So I've decided to get serious about my goal of pull-ups & chin-ups (I'd like to be strong enough to do at least one without assistance, going to be work to get there!)
My gym has this set http://www.amazon.fr/Les-Bandes-Résistances-Fitness-Aérobic/dp/B00AC4EZU0/ref=pd_sim_sbs_sports_6 available. Or something similar as far as the handles.

Most of the videos online show bands that are loops.
How would you attach this particular type of band to the bar? I'm using the smith machine for my pull ups

Sorry, I have no clue, but I'll bump it to the top for you.

Put the band over the bar (two ends each side) and put foot through the both handles. You may need a bench to raise you up depending on how high up the bar is and how tight the band becomes. I am used to the full bands (look like giant elastic bands), but this is how others use these for pull ups and chin ups.
