  • If you're working out intensely I'd personally eat back my protein before I ate my carbs...but I don't eat back much if any. It's a highly debatable subject on this site...

  • Good one Dave. There are also 100 calorie packs of junk food, but no one argues that they "aren't that bad for you." It's like bad, in moderation. 2.37 a can! I wish I could afford to spend 15 bucks a week on beverages alone...
  • Shannon, I recently bought a Polar F4 also and while it is a great tool, after two weeks I had to send it in for warranty repair. It has been sucking a battery every 2 days, and the manual says they should last for around 2 years. See if your battery is dead after a few days; if so, contact Polar and they will send you a…
  • Hi Mya! Don't feel like you are being left behind the P90X train! You most definitely could add your hour long walks after you did P90X...but you might not want to. If you aren't used to lifting weights or a lot of strength training you'll probably be POOPED after one workout. However, sometimes I do cardio after my…
  • Just got my BB email about it too! If anyone gets it, let me know how it tastes...it is a weird green color in the photo but I won't hold that against it.
  • I agree with that! If I saw you in there, I'd think, that girl is brave. You can do it! Or just put in your headphones and jam out. No problems!
  • Good morning everyone! Well, as I expected, upper body IS SORE! No doubt. A good sore though. Strawberry, gotta love P90X. Plyo is the hardest, and I've heard stories of people being sore for a long time. When I first started, I was constantly hungry too! Are you taking protein shakes? I think that you could take one of…
  • Chest and Back X done! Well, my upper body is probably going to be shot for the next few days:grumble: I hate it, but I love it! Welcome to new members! Way to go everyone. JessT, great job on keeping with it during school. It can be really tough. Hi Jessmomof3! I knew you never stopped bringing it. Looking at your…
  • Morning everyone! I have to work this afternoon, but of course I'll be back to bring it later tonight. Have a good day!
  • Low-carb does not necessarily equal high protein. Have you seen the study of the Inuit diets? They ate almost no carbs (ketogenic) but still were able to work for long hours strenuously. They saved fatty cuts of meat for themselves and gave the leaner ones to the animals. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, just that the…
  • Good luck to you! Though sounds like you have all you need now to just do it, no luck needed. Ahh, the misconceptions about low-carb diet plans. People who have thoroughly researched the plans find that of course you eat carbs, in the form of many vegetables, nuts, fruits, legumes, etc. Obviously, this is not unhealthy at…
  • Did you keep track of your calories at all when you first did low-carb? It seems that you had great success with it before. I have heard of the "Golden Shot" story with Atkins/low-carb, but I don't necessarily believe it. I'm sure there are thousands of people who re-induce/start over again after high-carb benders over the…
  • I think low-carb is criminalized too much; I guess it really depends what your goals are. Most people in bodybuilding generally do some sort of low- carb diet (or what the general masses would consider low carb) when they are in their cutting (fat loss) phase. Some even go to a Ketogenic diet (which is virtually no carbs).…
  • Have you ever tried just counting your carbs and not really worrying about calories? Usually calories naturally fall into place when you eat a lower-carb diet, granted you don't gorge. I think most women who follow low-carb have no troubles coming in at around 1400-1600 daily, which is a decent number whether you're…
  • Way to go everyone! Mya you aren't messing around! Nerve, don't be fooled by YogaX, I burn close to 400 calories with it. I sweat like a pig during the vinyasa and balance pose sections....it definitely isn't an easy day by any means. Meisje, it looks like you're eating really healthy; the only thing I can think of is to…
  • Kenpo X knocked out! Nice to see the weekend isn't stopping us from Bringing IT. Good night!
  • Second the Pure Protein bars. Peanut butter from them is good...not chalky tasting.
  • Hey Bring IT team! Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. It's pretty nice out here, so I just went for a short run and let me just say, I have a LOT to work on. I'm finally feeling better and back in the groove, but of course I have been bringing it with the nutrition. I'll probably be a bit scarce over the next few…
  • Yep! 22 today! I'm officially old...and on Spring Break for the next week! Woohoo. I've been needing a break from school. Just have some work next week and that's it. I am feeling better today so I will be bringing it later on. Next week I should be able to go hard since I won't have anything else to worry about. Sounds…
  • Hello and Good Morning Bring IT team! Well, to start with I'm still not feeling up to par. Kind of in a groggy headachey feel right now. I'm not sure what's going on but I do hope that will go away by tonight so I can do my workout without feeling like death. Tomorrow is my birthday, and my mother insists that I have a…
  • Hey everyone! Glad to see we're all bringing it. I'll be honest, I've been really under the weather the past few days. Headaches, fatigue, aches, overall feeling exhausted. Not sure what's going on. I got off to a false start on exercise yesterday and today. Got 15 minutes in and was too tired to continue. Muscles hurt?…
  • Meat and cheese roll-ups, hardboiled eggs, almonds, chicken/turkey breast.
  • Meisje, I forget that you are back in Belgium and way ahead of us. Now I want cheese:bigsmile:
  • Yeah sweet, I agree with nerve. No sense in working those every day. You're putting slight tears in the muscle tissue and they need a day to repair themselves. Also, if you're not dropping body fat at the same time, you run the risk of bulking those muscles up and maybe even increasing your waist size a little bit. Or…
  • Hey there Laird, I find that tapering throughout the day helps many people. As in "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a queen, and dinner like a pauper." You are breaking your fast when you eat in the morning, so really, you are getting your metabolism revved up again. You need the calories in the morning...and eating…
  • I'd also comment that most people probably overestimate how many calories they burn if they don't have a HRM. I heard somewhere that when you are trying to use the one on the machines, enter your weight at about 10-15 pounds less than what you are, and then at the end, subtract 15% of the total. Sometimes these are just…
  • The chest strap heart rate monitor is the best for measuring this. The ones on the machines aren't really all that accurate. I usually burn 500-600 per day, sometimes more. I do P90X though, which is quite intense. I have heard that HIIT (High intensity interval training) burns a ton of calories. You need to be working…
  • Hey everyone! I'll be back later tonight to Bring IT! Thinking some P90X Core and Kenpo...we'll see how sprite I'm feeling though. Great job on the early starts today! M
  • I think many body builders cycle their carbs, either doing a 3 day low, 1 day high, or doing 3 weeks cutting with low-carb, followed by 3 high days and back to low cycle... I don't know about calorie cycling.
  • You could probably put a thread in chit-chat, fun and games...don't see why not.
