  • Well done, this is fab! For those of us who don't always enjoy exercise (or ever in my case), this is some achievement to commit to something for a month or so and see it through to the end. I hope you have seen the great results you deserve!
  • Well done everyone! I worry if I take days off that I'll never get back to it as I struggle to commit to exercise, so I've been trying to take as few rest days as possible. Once I'm back in a proper routine and trust myself a bit more I will hopefully be able to take planned rest days.
  • Patti - thanks so much for answering, that's very inspirational. If you are doing a 15k you must be super fit! I think I'm just going to do a Jillian mash-up and do different workouts each day as I struggle with boredom. I've found a couple of groups that are doing the same so I've climbed on board! I'm going to remain…
  • I do understand, after about 4 days doing the same level I find it mind numbing, and also I know the script by then and find myself saying all of Jillian's phrases before she does! If it weren't for the group participation I think I'd have struggled to stick with it.
  • Jillian Michaels DVDs (lots of support groups on here if you search, which makes the experience a bit more bearable!) or c25k app are a couple of suggestions. There are some good workouts you can get free on YouTube as well. Plus if you've got some basics at home like weights or a gym ball. You'll be fine without the gym.…
  • Congratulations, how did you find it? Any weight loss or change in inches? And what will you be doing for exercise next? So many questions... call it your post shred interview. I'm also interested cos I'm still pondering over my next challenge. I have 5 days left.
  • You're doing well to do those, I'm still modifying! And I hate the squat jumps/rock stars too. I just jump as high as I can without ending up in a heap on the floor.
  • Haha.. I think that's her permanent expression - evil woman!! Sounds like you're doing well. Just do what you can in terms of sit ups, you may find you can manage a couple tomorrow, three the next day etc.
  • I have a Tanita body fat scale. I find it very accurate with weight, but I'm really not sure that a BF% scale is worth paying extra for, as I've read that it's not accurate for reading your BF% as it varies massively depending on the amount of water in your body when you weigh. The only thing you can see, is if there is a…
  • I'm still here! I did L3 D3 today so that's 23 days and I've only had 1 day off up to now. I will be away on Sunday next weekend so I will need to take that day off and then complete on Monday 1st April, but I'm determined to get this done now, I've started so I'll finish! You've done a great job and the end is really…
  • Same here! I've been doing 30 Day Shred and have noticed inch loss although it's slower to come off my hips than it is from other areas. Still, I'm just happy to see it coming off.
  • Hi there, I can understand your frustration as my scales have not moved for over 3 weeks since starting a new exercise routine (I've heard this is normal and will settle down). Sounds obvious, but are you weighing and measuring everything? Are you being totally strict, logging every mouthful of food? Also with your…
  • Good to know there are so many other early shredders!
  • I'm so glad it helped, I've been passing it on to many people since I found it as there seems to be a few of us in the same boat!
  • It's great that you're noticing yourself getting fitter. It's only been 3 weeks and so that's an achievement in itself. Thanks to you too, and to everyone else in this group. I've tried and failed to to the shred a few times, giving up after a few days, but everyone here has really helped me to stick with it and posting…
  • He has a way with words! ???? But still it's a compliment and shows you're getting results. Well done!
  • Haha I like this idea. Dear Jillian, sorry I swear at you and call you names. I'd like to say I don't mean it but sadly I do. I hate planks and I hate cardio but I guess you'll tell me it does me good, right? If you could find it in your heart to ditch the pendulum lunges it would be much appreciated. Thanks!!
  • This is great, you will find you notice small improvements to your fitness each day, and will gradually be able to do the exercises more easily. I'm just starting level 3 tomorrow and after that I plan to do a mixture of Jillian's other DVDs. Good luck with it, I'm sure you'll get great results.
  • My alarm goes off at 5:15am and I'm usually shredding by 5:30am and it's all done before I go to work. That way I don't have all day at work to talk myself out of it. At weekends I do it a little later but still in the morning before breakfast. I'm mad, I know, but it's working for me and helping me to stick to a routine.…
  • Okay, so you had a bad day yesterday - that was yesterday! Today is a whole new day and you can put that all behind you and start afresh, and definitely get back to Jillian else I guarantee she will be banging your door down and wanting answers as to why you are "phoning it in"!!! You've done such a great job so…
  • I did the shred last year and noticed loads of inch loss (but no weight). This year I've again had no weight loss (slight gain even) and have lost a little bit in inches but nowhere near what I lost the first time round. If we keep pushing to the end we may then see a difference? Lets hope so.
  • I think we are opposites - I find the ab work easy, am okay generally with strength, but the cardio kills me. Tell you what, you do my cardio and I'll do your strength and abs. Do you think that will work?
  • Sounds lovely, any idea on calories?
  • I really admire those of you doing other exercise as well as the Shred - I'm pretty much starting from zero exercise so I'm just doing the Shred, but hopefully it's something I can build up to.
  • Well done on your progress so far. I find some days I just seem to have more energy than others with no apparent reason for it. But I just try to push through and do as much as I can each day. I did have a bit of an issue with my knee in L1 with all the jumping but it seems okay now. Someone suggested I get a knee support…
  • That's awful, I hope you are feeling better soon. Just remember, Jillian isn't going anywhere (worst luck ;o)), she will always be there to get back to when you're ready.
  • I did D8 of L2 today and it's only the past couple of days I felt any improvement - it's a toughy but it will happen I promise! I do think it gets boring doing 10 days of the same thing but keep on thinking to yourself it's only 25 mins. You're doing great to keep on with it. Some days you're naturally more tired than…
  • Today I'm 18 days into the Shred and my weight is 3lbs UP from when I started which is pretty naff. Despite eating at a level to create a 0.5-1lb loss per week. It's not going to make me give up on the Shred but it is disheartening all the same.
  • I just checked and there's already a group called "The Ultimate Jillian Michaels Challenge" which is for people doing any or a combination of her videos and the timescale appears to be open ended. I have just joined up, would be great if others joined too!
  • Well done for beating level 2!! I am jealous cos I still have another 3 days before I can move on. I don't remember all of L3 from last time but I remember preferring it to L2 so I can't wait!
