  • Have you looked into the "Treadclimber"? It's a machine that is a combination of the elleptical and a treadmill. I bought mine on Craig's List and I love it.... easy on the knees and the back. I just had back surgery last month and I'm already back on the Treadclimber....
  • After a lonnnnnnnnnnng day with the grand kids, you made me smile! It reminded me of the sign I saw last week at the doctor's office: Please refrain from perfumes -- as some of us are allergic to smells! LOL
  • yep. your metabolism slows down. Try this for 1 week to jump start your metabolism............. a high protein/low carb diet. worked for me when i quit!
  • My favorite is "Pizza Burgers"........... Make your hamburger like sloppy joes, then add tomato sauce (pizza sauce). Pile on top of a split english muffin. Top with low-fat cheese.... The kids love these!
  • Do you have cable tv? If so, they have some workout programs on their exercise channel..... it will give you a variety and let you know which one you prefer...
  • Thanks, Jeanie.... Just had dinner. Grilled chicken tenders over grilled zuchini slices -- topped with shredded cheese. For dessert, I had fresh pineapple slices. I'm already thinking about tomorrow's menu... Good luck with yours!
  • I bought a Bowflex "TreadClimber" from Craigslist. I love it! It's like having a treadmill and an elliptical all-in-one.... I also have the Bowflex regular machine that I use for strength training. Plus my dvd's. If you have cable tv, look on "On-demand" for free workout sessions. They have some great programs all the time.
  • Just in time! I just got back from the store & bought tons of frest fruit & veggies. What I DIDN"T buy though, was potatoe chips, cookies, sweets, etc....... Exercise alone is not working ---- it's got to be my diet............ I'm with you ; let's increase our fresh fruit & veggies DAILY and see what a difference it will…
  • Hello from Estero Fl! We are close neighbors.......... Good luck on your journey; this sight is great.
  • Do a "seach" here for hrm and you will get some great ideas........ Best to get one with a chest strap..... you'll be glad you did it!
  • Try to get one with the "strap". They are more accurate. Plus, you don't have to keep pushing buttons to see where you are. I have a Polar -- seems to be very popular. They are very motivating -- I keep trying to add to the previous day calorie loss! They run around $100 but it's worth every dollar.....

  • Welcome aboard! I'm from the Naples area. I, too, have problems keeping consistant. The older I get -- the harder it is... I keep gaining! I'll add you as "a friend" --- maybe we can keep each other motivated. What are you doing for your exercise routines? I'm using a treadclimber and adding resistance training. Good luck…
  • thank you, sunnyskys.........
  • Not sure about mosquitoes - but, I live in florida and I haven't been bothered yet by them. Of course, they are worse at dusk and dawn....
  • If you have cable TV, go to "On Demand" and then go to Exercise. You can use several exercise video's for free. This is an excellent way to try them before you buy them.......... to find out if you like the trainer or the program! Good luck!
  • If you have access to a fax machine, I can fax you some routines. I have incorporated the TreadClimber "speed" to match the workout routine. It keeps your mind off of being bored because you have to watch the clock timer and your speed to do the HIIT programs. PM me if you want -- with your fax number.
  • I have a TreadClimber. My literature says a "better" workout burning "more" calories in the same amount of time. I didn't know it was twice as many? I believe the TreadClimber does more for your glutes and thighs than a tread mill. Yes, you are moving up and down like a stair climber and forward movements like the tread…
  • This is why we need to be careful what we read! and believe!
  • Great! I'll try the dish soap tomorrow morning! Thanks!!
  • Great results! Fantastic picture! Care to share your success plan? What kind of exercises did you do and how often? How many calories did you eat daily (average)? I, too am barely 5 foot tall. When I gain 5 pounds, it's like 10 pounds to a taller person. So, I know what you mean..... Good luck & stay on track! That extra…

  • Do you have Comcast OnDemand Cable? Or something similiar to it? If so, check out the free Exercise Video's they have. There's an exercise spot online too, I think it's www.exercisetv.com you might check out. It allows you to try them out before you buy them. You get to preview several to see which ones you like.
  • I started it on June 1st. I'm with ShutterBug - it's not long enough. I too have been doing the 30 day shred along with Boost Metabolism and No More Trouble Zones. By doing 2 routines a day, I burn 400 to 500 calories per day. Am beginning to see a "slight" tone in abs and legs. No weight lost though. It's super hard for…
  • I tried it along with the 30 day shred. It really gets you pumping! Major cardio workout. Today I did the No More Trouble Zones. It was not as intense, but burned more "fat" percentage even though it was less calorie burn. Both are good programs. Still doing the 30 day shred with each of these. It takes about 1 1/2 hour to…
  • I've used a site at www. itrain.com for my ipod. They are not very expensive and there are several to choose from. Easy to download too. You might check out the site first. They have a demo you can see.
  • Thanks all! Yep - tried the No More Touble Zone today. It is intense, but not as hard as the Boost Metabloism routine. Didn't burn as many total calories, but, burned more fat calories. Totally awesome workout. I'll have to try to other ones, too..... Just curious, when it say's I've burned 45% fat on my calorie count,…
  • Have you ever watched any of the Nanny 911 shows? They have some great helpful solutions there, but, if you don't follow thru then nothing will work........ My nephew was having trouble getting his 2 kids to stay in bed and go to sleep by themselves. He watched Nanny 911 and started a new routine. It took 2 weeks, but now…
  • I love Pizza Burgers..... haven't calculated the calories, but, easy to make and it serves as many as you want to make! Gound Beef Whole Wheat Muffins Tomato Sauce Slice of low fat cheese Ground beef. Drain, add tomato sauce and just simmer slightly. Slice muffin in two pieces. Add ground beef to top of muffin. Top with a…
  • Assign a name for it for you. Also, log into Cardio instead of Resistance training so you can log in your calories burned. It won't hurt anything and you can keep track of your calories there. If you use a HR monitor, you will see how many calories you burn while doing these exercises..... Hope this helps.
  • Hey - don't sweat the small stuff! I've gained back every pound - But - I'm back on track again. Starting over. After 2 years. Get back out there. Exercise and log your food.............. Most of us do it from time to time...........
  • First - DON'T give up. Second - record every bite you put in your mouth. Third - record exercises daily. Fourth - log on here every day for a pep talk! Fifth - DON'T GIVE UP........
