My cheat day involved a bowl of trifle and a very large piece of toblerone cheesecake. Tasted nice, don't regret eating it but remembered why I shouldn't eat like that because I felt sick afterwards. Still very vivid in my memory, so last weekend at a family gathering where my SIL made 4 very nice cakes I happily declined,…

I average around 150, not that I'm aiming for that, it just seems to be where I end up at the end of the day. If you are feeling good and you're losing your weight slowly then don't change it, if it's not working or you're not feeling quite right then change things around a little maybe. Only you know what your body needs…

Definately eat someting before, or even if you buy a subway roll or something to take in. We don't buy anything from the footy anymore, mostly because it's my little protest for the obscene prices. Oh, and Go Pies!!

My boys don't eat their lunches at school because they are "too busy". I still pack them sandwiches everyday for my peace of mind, throw in a muffin and some biscuits which always get eaten. As long as they have a good breakfast and have plenty of healthy choices when they raid everything in the house afterwards, then I…

I found that too!!! Always thought we were doing the right thing eating low-fat, never had a fatty diet in the first place so we were going way over the sodium and sugar levels.

^^ This. And I read labels much better now and make better choices.

Have a look at this site, http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html . It's an exercise and muscle directory, I like to look at it when I get a new program. It tells you all the muscles that work for a particular exercise, or what exercise to do for a particular muscle.

I am not judging. You didn't say what your medical condition was until much further down in this topic so I was under the assumption you had recently been told this by your doctor, hence my reasoning for a nutritionist. Too completely omit carbs is unnecessary for most of us but in the case of your health it's…

Because your calories are so low, maybe you are tiny? I don't know. But did your doctor refer you to a see a nutritionist as well seeing as he suggested you modify your diet?
-
Looking at your food diary, maybe you should have a nutritionist menu plan for you.

I too injured my knee last week so no running for me, I am hating it! Have been finding it very easy to find all sorts of excuses to NOT do other exercises so tomorrow will do upper body strength training and core training, might even try an easy cycle. Doing something, anything, has to be better than giving up and…

Bought the kids some chocolate and that's it. I don't eat chocolate so Easter isn't an issue for me, thankfully..... it's Christmas with all that plum pudding!

I read somewhere that a healthy and realistic way of losing weight is after every 12 weeks of eating at a deficit we eat for 1 week at maintenance. I have always failed at diets at 3-4 months because I have craved things I have denied myself and then just binged, if I do it this way I know that I have another 3 weeks left…

For me it wasn't comments made, it was reaction. I was ignored when I was overweight, then when I lost it to about a size 6 I was suddenly 'noticed'. Through stress I eventually have put it all back on, and am now invisible again. Not taking it to heart this time, my self-esteem is better than it used to be.

If there is pain after the workout then something is wrong. Huge difference between delayed on-set muscle soreness and pain. After a workout when you have cooled down you should feel pretty good, maybe you need to be icing something?

I have one knee that I have to watch. My podiatrist recommended 2 pairs of shoes best for my feet so I wear those. I run on a treadmill now as I found uneven ground played havoc with my legs, I have a slight incline. I am constantly taking note of my form, I know when I am slipping as my knee pings, it took me a while to…

As soon as I finish C23K I am definately getting this! Hope my Ipod touch is compatible.

It really sounds like you're doing great. It seems you are pushing yourself but not to exertion, as we get fitter and as the weight is dropping off the heart rates will reflect it.
-
I know exactly what you mean. I just recently started seeing a trainer now and then, and the programming he put together for me was so radically different than everything I had read before; especially on weightlifting forums. I've stuck with it for 5 weeks now, and I'm starting to see the strength gains I want now. I'd say…

My heart rate gets up really quickly, maximum for me is supposed to be 178 which I can get to when I'm running quite easily and I'm not overly puffing. I did get to 194 one day but I was plain exhausted and my breathing was pretty ordinary there was no way I could sustain it so I made the decision that is my maximum heart…

Thankyou, and the whole bone health was the original reason for starting resistance. Sometimes bar weight drops more than I'd like, but it picks up pretty quickly I guess, I'm not after powerlifting I'm after controlled difficult. I am happy with my exercises, which will be changing this week, but you get on the net and…

That's a little hard remembering a whole routine lol but I will give it a go Single leg squats 3 set of 15 shoulder press 3 set of 15 Lateral raise, front raise & another raise in the middle of the others 3 set of 7, 7 & 7 Leg extensions 3 set of 15 Cable squat and shoulder press 3 set of 15 Can't remember if there was…

The current one is: Bench press Leg Press Lat pull down Combined standing dumbell bicep curl, shoulder press and tricep extension Standing leg curl Dumbell front and side raise My logic is I am doing cardio for weight loss, resistance for strength. No specific training as such, I have started the c25k 3 times a week and a…

My son is 6'1 and weighs around 120lbs. He is very healthy as our diets are full and nutritious, he is eating constantly, he just seems to burn it all off easily. He looks very skinny which was horrible for him growing up as he was teased about it, had him checked by paediatricians who gave him a clean bill of health. My…

Agree with this, I get shin splints if I don't have an incline.

I use the main gym as that's where the majority of free weights are, never been intimidated but then again I have never cared what people think. I have come across a couple of guys that weren't happy with me interrupting their circuit but I just switch them all out and do what I gotta do.

I generally can't do anything with a full blown migraine attack but if I were to pick one I imagine cycling would be the most bearable with a pair of very dark glasses. Thankfully we have found medication that works for me so mine are reasonably controlled. I have learnt the foods that trigger it which has taken years of…
