  • Good luck, you can do this! Add me if you like, seems we have a similar attitude to exercise! 
  • Hi there, I do understand your frustration! Have you looked at what you're eating and not just the number of cals? I notice your diary is closed so I can't offer any suggestions but I plateaued for months while sticking to cals and only started moving again through making healthier choices. Good luck and I hope you find…
  • Totally agree with the 'free' fruit and veg encouraging better choices. I was eating crisps or chocolate as snacks on MFP cos my calories allowed. On WW I guess it's woken me up to what I already knew, that these are not healthy on a daily basis and instead I am snacking on fruit. On WW a chocolate bar is a far larger…
  • This is only my second week but I found myself eating the weekly points but around half of the activity points. I thought it best not to eat all my AP so I have a margin for error in case I'm choosing the wrong way of logging them.
  • Jillian has a DVD called Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism which is a lot more cardio than the Shred and is a longer workout at around 45-50 mins. It's tough but may be what you're after!
  • I don't find either of the guys in the OP unattractive although I guess they wouldn't turn my head either. Saying that SBC is funny and that counts for a lot!
  • Try maintenance for a short time, give things a kick and then slowly reduce your cals again. I've seen plenty of people on here say they've done that after a plateau and it's started off their loss again. Good luck, I know how frustrating it is!
  • Banish fat is tough! I did the whole lot on Sunday but only managed five circuits today! I'm mixing it up with No more trouble zones, killer buns & thighs and 6 week 6 pack. Good luck everyone!
  • I'm in! I'll be doing a mixture of 4 of jillian's DVDs. Good luck all!
  • How about at the beginning of the week you commit yourself to exercising on set days? That way, if someone asks you to do something else on a day you planned to exercise, you say no, but that you're free on X day when you had planned a day off the exercise? That way you stick with the exercise but also have some free time…
  • I feel the same frustration after being stuck at the same weight for 3 1/2 months! In January I started exercising 5-6 times per week, mainly Jillian Michaels DVDs, 30 day shred/Ripped in 30 etc and although I continue to lose inches my weight has not budged and this corresponds with me starting the regular exercise. As…
  • I also did the 30DS and found I felt like I was progressing each day but every so often I would have a day of feeling totally lethargic and not being able to do nearly as much as the previous days. But then the following day I would be okay again! I guess that's your body saying you need a rest but I tried to do the 30DS…
  • Definitely take measurements and even photos for comparison purposes in a few weeks' time. I did Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred and lost no weight but several inches from various places so knowing that gave me the encouragement to keep up with the exercise. Had I not seen the inch loss, the evil scales might have made me…
  • Have you tried the Jillian Michaels stuff - 30 day Shred etc? If you search the forum for 30DS results you will see big inch losses in a short amount of time and the workout is only 20 mins or so per day.
  • I've been doing it 5-6 days a week. JM recommends at least one rest day per week which is good cos I then don't feel guilty if I can't fit it in one day a week.
  • How much do you want to lose? How many cals are you eating? If you work out, do you eat back the cals you uses during exercise? My weight loss has totally stalled the past three months since starting to work out 5-6 days a week. I have lost several inches though so maybe you should check measurement as well as weight?
  • Absolutely loved Labyrinth, it was my favourite! Also liked Neverending Story, E.T, Batteries not Included, Short Circuit, Inner Space, Darryl, Top Gun, Gremlins, Goonies and I'm sure there are loads I've missed!
  • What I found is that many of the people who were slim and attractive (and laughed at those who weren't) at school, fast forward 15 years and they have gained a lot of weight. I guess they have found that as they got older it's no longer possible to eat everything in sight and remain slim. On the flip side, people who…
  • Take your measurements in lots of areas. I have been stuck at the same weight for 3 months since starting to work out 5-6 days per week. Very frustrating but I have dropped several inches and can notice small changes when I look in the mirror. At least the measuring tape will give you encouragement when the scales won't.…
  • It's not cheating but think of it this way - if sometime in the future you reached a plateau and wanted to look back at your history to figure out what to do next, you'd really want the history to be as accurate as possible otherwise it isn't a useful tool if you didn't put the exact numbers in at the time, if you see what…
  • What calories are you on? Just wondering if you're feeling deprived which may then lead to the binge day? Or is the binge day when you have night out or something like that? If so, I can sympathise! That happens to me too and I try to take the approach that if I'm on track 95% of the time then I should still be getting…
  • I'm in the UK too.
  • I would answer the little voice saying "why bother"... with the reasons why you're bothering. Go through them again in your mind, think about what you want from this and if you don't bother, at some point you'll end up trying again cos that's what we all do if we're not happy with ourselves as we are I guess? It's tough,…
  • I did it and only missed a couple of days out of the 30. I lost no weight (this seems to be a common thing with 30DS) but around 14 inches from various places. It was a couple of inches here, couple there, 1.5 there etc but when I looked in the mirror I couldn't *see* it as such so definitely measure before and after as…
  • Agreed! Weigh yourself at the same time of day under the same conditions so you're comparing like with like. :o)
  • I lost inches and felt stronger but lost no weight whatsoever. I notice a similar thing happens to others too so do take measurements and try not to stress about numbers on the scales. It's manageable for beginners as you can modify some of the exercises until you improve. Search for 30ds success pics and you'll get some…
  • I have a similar amount to lose and during the 30ds I lost no weight at all BUT over 12 inches from various places and I did feel stronger. I've been doing various Jillian DVDs since and still no loss on the scales but I can see it starting to make a difference. Definitely take all your measurements and keep checking them…
  • Same here! Started with 30 Ds then moved onto ripped in 30 and been doing various other Jillian DVDs for around 8 weeks averaging 6 times a week and my weight is not budging! I'm losing inches here and there and feel stronger but I still feel frustrated by it! I know it's having positive effects so am going to keep it up…
  • Hi there, I'm doing RI30 now also. Up to now I'm not finding it as hard as 30ds but I think that's because when I did that I was starting from scratch from doing no exercise and now I'm a little more used to it. Only tried L1 up to now though so don't know what's in store! Banish Fat Boost Metabolism I find is the most…
  • I started RI30 today with my sister. Happy to share the pain!
