That's awesome! And thanks for your service. We appreciate you!

Yes. Bye bye scale! It was getting me down. :)
-
Way to go!

You can add it to strength training. If you want to get the calorie burn on your cardio, you'll most likely need a heart rate monitor that tracks that for you. Anyone have another suggestion?

Oh yeah, and a beer!

I think a little splurge is fine, but it's hard for people to stop sometimes. I'm planning to take all my own sides and a dessert -- all low carb and sugar free. That way, I will have treats, so I don't have to listen to everyone make comments about what I'm eating. I have a delicious collard green recipe I got from Blaine…

I use very low carb when I'm feeling especially bloated or am hungry all the time. Once I get past a certain point, I can eat a little more, as long as the cravings don't come back. I recommend restricting carbs, especially sugars and refined flours. :)

Beginning goal is150, but I hope to settle around 135. Lean, strong and healthy.

I moved to Missouri in 2002. Been here ever since. I'm on a journey to lose a total of 85 pounds, one pound at a time. Currently, I've lost 26 pounds and I've just begun weight training last week. I am in the Kansas City suburbs. :)

It sounds about right by what I've been reading on bodybuilding.com. A day of rest in between strength training sounds good. And, the guy at my supplement store (has lost over 200 pounds himself) recommended I do cardio after strength, but I do it the opposite just to warm up first. I guess if the trainer is fit and get…

I love your wedding photos!! Feel free to friend if you like. :)

Awesome news! I bought my new jeans two months ago at an expensive boutique, so mine are going to resale shop so I can get me some more. :)

Haha! STOP THE INSANITY!!!! Yeah, good times. TBH, I gained a ton of weight doing fat free in the 90's. Oh well, memories. I've been on MFP since September. Lost 26 pounds give or take so far. Started body building last week and I'm "pumped" (pun intended). Friend if you like. K

I believe that would fall under that category of Basal Metabolic Rate. MFP should give you that when you put in all your general stats. Good luck and do a few squats by your desk from time to time for good measure. :)

I went to Kohl's and got an undershirt "Control It" brand. In the time it takes to do one situp, you have instant control and inches lost. Just a temporary measure, but in a pinch, it makes my clothes look and feel better on me, and I just keep trucking on the body building and good eating. :)

Go to bodybuilding.com. you can find TONS of exercises to do at home with no special equipment. My personal fave: squats. Burn it up!

I had trouble with this a few years back. I trimmed short and permed. Seemed to stop the losing, but my hair didn't thicken up too good until I got the stress out of my life. Good luck! And, congrats on the weight loss. :)

Way to go!!! You looked beautiful then. You look beautiful now. What an accomplishment! Thanks for sharing your story with us. May I send you a friend request? I am right behind you. :)

I gotta "weigh in" (haha -- pardon the pun) on the Nutella discussion. I think anyone who has lost 40 pounds, 60 pounds, even just a few pounds, and they have had Nutella or whatever during their process, I think they ought to just keep on trucking and don't worry about what anyone says about one product or another. If…

WTG! I had to copy the link into browser bar, in case anyone else isn't able to see the pics here. :)

@BrewerGeorge: AWESOME COMMENT!!!! ROFL

I hate to be so blunt, but I think your friend is a moron on this topic. :)
-
I think everyone struggles with wanting to please another person at times. The trouble comes in when we become dependent on another person's approval. I dealt with this quite a bit with my husband. I gained almost a hundred pounds after we met, and I figured he didn't find me beautiful any more, but he assured me that he…

You are amazing! Congratulations on sticking with a plan that has improved your life so much. I'll bet every sacrifice feels worth it now! :) Thanks for sharing your amazing story with us. All the best!!

IMHO, what you are talking about is not true happiness, but contentment. Can a person be content with their body? The answer is a resounding YES! However, to become content is a choice and an exercise we do just like exercising the body. You must CHOOSE to be content with the way things are. Even if you plan to make…

it's not the vampires that I enjoy, it's the romance. we're just girls at heart. :)

For me, I try to keep the battle reduced to "Today Only". It helps me to stay on track if I don't focus on yesterday (or last week) or on tomorrow. Today is all I have. When I first started, I wrote down words to this effect: One meal at a time. One workout at a time. One pound at a time. I have to live in the moment to…

Yes! I am 41 and have been off and on experiencing perimenopause for several years. I wouldn't worry, but if the hotflashes get too intense, I use soy and black cohosh capsules. :) Good luck!

I started out at 220. My baby goal is 150, but moreso, I am working toward getting ripped and lean (which I've never been, even on my thinnest day). I'm 41, re-married, and a mother of three. Feel free to send a friend request. Good luck! Kellie Alexander

I think peanut butter can be a great treat, esp when craving sugar or something sweet. I wouldn't use it every day and I wouldn't use it as part of my meals, but a little now and then -- and log it -- shouldn't be a problem. :)
