Inner elbow pain during OHP
I have been having a strange pain when doing the OHP, but only in one arm, it's around the inner elbow and it almost, but not quite, feels like it's "popping". I don't get it with dumbbells. Any ideas? Should I stop the OHP until it goes away? I just didn't do OHP last time because of it, rather be safe!

Resistance bands & pull-ups & chin-ups question
So I've decided to get serious about my goal of pull-ups & chin-ups (I'd like to be strong enough to do at least one without assistance, going to be work to get there!) My gym has this set http://www.amazon.fr/Les-Bandes-Résistances-Fitness-Aérobic/dp/B00AC4EZU0/ref=pd_sim_sbs_sports_6 available. Or something similar as…

When did you first stall on each lift?
Just curious... was depressing to google this and have guys talk about stalling at weights I'd be considered super advanced if I could ever lift that much. I first stalled on OHP at 45 lbs Then bench at 62 then again at 64 lbs Still haven't stalled on deadlifts or squats (and I'm up to 101 lbs on squat, 108 lbs on…

Trying to figure out how much cardio to do.
And more specifically, what should I do? I am at 30.7% BF and I'd really like to lower that faster than what's been happening so far. I also wish the scale would move, which it really isn't doing even though I'm losing a bit on the tape measure. I have gone from 34% BF to 30.7% in a month but I have not lost much if any…

Favorite recipes from the book
I'm following the diet plan at 40/30/30, I did cut off 250 from what the book suggests as maintenance because I'm trying to lose some body fat. I hope that all the protein I'm getting and the small deficit will allow me to keep most of my muscle mass. This week I have been trying a few of the recipes. I've tried the…

Strength training goal-setting
I have a pretty specific question. I am planning on adopting a child, I'm still in the waiting period obviously, and my child might weigh up to 20 kg (if the kid is 3-4 years old, which is a possibility at this point, although an infant is also a less-likely possibility). Most parents build up to carrying their child…

Do you train with a HRM?
I have just started using one for the past three weeks, and I'm quite happy that I'm getting better at staying in the zone and controlling my pace. What are your heart rate "numbers"? My resting HR is 70, max is about 200, so I try to stay in the 147-173 zone while walking and jogging. I average at about 164 on most of my…

How is this fair?
My city has a special deal for a select population signing up for the next half-marathon. The 21 first MOMMIES to sign up get free personal training leading up to the half at a really nice gym, they get free entrance fees, and a free breakfast and a free "special" T-shirt. There are no other "special" deals or fun things…

Pilates with Exercise Ball
I did my very first pilates class at the gym, it was a 100% exercise ball class, also my first time using an exercise ball. I was made to feel awful because: a) I fell off at some point b) I was in horrid pain and it showed (during one of the loooooong plank-like exercises) and the woman next to me kept being snarky and…

buffet -- good idea?
My favorite restaurant is an indian buffet. The chef they have there is excellent, and each dish in the buffet tastes like it was made to order. The ambiance is wonderful and the waiters are wonderful. And their naan bread is the best I've ever tasted. I have tried many indian places in my city and none compare or come…

I got a "good job" from a trainer!!!
OK this is a victory for me because I've never been good at sports and my teachers have never or very rarely praised me. I just finished my first spin class and the trainer said I did a good job! I know she probably says that to everyone who finishes their first time but it still boosted my confidence!

Fruit & sugar
Hi everyone, I feel like I've been doing a decent job meeting most of my nutrition goals but I ALWAYS go over on sugars. I know that fruit is my problem. (ok, and ice cream. I try to cut down on that though) Is this really bad? I mean fruit is supposed to be good for you, right? I try to eat veggies too but I'm really a…

post-exercise routine at gym
For those who have a gym with sauna, swimming pool, jacuzzi, cold bath and hammam, what sort of "routine" do you use to relax after your workout? What benefits do you get from it? Today I did 7 minutes in the sauna, then cold bath for a minute, then 10 minutes in the sauna, 1 minute cold bath, then jacuzzi for 10 minutes.…

jogging with a dog
I have a few questions about jogging with a dog, mine is still young - 6 months - but he's a small breed (lhasa apso). Is he too young to go jogging with me (I don't run fast and I jog 20-30 minutes at a time, no more)? Is there anything I should know before trying to jog with him?

Gyms
Hi everyone, I was wondering what you all think of gyms? I am considering joining one but I'm unsure. Which features do you use and love, which ones are nice but not used much at all? How does going to the gym compare to working out with Jillian DVDs, on a home elliptical or running outside? Do you think it's worth the…

Which sport would you do?
I'm a student and I've been looking at the various sports I can do at university this year. There are 3 I'd like to try: Swimming Capoeira Yoga All 3 classes are 1h30 per week. So far my exercise routine looks like at least 30 minutes of walking every day (I have a dog and use public transportation), I'm starting ripped in…

calorie counting in the long term
Hi everyone! I am pretty new at this (joined today, but have already lost 5 pounds before joining). I haven't been formally counting my calories until now but I am committed to doing this in order to lose weight and also have a better balance in what I eat and where my calories are coming from. Until now I have just been…
