufact and online Kroger coupons and will stock up on cans of simple truth organic veggies/beans when they are 10 for 10--and usually buy the items on sale as long as it's made with decent ingrediants. My problem is that we HAVE to have the essentials on hand at all times and that alone takes up about $150.00 a…

We are a family of 4 and spend almost 600.00 a month and still run out of food and have to eat out. I'd say (and its sad to acknowledge it) what you're spending now is probably normal. We do have a little more expense because I buy the "dirty dozen" veggies organic, and i buy organic milk and lunch meat since the kids…

I do this a lot at Chick Fil A!!! Plenty of food, WAY cheaper! And they have grilled nuggets, which are so good!

I know fast food is the devil to most, but some people love it. I love to get it 2-3 times a week, but I feel like I choose decent options. Here is what I always order: Chick Fil A--Cobb salad with grilled nuggets, fat free honey mustard dressing, only use half. Chargrilled chicken sandwich with half bun, only half the…

CW-145 GW-130 9/1: 9/8: 146 (really really think this is water due to working out) 9/12: 9/19: 9/26: I have to make a commitment this time. I sabbotage myself every single time I get close to a goal--so this time I'm making my goal a little bigger, in hopes I will work even harder to get there! Once I get there, I am good…

I feel like I do this so much. I never quite get to the "best me". I lose, and then I have a week of "who cares, I can have an extra cookie, I'll start fresh tomorrow." Then that week leads to gain--obviously. Not much, maybe just a pound. But I feel like that one pound gained throws me into the danger zone. I even tell my…

I LOVE the Zone lifestyle!! I never counted blocks or anything though....I used formulazone.com and signed up for 3 months. It's very inexpensive and they plan your menus for you everyday. Literally the only times I'm never hungry are when I'm following a zone like menu. Check out the site, its great!

5'3, 144 pounds, US size 6, Small top/occasionally a M if it fits super tight. When I was 19, i was 120 pounds and a US size 0. It all has to do with bone structure (how dense your bones are), heredity, height and proportions!

Agree! Sometimes it's better to let yourself be "hungry" for a week to retrain your body that food will not be automatically a part of your nightly routine. It's so hard for me too, esp if I have a night where I actually get to watch a TV show or something. Immediately, my brain says "grab the SKinny Pop, grab the peanuts,…

Does anyone have recipes for the crock pot that require ground beef? Healthy recipes would be a plus. :)

I did weight watchers in 2008 to lose baby weight from our first baby. I did it online, and that was a mistake. I should have gone to meetings to be held accountable. Anyways, it wasn't near enough food for me. I only lost 8 pounds in 4 months or so. I counted calories along with figuring points for a week, just to see…
