when i train with my team, we do a series of warm-ups including cardio, strength (mostly abs), and stretching all in the forms of "dances." and then we walk through the program.

Has anyone been to Hunter Mountain in NY? It's only 2 hours from me so going there would make day trips much easier. I usually go to Mount Snow in VT, but that's 4-5 hours away.

i too have GERD and acid reflux, but since it's vinegar i've been too scared to try it. there is no medicine to keep my reflux under control because of other medical issues, so when it happens to be under control i try my best to not do anything to set it off. i'm glad you had success with the apple cider vinegar!

^^ agreed!! luckily i skate mostly mornings so all the little kids aren't there. but i still get a taste of that holiday music. i myself am not doing any shows because i don't do freestyle anymore. tear tear. the shows at my rink are usually for the younger kids anyways.

i always close my eyes when i do a layback...staring up makes me too dizzy! back when i was 9 or 10 i flipped out of a layback (literally) and cracked my chin open! for a while after that i was too scared to do them but my team needed me to do one in the program.

i think my synchro team is somewhere around $8000 for the season. and my dance coaches get paid about $55 for 30 minutes
-
that's cheap! i have a rink card so i get a discounted price, so for an hour i think it's $11 for the freestyle. but i teach learn to skate and instead of getting paid i get coupons for free ice time, so i work for my sessions.

hey i'm nikki! i have my gold medal in moves in the field, my intermediate freestyle (then i had to quit), and i'm working on my pre-gold dances. i've been skating since i was 3 and competing in both freestyle and synchro since i was 6. i competed in my first synchro nationals when i was 8, and since then i've competed at…

i disagree. as soon as you eat something, your metabolism gets jump started. so the earlier you eat the sooner you jump start your metabolism for the day, so the more calories your body will burn throughout the day. it's the same with exercising in the morning. both speed up your metabolism for the day. that's why it's…

this is very true. i wasn't thinking of it that way.

i personally think that this week's challenge should be how many hours you exercise, not how many calories you burn. because everyone in this challenge is at a different weight, which means that they burn different amounts of calories. so two people could do the same exercise at the same intensity for the same amount of…
-
thank you!! i felt it was unfair for people to be using different methods of calculating calories burned.
-
trust me, i know how you feel. my coaches have made me lie on the ice before because the rink didn't have a bag of ice to give me.

love my new polar ft7!!

but would my sunday exercise count for the next week? because i do a lot of exercise on sundays...about 4 hours and at least 1000 calories.
-
like last challenge, i weigh in on monday mornings because i have a huge exercise day on sundays. is it still okay to give you my weight on mondays?

i also PCOS and it is more difficult to lose weight. my doctor put me on metformin which does help. but we lose weight slower than other people because of the way our bodies work. the PCOS makes our bodies produce more insulin which makes you gain weight, which is why it's such a struggle to lose. for me, it's just…

white carbs are also known as simple carbs. whole wheat carbs are also known as complex carbs. it takes your body more work (and essentially more calories) to break down a complex carb than a simple carb. simple carbs are also turned into sugar in your body.
