Do you suffer from food allergies? Bloating/puffiness can be a symptom. Although I guess the most likely explanation is water retention as others have already said.

Weekends are always a struggle for me - I go over and then have all week to "make it up", which is why I WI on Fridays. Depends on what you get up to over the weekends I suppose? Monday mornings are depressing enough without a high WI.

 You did ask!

I've heard of people taking it in tablet form, along with other things like green tea, dandelion, acai berry etc etc. I'm not sure how many of these things actually work. I guess if they did we'd all be using them?!

The cals Wii Fit tells me I've burned don't vary no matter what speed I'm going at. As my speed has improved, it just gives me the same number of cals. :ohwell: The "Jog in Place" option is slightly more than Wii Fit but still doesn't seem like enough, or perhaps it's just wishful thinking on my part?

Sometimes it's hard to set a goal if you've never seen yourself at an 'ideal' weight. Even if you're within the normal weight range, the range is pretty big isn't it? And if you've never been lower, then who knows how much further they can go until their body says enough is enough, or when people start to comment that you…

I usually find that at least half of the weight you seem to have gained after a holiday is not genuine weight gain as it drops off within a few days of getting back to normal. So perhaps if you braved the scales they wouldn't be as bad as you thought! Best thing to do is get back to your usual routine ASAP and if you've…

Hi, All I can really suggest is that you stick with it. There are weeks I lose a decent amount then others where I gain or stay the same, but over the space of say a month it pretty much evens out and is around the loss I'm aiming for, providing I am honest with myself about the cals I am eating. Some WI's can be…

First thing, don't give yourself a hard time as you lost 40lbs so that's great! You've put a few back on while being ill, but you've stopped it before it's got out of hand and gone too far off the rails. I would suggest planning the week ahead - decide in advance what you're going to eat and that will make it easier to…

I'm guessing that some people are referring to UK sizes and some to US sizes as well (I think a UK 12 = a US 8?) so this could be part of the difference in comparisons. Plus I agree with the body fat % contributing as a lower BF% in 2 people of the same weight would probably mean a smaller size. Shops don't help either…

What a big achievement, you must be so proud of yourself. Congrats!

I have Tanita Body Fat monitor scales and have always found them very accurate, however they can be quite expensive. The readings match up with my Wii Fit board as well, although I use the WF board on a flat, uncarpeted floor which I think makes all the difference, as carpet can throw the readings way out. I bought WW…

Definitely eat your exercise cals if you're earning a lot especially as this can make a big difference. It is scary, as you automatically think eating less means losing more weight and it's very hard to get past that frame of mind, but once you've tried it and seen it works then that will be the proof you need and you will…

Rethink your reasons for doing it, go over them in your head. Remember how good it felt when you got into a routine at the gym - even if you had to drag yourself there, I bet you felt really positive afterwards? You can still go to the BBQs etc but be honest about it - log it all and then at least you know what you're…

I understand what you mean as I have to really mentally "force" myself to exercise as well. For me, if I don't do it straight away when I get in from work then the chances are it won't get done as the longer I let myself relax for I talk myself out of it. It's different for you though , as you're fitting the exercise in…

thanks for the replies. The 45 mins is probably half an hour of high impact aerobics (eg. jumping jacks etc) with the final 15 mins of lower impact/weight repetitions etc. It just seemed too good to be true, even though the high impact stuff has me out of breath and I struggle to do it all...
