Thank you! It seems that a lot of people are freaking out, thinking this will be the case with them, too. I don't know all the science behind it, but I had a feeling it has something to do with the extreme methods and rapid weight loss the contestants go through. I think comparing those contestants to people who lose…

I disagree. There are ways to enjoy your good and pleasure of eating while still maintaining health. I'm finding that by using herbs, I get a lot of enjoyment out of my food.

THIS. Use fresh or frozen foods. I'm a salt lover, too, so I've started using herbs and spices instead. Last night I had some veggie pasta (Garden Delight) with squash and tomatoes, and I added some fresh cilantro, dried basil, and a little dill weed. It added a lot of flavor without needing salt.

I had $300 in Apple store credit from recycling a couple of iPhones. I splurged and got the Beats Solo2 Wireless (I'd ever pay that much for headphones on my own!). They are awesome! Comfortable and GREAT sound. But they are $299 (with my credits I paid $23 for the tax!).

It gives a lot of extra calcium (50% more than regular milk). Also, I like the taste, and it's lower calories (I use the unsweetened vanilla). It's also a little richer than regular milk, so I like it better in smoothies and with protein powder. I'm not lactose-intolerant, but I do have acid reflux, and the almond milk…

I can't do the two Oreos because it would lead to 4 Oreos, then 6, then 8, and so on...sweets are a trigger for overeating for me. I stick to sugar-free ice cream. But to each his own. If you can eat two Oreos, go for it. Just allow for it in your calories.

First of all, I commend you for battling the anorexia. It's such a tough thing to fight, and you will have to battle it on some level the rest of your life. But you've shown tremendous courage in getting help, so kudos to you for that! If your therapist is only focused on your weight, then I'd find a new therapist.…

That always raises red flags for me. If I have to register before I can begin to get any real information, I'm not going there. Because once I register, I'm on their radar AND their mailing list. Give me the info, and if I'm interested, I'll jump in and go further with it. But it makes it seem like they're hiding something.

Get a fitting somewhere. Whether you are a pronator or supinator plays a huge role in what shoes to get. Pronators need arch support, while supinators need lots of extra cushion (this is me). A shoe that works great for me will probably be murder on the feet of a pronator.

I'd take it with a grain of salt. These are people that lost weight very rapidly while eating low calorie diets and exercising for HOURS every day. That's a vastly different scenario from those losing slowly while eating a reasonable number of calories and doing reasonable amounts of exercise. I don't think you can really…

I would be interested to see how this information applies to someone losing slowly through proper diet (meaning sufficient calories instead of this extremely low calorie stuff) and reasonable amounts of exercise. The Biggest Loser is not "reality"--who has time to exercise 7-8 hours a day? I do one hour per day, and some…

It is definitely possible to lose weight without exercise. But you miss out on the benefits that exercise brings, which are numerous. And exercise doesn't have to be crazy and high-impact to be beneficial. Just taking some brisk walks has serious benefits for your heart, muscles, bones, etc.

Remember, if you've been inactive and start working out, ANY type of exercise is going to hurt. I've been exercising for two months and yesterday pressure-washed my house--I am so sore it's ridiculous. The pressure- washing just worked my muscles in ways different from the workouts I've been doing. Take that soreness as a…

See, if I keep my big clothes "just in case", it makes it that much easier to gain back. I have to get rid of them if I want to stay motivated. :)

I currently have 3 pairs of jeans that fit (one pair my mom gave me). One is soon to be too big. Shirts are a challenge--I'm still big-busted (though I am slowly losing there, too), so I still need a little larger size there, but too big and they look like maternity clothes since my bust causes them to blouse out badly in…

Don't let him win. He's abusive. If you need help getting out, turn to the social services agencies in your area to help you. The longer you stay, the more he will beat down your self-esteem, making it that much harder for you to leave. You are worth fighting for, and there will be a man out there that understands that. He…

Not for me, thanks. But they can do what they want. I just find it uncomfortable because I'm so used to shaving it.

Shaming anyone for any reason is not acceptable. We should view people for who they are and their contribution to society. Adele is a great example; she's overweight but an incredible singer, so what people remember about her first and foremost is her incredible talent. HOWEVER--acceptance of the obesity epidemic in this…

I had a Flex and then got the Blaze when it came out. I get a much more accurate picture of my calorie burn than what MFP gives me.

Change things up. I was getting bored with doing the weight machines and elliptical all the time, so I started going to BodyPump. Totally reinvigorated me! I just signed up for two virtual races (money goes to charity) that will provide me with motivation for the next couple of months. Maybe take a break and find a new…

I had $300 in Apple Store credit from recycling some iPhones; I used it to get the Beats wireless. Oh, my gosh--the sound is incredible. When I sweat I just wipe the ear pads off.

I can cross my legs again without the top leg slipping off constantly! I also had to have my dad punch two extra holes in my belt, and those holes are now too big as well. :)

I'd agree--diet is not the "easy part" for me either. I love carbs (potatoes, pasta, etc.) and sweets. It's tough to stay away from the sweets and make the switch to whole grain carbs. For me, I just had to tell myself, "suck it up, buttercup--if you want to lose, this is what you have to do". I find that if I shop for…

Some of this requires you to just force yourself to do it. No one can do it for you. Try making small changes to your diet instead of drastic changes. Maybe the first week, cut out sodas for more water and substitute Splenda or Stevia in your tea, coffee, etc. The next week, try adding more veggies. Then eliminate…

You could outrun it, but it may not be healthy to do so. Eating 1500 calories of crap and burning 2000 calories will still cause weight loss, but you will likely be unhealthy because of the lack of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients necessary.

Usually that's a sign of dehydration. Be sure to drink plenty of water before your walk, and I'd consider carrying a water bottle with you and drink as you go. While I love the idea of bursting fat cells ( :) ), dehydration can be serious, so make sure you're drinking plenty. I also read that it can be a cause that you are…

I have had my blaze for just under two days. It seems accurate (I can watch my step count as I walk!). I debated between it and an Apple Watch, but I decided an Apple Watch was too expensive. After I've used my Blaze for a couple more days (haven't been to the gym with it yet), I'll post a review.

Actually, my Fitbit counts what I do on the elliptical as steps. So I don't log any exercise in MFP and let my Fitbit do it all.

I play games on my iPad or work on a basket (I'm a basket weaver) or clean my firearms (also an NRA Pistol Instructor). Keeps my hands busy so I'm less likely to want to eat. If I get to where I just really want something, I'll have flavored water or a cup of coffee (I use Stevia and sugar free creamer so it's low-calorie).
