I had to lose over 40 pounds before I moved from one size to the next so I can understand your frustration! Do you have a picture of you in the suit from last year that you could compare to a new picture from today? That may make it easier to see the changes in your body. Congratulations on your weight loss that is a…

This. It can take weeks before you start to see some changes. (I started focusing on factors besides the scale because it was too discouraging to feel like I was working my butt off and nothing was happening according to the scale) It also helps to weigh all of your food to make sure that your calorie counts are as…

I am from WV too, feel free to add me!

Have you recalculated your calorie needs since you have lost weight? You may need fewer calories than what you did before? With 30 pounds left to lose you may need to set your goal to 1 pound a week if you haven't already to see if that helps. Possibly changing up your exercise routine or adding in strength training may…

Couple of quick questions that will help others to be able to help you meet your calorie needs. Did you weigh all of your foods on a scale to try and get the most accurate calorie count? What about any liquids or condiments that you used on your foods? After working out, how did you determine your calories burned while…

Greek yogurt instead of mayo in tuna or chicken salad. English whole grain muffins instead of hamburger buns for hamburgers (saves about 30 calories, but more importantly the meat fits the bun!) Greek yogurt versus regular yogurt. Dark chocolate versus milk chocolate or candy bars. Using spices to jazz up food instead of…

Try magazine websites like Oxygen, Strong Fitness, Fitness Blender videos on Youtube, or the Living Fit Revolution website for beginner kettlebell workouts. I personally like kettlebell workouts because they are versatile and keep your heart rate up. Also, check to see if you get a personal training session free with your…

I tried the program a few times and never could finish it, but I joined a running group for the social support a couple of months ago and completed my first all running 5k a few days ago. Even though, I am not doing the program feel free to add me for support as you work your way to a 5k and farther!

I got a dog from the shelter too and I try to take him for a one mile jog several times a week because he acts crazy otherwise! Pick a few simple goals to work on over the next few months and once you complete them work on some new goals. For example, taking your dog for a 15 minute walk everyday and build up to a 30…

You may want to see if there are running or workout groups in your area that you can join to help you find some friends in your area that have similar workout goals to yours. This way you have some workout buddies in case he has to take trips like this again and friends that can help you get acclimated to the new area.

I go out with friends every couple of weeks, and I try to drink water at dinner because I would rather have a dessert than alcohol. I try to eat other healthy items that I know won't make me feel miserable and bloated, and typically try to share the dessert with all of my friends at the table to help me out calorie wise. I…

Best advice is to take it slow, invest in a food scale to weigh everything to ensure you are logging your food as accurately as possible, don't cut any foods out of your diet and exercise moderation for the calorie dense foods that you enjoy (I eat a square of dark chocolate every day at lunch and dinner instead of a whole…

I have been getting rid of mine, except for an outfit or two to use as comparison from where I was before to where I am now. For me, keeping them was an excuse to let myself go back to being big enough to wear them again. I try to find stuff on clearance when I transition from one size to another to decrease expense. I…

I have Saucony shoes that I absolutely love and work really well for me. I hate to feel as if my foot is sliding around too much in my shoes.

If you can buy a kettlebell to improve strength and work on your core. Living Fit Revolution website has some good workouts for beginners that you can do at home that will help you get stronger. I would continue to do the running and yoga to increase endurance and flexibility. I use the kettlebells a couple times a week,…

I weigh 231 pounds and on a 2 mile run for me (about 25 minutes) I burn about 8 calories a minute according to my heart rate monitor. My burn would be about 200 calories and may be a little higher than your burn since I weigh almost 60 pounds more than you. If you are using MFP calorie burns, I would only eat 1/3 - 1/2 of…

Best advice I can give you is to make small changes at first until they become habits. For example, walking 20 extra minutes everyday, changing your deep dish meat lovers pizza to a thin crust with one meat and so,e veggies, drinking more water and less juice and pop. Don't try to change everything at once because it can…

I typically don't eat back my exercise calories, especially if they have been estimated by MFP ( they are grossly exaggerated). If you are eating back exercise calories that MFP estimated you may want to eat 1/3 to 1/2 of those back and see how your weight loss is progressing over 4-6 weeks and make adjustments if needed.

I have had to buy transitional clothes a few times now, and I have been hitting clearance racks or using $10 off coupons from JC Penney's and Kohl's. I was also fortunate in that I had some smaller clothes that I had saved before I gained weight again that I have been able to wear now that they fit again. Definitely find a…

Instead of using the scale as your weigh of measuring your success try some other things that can be super motivating when the scale doesn't budge or moves up. For example, a before picture to compare with monthly pictures to showcase the changes, measuring your inches each month to see how many issues you lose over…

Make sure that you are weighing and logging all of your food and drinks that you consume each day to make sure that your calorie counts are accurate. Are you using the machines, MFP, or a heart rate monitor to do determine your calorie burns for your gym time? It took a while before I could noticeable tell results. I went…

Kettlebells are amazing! I need to use mine more than what I do!

At your current weight, it takes more calories to maintain that weight than if you weighed less. You will notice as you lose weight and reset your goals (about every ten pounds for now and every five when you get closer to your goal) that the number of calories that you need to lose weight will get lower. Also, remember…

You may see results in a few weeks or a few months. I had a lot to lose and it seemed like it was forever before I could tell a difference! I highly recommend that you take your measurements monthly and keep an outfit that is too tight now (try it on monthly to see how loose it gets over time) as ways to see your results…

I walked a Color Run in September last year and had the coloring everywhere! In fact, I can still find it in random places in my car! I completely understand why your husband laughed at you when he first saw you after the race.

I would set it at moderately active and then not count the calories burned from work since you have told MFP that you are "exercising" while at work, otherwise it will be like you are double dipping. Try this for 4-6 weeks and evaluate how this worked for your goals. At 5'7" and 135 pounds, you sound like you are close a…

This right here! I always thought that I had to run a certain speed or distance in order to be considered a runner. About 3 months ago, I joined a local beginner's running group and the guy that is the head of the group runs marathons and had us run a mile our first time out with a 2 minute break at the half-way point.…

I have fibromyalgia and my knees and other joints seemed to hurt 90% of the time! When I first started out exercising at almost 300 pounds. I rode a stationary bike for 20 minutes 3 times a week and a few minutes on the elliptical a couple of times a week. I focused more on my calorie intake and dropped 20 pounds in…

Definitely weigh out your food and if you are using MFP's calories burned estimates for your exercising, cut that number in half because MFP grossly exaggerates the calorie burn. These two things will help you to get a better idea of your calories in and calories out each day and a more accurate idea of how big a calorie…

Awesome job on your weight loss! You are doing fantastic!
