I was a Coronary Care Nurse & even ECG telemetry heart monitoring equipment costing many thousands of pounds will give erratic data under certain circumstances, as others have said electrical contact must be a priority conducting gel if necessary, change battery, but you just may have a duff unit.

The original research that all this diet / fitness industry BS is based on was done in the 50's iirc, this research stated the average liquid an adult required in certain conditions ie ambient temp exertion levels etc, it went on in conclusion to say that ALL food in the diet could be included in this figure, ie even steak…

Stick with the pro's advice sweetheart, this site has some spurious figures!

Running = 0.75 cals x body weight (lbs) x miles Walking = 0.53 cals x body weight (lbs) x miles
-
You will burn the same per mile regardless of speed
-
What is hard to understand here cardio IS weight training, when I run I push 200 lbs + with every single step, perhaps 8000 to 9000 reps per hour, how is that not weight training?
-
I would count on no more than 50 cal per mile at that speed (around 12 mph) therfore 1150 1200 cals, I believe MFP is a little optimistic in it's estimates, if you don't think you have burnt as many you don't have to eat as many and / or bump up speed & distance.

How tight is your schedule if you aint got time to boil an egg?
-
More food & more excersise required
-
Thereis no such thing as a bad food, only excessive amounts or insufficient excercise to match it!
-
I have noticed the calories burnt count for the cycling I do looks a bit optimistic, probably 50% too high, (it gives about 75 Cals per mile) therefore suggesting too much food, I have just subracted the difference I calculate from the suggested food intake.
