  • When I get advice that makes me feel offended, it's usually because it's the exact advice I need in order to make a positive change. Also, going to McDonald's for a salad is like going to a crack house for vitamins--you're probably not going to get what you really want and you're financially supporting drug dealers.
  • I wouldn't. I enjoy feeling healthy and exercising way too much.
  • Diet pills are not only a scam but dangerous. If your main goal in weight loss is to lose weight right now as fast you possibly can, chances are you'll not only fail, but you'll be disappointed with how fast any results you do see disappear. If I ever wanted to succeed, losing weight HAD to be about a lifelong decision to…
  • What are we supposed to talk about if we don't offer our opinions? Take what you like and leave what you don't. Do not, ever, ever take anything anyone on the internet says personally. Most people mean well, and those who don't are just insecure. Also, I'm sorry but McDonald's is poison.
  • And THAT'S the attitude that separates the men from the boys :) Kudos!!
  • For me, reaching my goals is the reward. I've been having to buy new clothes all along (a pity, I know), and with all the healthy changes I've made, so many other great rewards have come along. And once I reach my goal, I'll create a new goal--not necessarily a lower weight, but maybe a fitness challenge or a health goal…
  • Just my own, personal opinion--the egg muffins sound very high in fat. I've always felt that it's best to start your day with little to no fat. BUT different people find that different things work--if you're getting healthy on egg muffins, egg on, sister! :)
  • My motto is "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a beggar." That's the best for your metabolism--to have your biggest meal at the beginning of the day. I have: 1/2 cup steel-cut, rolled oats, cooked in hot water, and then I add to it: 1 tbsp millet 1 tbsp flaxseed A handful of berries (usually…
  • Deeeeep breath. I struggle with this at times too, BUT it became easier as time went on. The more I saw how great I felt from eating the right foods during the week, the less I wanted the foods that made me feel crappy on the weekends. Consider keeping a journal of how you feel after you eat. Note the differences between…

  • After losing about 10 lbs, I actually stopped using it to log my food/exercise on a daily basis. I only use "log" if I feel I need to "get back on track." Once you start to learn what works best for your body, you stick with it and the good habits come so naturally that you don't need to track every last morsel anymore. I…
  • I am on Loestrin FE 24 and have lost 16 pounds in 20 weeks. (EDIT: But the pill had NOTHING to do with the weight loss--I've been on Loestrin for years, I'm just pointing out that this is what I take!) I will say this though: Your plateau may have nothing to do with the pill--in fact, I'm not doctor, but I doubt it has…
