I personally don't log it unless I've walked for more than an hour since I have a dog and I live in the city so I walk a lot as part of my daily life. I do have a desk job but I didn't register as sedentary but as moderately active. Also I'm a 15 minute walk from the gym so if the weather isn't bad I walk there as a warm…

I just joined yesterday and I'm starting out by trying a new class everytime I go that way I'll know which ones I like best :)

What seems to work for me and cheese (and most other "tempting" foods) is to cut out or serve myself one serving and then put the knife in the dishwasher, the cheese back in the fridge, and make sure anything else I'm eating is also on my plate and the rest put away. That way I reduce the temptation to get a larger helping…

You can make some breakfast muffins with oatmeal and applesauce, there are several under 100 cal recipes online, pick one that looks good :) Most freeze really well and can be defrosted in under one minute in the microwave :)

Hi everyone, can I join in? I'm 24, my name is Lex and here are my goals (also adding them to the bottom of the list) 1) I'd like to be 58.5kg by the end of the month, which is about a 2 pound loss from where I am now. 2) I'm joining a capoeira class and I want to be fit enough to keep up! 3) Be able to do level 3 of…

I love the indian and chinese buffets in my neighborhood. My problem is I love them too much. It's really hard to not just keep going back for more, especially the cheesy naan bread since I haven't found any that good anywhere else so if we're going I tend to gorge on the stuff.

I just did day 5 (not in a row, I've had 2 "break" days and a day of 30DS for a change) and I still feel sore but it's getting better. It is a hard workout but I can already see a difference in my body shape :)

Just thought of one more thing that hasn't been mentioned yet, but you say you're in college? I know that going to college for the first time was enough "stress" to delay my period for a couple of cycles (I wasn't sexually active either at the time). I handled the stress very well otherwise. The same happens whenever I…

OK got it :) I won't jog him, I'll just keep walking him and run around to play (short, fast bursts he seems to love) until he's grown :) I can already tell he enjoys steep hills and climbs, he seeks them out! This is good because even walking in hills is challenging for me.

The Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears and a few other catchy songs are on my current playlist.

I quit eating microwave pre-packaged meals.

I guess it depends on why you're doing it. One alternative if you like the taste of meat is to eat it less often but get it from good sources which treat the animals with respect while alive and when slaughtering. This is something I am considering but haven't started doing yet.

Did it today (4th day, but did the shred yesterday). I'm starting to feel stronger and more able to get through the DVD (but it's still tough!) I wonder if I'll be brave enough to try next level at the end of the week... Here's my victory so far: I haven't lost any weight but my body fat % has gone from 24.6% to 23% since…

I also agree about mentioning it to the owners although I doubt they'll do much since I'm sure they know their dogs get out. Is it possible to go on a detour? When running in my parent's village I avoid going past the farm because of the dogs there. They are nice dogs but I don't like being chased or barked at, even by…

Just adding to what everyone else said, but I know some foods cause bloating or water retention so if you improve your diet you can improve this. I'm still in the process of figuring out which foods help and which don't for myself.

Just don't get stuck in a cycle of guilt. You messed up, try to identify "why" if you can to learn from your mistake and move on. Today is a new day :)

This is a really great idea! I've made myself a ticker too! How do you measure how much ground you've covered every day?

I started on August 31 and I have done it 3 times (yesterday was an "off" day and I played Just Dance 2 for 40 minutes because I was too "broken" to do ripped in 30!) I am already noticing a difference in how well I can do the exercises. The first time I wasn't able to finish the 3d strengh training segment and I wasn't…

You could always start working out doing circuit training and creating a small calorie deficit (don't overdo it). No miracles but you might feel a difference and if you have a special event coming up you can "cheat" with spanx and a nice hairdo that slims your face.

How about homemade egg mcmuffins for breakfast? I know it's yummy and there's lots of protein. Other than that I'd make sure he has slightly bigger cuts of meat than you at meals and just generally bigger portions or let him go for seconds?

I'm so glad I saw this! I went back and adjusted my goals (they still say 1 pound per week is "recommended" in the settings even if your BMI is under 26). I feel like I now have a much more realistic (for me) calorie allowance.

This is just me, but I tend to cook with wine about once a week or a bit less often and drink wine with that meal, and the rest of the time I only drink if I'm offered a drink with friends, and never more than 2 or 3 drinks at a time (this happens about once a month) or I have a drink at a sidewalk café with friends.

I think I will go with capoeira for this reason. I hadn't thought of it that way, that everyone will be beginners or remembers being a beginner (not so much with swimming!). I also have never tried any martial arts and I think it's good to try new things :) If I end up not enjoying it I can always do something different…

I know I can't focus if I'm trying to read. Watching a show or TV is one thing but I still prefer music. If I have make-up on when I get to my workout spot I'm not going to remove it, even if I look like a racoon by the end. I prefer to avoid using soaps on my face too often and I'm washing up after working out anyway...

I believe he is committed but he just does not like the idea of counting calories. To be honest I didn't either until recently. But we have really changed our diet to heathier foods (more veggies, less red meats, more fish, more whole grains, better breakfasts, no or nearly no junk food, no more sodas, healthy snacks). His…
