Raspberries, pears, blueberries, grapefruit and cooked plums are all relatively high in fibre and delicious added to cereal/porridge or as a fruit salad.

Put it in the past and look forward. I lost two pounds last week and 'gained' it all again on Monday WTF? Make a graph with weight up the Y axis and weeks across the x access. What's your average loss per week? Work out from start to where you will finish if you maintain that loss and draw straight line. Then log each week…

Brussel sprouts are cheap and plentiful in the UK but they tend to be a 'love or hate' veg. I'm not keen, neither is daughter #2 but daughter #1 and husband love them. They are a traditional veg for Xmas day. I would serve 4-5 sprouts per person, and no they don't shrink. The traditional way of cooking them is by peeling…

I have told myself that I can have a glass of wine if I still want one at 8.30pm. By the time I get there, it's only half an hour to bedtime (I get up at stupid o'clock, 4.45am) and it hardly seems worth it, so I don't bother.Even though, this week, I've had a bottle of my favourite wine in the fridge!. At the weekends,…

@MyWhole30Journey thank you for your kind words! Back on the wagon it is for me. You are right regarding logic flying out of the window when there is alcohol in the system, the decision to drink more and more being my downfall!
-
Spectacularly fell off the wagon yesterday. I don't appear to be able to do moderation, ESPECIALLY if hubby suggests I might like to drink tonic water now. I have to stop belligerence getting the better of me.

i have lost 4lb and counting in the 11 days of not drinking. Ok, so it's early days in the diet and some of it is water weight etc., but never have achieved this in the past when I tried to include alcohol calories in the diet. The only way I could manage that was to do massive amounts of exercise so I could 'drink them…

If I had got some ice-cream in the freezer I would have done but I had already hoovered that up at the weekend lol!

Today is feeling really hard. I'm grumpy and tired and would normally have a large gin and tonic or glass of wine to cheer myself up. However, I've lost 3lb, 2.5 since giving up alcohol for September so that has to be my motivation for today. I still have 300 calories left so might go on the hunt for something else…

6 guests for the start of Strictly Come Dancing ( UK Original of Dancing with the Stars) and managed to drink fizzy water all night, guests assuming I was on g and t. Invited to neighbours on Sunday (good weather in England? Wow! ) so took a bottle of Rose with a glass taken out of it and carried a glass of water with food…

A good non-alcoholic drink which tastes grown-up is soda water or slimline tonic with a dash of lime cordial and a few drops, to taste, of angostura bitters. A few calories in the lime cordial but minimal compared to alcohol! For those in UK, Tescos do flavoured sparkling and still waters. The lemon and lime one is great.…

Anyone in UK remember Amazin' Raisin bars? Milk and dark chocolate with nougat and duh, raisins. They were advertised with a highwayman stopping a coach. Can't remember the rest of the back story of the advert but I loved those bars.

I have lost the same two pounds over the last three weeks - a bit depressing - BUT I have lost inches and I measured 10 days ago. Plan to measure again in ten days time and ignore the scale as much as possible!
-
When mine were little they would do 10 minutes of 'off road whingeing' and then just get into it. They would run ahead, come back, run ahead again and end up doin twice as much as we did! We still walk together occasionally but without the whingeing and the running to and fro

Not films but Modern Family and Big Bang Theory - hilarious

Your OP and subsequent replies made me very sad. Listen to all the good advice you are being given - there ARE good therapists and it is possible that medication might help. When I was depressed it took a long time for me to recognise it. Eventually I went to my GP and he gave me some anti-depressants. After three weeks or…

In fairness to the programme I think the point of fasting was to see improvements in his blood cholesterol and the growth hormone (can't remember what it's called) It just wasn't for me - but I didn't give much of a go!
-
My husband and I started after the programme but I have abandoned it - I can go without food all day but as soon as I do eat it triggers MASSIVE cravings and I am obsessing. Much easier for me to stick to 1200 a day plus eating exercise calories back. OH seems to be managing it better - he has a lot more to lose than me -…

Don't do it Not sustainable and most of weight loss will be water. Read this http://www.everydiet.org/diet/sacred-heart-diet

Can anyone convert the US cup measures for UK ones? Either oz or grammes. They look absolutely delicious and I am going to try them anyway and do a bit of guessing - trial and error. I am not sure we can get panko breadcrumbs easily here but will use dried breadcrumbs instead.

Either Resist the temptation to weigh every day and just weigh in on the same day each week, first thing in the morning. Or Weigh every day and log it on a graph so that you can see the degree of fluctuation daily but it will be on a downward path and you 'count' the weekly or bi-weekly total. Or Take measurements once a…

Log it before you eat it - see how much it will 'cost' you. That might be enough to put you off, or only eat half. If you still want it - do as the other posters have said and enjoy. Sit down, savour it and make the experience a real treat. You are not denying yourself and you have included it on your log so still staying…

This comes from the time when pots (saucepans, stewpots) and kettles were both put over an open fire or on a range so they would both be blackened by smoke

No tattoos for me - I love the artwork but don't want permanant, irremovable damage on my body! I also think it is partly a genearational thing - I'm in my mid fifities and when I was growing up tattoos were not mainstream and were associated with old men who had military (or even prison) experience. Nowadays the artwork…
