I'm in!

I loved this post. I am fairly recently a "pescatarian/lacto/ovo" vegetarian. I incorporate a lot of vegan meals, though (maybe 60%), and have severely cut down on dairy. I never ate a lot of eggs anyway, unless they were in something else. Fish is a rarity. I want to make the switch to fully vegan but haven't had the guts…

Done! :)

Also, cheap homemade "pizzas" - I use tortillas as the crust, throw a couple tablespoons of pasta sauce or pesto on top and then load it up with veggies and a little cheese - pop it in the oven for 10 minutes. Quick and tasty, plus you can get multiple meals out of one pack of tortillas.

Beans keep for a while, and are dirt cheap if you buy the dry variety. They take a little more prep time, but they're worth it. If you have a crockpot, these - http://allrecipes.com/recipe/refried-beans-without-the-refry/detail.aspx - are amazing and make a ton. They freeze really well, so portion them out and pop them in…

I haven't started yet (planning on starting next week) but started reading through it last night and the recommendation is 3 workouts per week. :) My understanding is that you can feel free to work in other activities on your off days, just no additional lifting. Good luck! I am excited to get started, too.

Done! 100 with 5 pound weights.
-
I've missed the last week and a half of challenges, but I am back! Doing these with 5 pound weights because that's all I have here at home.
-
GO YOU! I can see a big difference. You should be very proud of yourself. Keep it up! :)

Ooh, this sounds amazing. Will be trying this soon!

If it really is, step away from the scale! During your TOM, your weight can jump up several pounds. Wait until it's over and then weigh in or you will drive yourself crazy.

I took it years ago for a few weeks combined with good diet and exercise. I didn't have any of the scary side effects other people have mentioned, but I also don't think it really helped at all. I don't think it gave me any extra edge or amped up my results. For me, it wasn't worth the money.

Like peachy said, you might be getting an inaccurate calorie burn from the machines - your best bet really would be a HRM as that's the most accurate estimation of how many calories you've burned. The machines at the gym tend to be a little high and the calorie estimates on MFP are usually extremely overinflated. Just…

I'm going to throw my vote behind NOT doing this because it's insulting, but I also see nothing wrong with fessing up about trying to lose weight and trying to keep your portions smaller - it may even inspire her to mix in some healthier options. And offering to bring a side to help out is a good suggestion - that way you…

If you have a way to keep things cold, make a batch of pasta salad or a cold quinoa dish. Last time we went camping I made an orzo pasta salad chock full of veggies (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/mexican-orzo-salad/detail.aspx - it makes a TON) and that was a great thing to have on hand.

Forgot to post yesterday when I finished, but I did it! :)

whoa ... definitely going to try these

Sadly I don't have any recipes to share, but these look delicious. Thanks for posting!

bump - thanks for sharing!

Forgot to say I was in, but ... done! 150 done with a 5 pound weight (30 more than last week).
-
I bought a Polar FT4 several weeks ago and it's the best fitness-related decision I've made. Now I actually know how much I'm burning in my workouts, as the calorie burns estimated by MFP are usually significantly overestimated. I lucked out and found one for $50 on eBay.

You're doing GREAT! What a transformation in such a short time. Nice work!
-
Yep, it will - you just have to set it up that way. Go to "Settings" near the top right of your screen. Select "Diary Settings" and then add it to one of the empty bars in the "Nutrients Tracked" section.

I get downright ravenous ... I just try to make sure my snacks are on the healthier side and don't stress too much about it. Better for everyone around if I'm not upping my level of *****y by adding hunger to it, too.

Cardio at the gym (treadmill, elliptical) bores me to tears. I have fallen in love with cardio kickboxing, though (in a class setting), and I also LOVE walking and hiking outside. Fresh air, change of scenery, I'm not sure what it is, but something about being outside, with or without my iPod, keeps me much happier than…

160 done! Body weight only.

bump - LOVE quinoa, could always use more recipes. I will come back when I'm not working and post some of my favorites.

bump - good ideas here.
