Hi there! Feel free to add me :) we can do this!
-
my favorite are Amy's (their light and lean line is even better!), but I try to limit myself to 4 a week... they're quite pricy
-
google "the vegetarian times", they have a vegetarian book called "eat great, lose weigth" that you can download for free. They have another one with vegetarian, healthier comfort foods. hope that helps! Dani

Welcome! I think you'll find this site as useful as most of us. Of course you have to do your best for this to work, but having so many supportive people around helps a lot. Good luck and enjoy your journey! You can do it :)

I have the same question. Why do we keep seeing sugar as evil? Glucose is the brain's fuel... I understand cutting processed sugars and stuff like that, but fruits? milk? hmmm not for me.
-
I just came across another post of yours, where you say that sometimes you're 200 cals under your goal... that certainly doesn't help
-
I honestly don't care much about sugars. I mean, I try not to eat things with added sugar (like breakfast cereal or yogurt with added stuff), but I can't do without fruits (I have 3 a day, give or take). Most of my days I'm over my sugars, and I'm still losing weight. I try to make healthy choices and stay away from highly…

In amazon you can get food scales for ~10 bucks (and more, of course), they work nicely and give you a better idea. I can't live without my scale and my measuring cups/spoons. I'd say increase the intensity of your cardio workouts, and take your measurements! You might be losing inches... Good luck! Dani

Welcome Kelly! You've come to the right place... this site and the people in it are just amazing :) Good luck and enjoy the journey! Dani
-
I'd say I'm on the way to become a runner, but if that also works, feel free to add me :)
-
Oh wait! So water and multivitamins aren't the answer? What an epiphany!
-
gotta love that feeling! good job!

You ROCK!! amazing job. You're certainly an inspiration. Thanks for sharing

I'd say: work out harder, and earn yourself some extra calories... then you can even have bread! I can't imagine my life without bread haha, I just make sure it fits in my calorie budget for the day. As someone said above, cutting on everything you enjoy will make you feel deprived (and miserable), that won't help. Wish…

YES eat your excercise calories, even more so if your net is 1200 cal, that's low enough. My net goal is 1200 as well, and if I burn ~400 cal (acording to MFP) I'll eat at least 350 of them. I've been losing more that 1 lb/week for almost 2 months now, so I can say it works. EAT THEM! Hope that helps Dani

Hit 55 a couple of days ago! I'm in! Dani Wait, I should say something about myself... Let's see: I'm from Argentina, living in East Lansing, MI (grad student in MSU - chemistry dept). I'm 26, I live with my boyfriend, who has been a great inspiration to get off the couch and try to become a runner (I'll get there!). I'm…

I hear you! There are some hard times we have to go through. As some people said, don't deprive yourself of everything you like; make sure you have those things with moderation. We're all here to help each other :) Wish you the best of luck!
-
That's the scientifically approved answer, I'm sure!
-
technically, you're "eating" ATP in every thing you eat...
-
thanks for sharing! I'm gonna try these soon!

Welcome! If you're looking for support, you've come to the right place. Good luck and enjoy the journey to a healthier you! :)

I did a bit of research about nuts not so long ago, because I wasn't so sure about them. My conclusion? pistachios get the first prize, closely followed by almonds (good thing about almonds: it's easier to get them raw and unsalted than with pistachios). Walnuts have more fat and less protein. Pecans are even "worse". I'm…

Hi Amara! Welcome :) Congrats on your weight loss! If you need more motivation, this is great place to be. Wish you the best!
-
Welcome! I agree, you seem to be on the right track, so keep it up! :) Good luck and enjoy the journey!

I totally understand what you say! I think that going to counseling sessions with someone that specializes in nutrition/eating disorders and such could be helpful for you. MPF has been a great help for me, because it helped me open my eyes; some years ago I lost ~25 lbs by eating too little, and at some point I got…

I have really long days too, and I try to do a larger number of smaller meals on the longer days. That keeps me going. As long as you don't go over your calories, you should be fine.
-
Hi Bono! I wish you the best of luck. Take it one day at a time :)
-
great job!! congrats :D

Don't go for trash food, but choose high-calorie healthy stuff instead. My favorite? nuts and seeds! they are packed with healthy fats, they also have proteins and they're delicious :) nut butter (peanut, almond, cashew, you name it) is good also. I like some protein bars, the LUNA ones are amazing! They make for a great…
