So you are saying that if I made bad choices on things completely in my control, I deserve to be bailed out by people who didn't? Are you willing to pay for my food and healthcare and utilities if I trade my $160,000 house and 2 paid off 10-year old cars for a $500,000 house and 2 new luxury SUVs? Because I guarantee I…

Why limit immigration? We just need to add a couple of additional requirements, like many other countries have. - To immigrate, you have to be able to show that you can support yourself, or have someone that is willing to commit to supporting you. - To stay after a certain point, you have to be able to show that you are a…

That's kind of where the question comes from: how do you define "NEEDING" it? Do I need it if I overbought a $600,000 house, so now I don't have enough cash from my job to buy food too? Do I need it if I choose to spend my food money on drugs or alcohol (or tobacco, or gambling, etc.)? Do I need it if I chose to have 10…

I'm really mixed about this. Blizzard has been great about keeping humor in WoW, and bringing in all sorts of references, which I enjoy. On the other hand, it's really hard to go from saving the world from the creators of the Titans, the Scourge, and now Deathwing, to an expansion that is focusing on a race that has been…

I never got time last night to get on to post this, so here is a shortened form of what I was going to say regarding God not needing a higher creator, ad nauseum. 1. Time is a dimension of the universe 2. Since God created the universe, he is outside and separate from the universe (he can also come inside the universe,…

Did not have the option to get the shot when I was a kid, so I got the chicken pox. It was awful. That said, my son will definitely get it. It was bad enough when I was in 5th grade, and I've known a couple people who got it as adults, and they definitely had it much worse. If you can get vaccinated against it, go for it,…

I think it depends on the crowd you are with, and the game you play. For example (tooting my horn for a little here), my guild in World of Warcraft is very family oriented. We've had boss fights where the Main Tank or Main Healer will just go AFK partway into the fight because a kid needed attention, for whatever reason.…

I might have to look you up, Stariera, since we are both Horde-side GMs on Quel'dorei :flowerforyou: I also had my MMORPG start in EQ (loved my bard), and stayed with it from release until WoW launched.

Short term, you really don't have to worry about starvation mode. It varies by person, from what I can tell, but anything up to a couple weeks I doubt will have any real lasting effect.

I think we can definitely keep this from getting ugly. I think I am open minded enough to keep my arguments from degenerating to that point  . However, I do enjoy the debate. The argument for a creator existing before the universe, and not needing a higher level creator, ad nauseum, requires a couple of steps to…

There may be a limit - but it is going to depend greatly on the circumstances. With no social network and no support, the limit might be 2 kids for one couple. Or even no kids for a single mother, even if she can afford it, due to other factors. On the other hand, between friends and family, another couple may be able to…

I agree - the only evidence I can provide is evidence from my perspective - the universe and all things contained in it. However, if you reject the idea that someone or something had to create the universe in the first place - to start the Big Bang, if you will, then there is no evidence I will be able to produce that you…

Absolutely - I will agree with you. There are definitely mothers that do not love their children - but all I need for my argument is one mother that does, and shows it through her actions to prove my point. We still can't measure her love (what units would we use? ). I forgot some of the basics of debating, so you…

I agree - the death penalty should not be abolished. However, it should not be looked at as a deterrent - it should only be a solution for someone who cannot be redeemed. Much like wild animals, if they become too dependent on humans and become an active threat, the best thing to do is to relocate them to an area where the…

I disagree. I do believe the drug testing needs to happen, and it should certainly be a criteria for some types of assistance. However, if a person needs welfare because of drug abuse - let's test them, find them, and get them into the help they need. If they are not willing to take the help, then I would be fine with not…

I would prefer to say that it is a personal decision, and should just be up to the parents. However, in an entitlement society like we have (or are going to) in the US, it becomes a Catch-22. You can't really limit the aid if the parents can't afford their kids, because the ones who end up suffering are normally not the…

I believe yes, but how can you prove it to other people? It is like trying to prove a mother's love for her kids. Nobody can deny it, but there is no way to measure it, and you can only indirectly see it through her actions.

Salary caps don't work. Look at all the businesses that have tried salary/compensation caps. The cash might be limited, but the other perks just kept growing. Debate.

I have major depression. My wife also has major depression/borderline personality disorder and ADD. We both have parents that have at least gone through depressive phases, and her dad currently has Alzheimer's. Various other health issues are in our families, so health concerns are always on the radar. I'm doing pretty…

I've been on a few different servers, but now I've consolidated all my active characters to Quel'dorei. I am co-gm for two guilds - one Horde and one Alliance - The Train (H) and Puppy Train (A). The Horde guild is our primary - Puppy Train is more relaxed (fewer members, lower level guild, less play time). Both are…

If you have access to a rowing machine, you can try that - just focus on the arms. If you can avoid putting pressure on the knee, you can even try some bending and sliding with the rowing machine using just one leg. It won't work as well, obviously, as it would without the injury, but it is a way to get at least some…

- Logging it all - Eating lighter before and after, adding an extra workout - Not (completely) pigging out the day of, but definitely having dessert and some of everything. Expecting to be well over on calories, but still at goal for the week.
-
Just staying under your daily calorie goal is a great place to start. Long term, though, I think you'll find it much easier to lose and keep the weight off if you adjust your diet to be more supportive/healthier. Healthier eating tends to be more balanced (i.e. lower calorie and better on both macro-nutrients and…

You can, but it's processed, lost half its strength, and the additives will add 5 pounds a week...you can't find it fresh.

Just tried almond milk (unsweetened, unflavored) for the first time today. I liked the taste while I was drinking it, but the aftertaste was a lot like just eating the almonds themselves - dry and nutty, and made me want to go get something else to drink to wash it down. I'll stick with it for a little while and see if I…

Simple answer: To lose 2 pounds per week, subtract 500 calories from the daily number MFP gives you for losing 1 pound a week. Eat back your exercise calories on the days you work out, and you don't have to adjust anything else.

Greetings from Albuquerque as well...welcome. Feel free to send me a message if you want - I still incorporate NM cuisine in my diet regularly. Remember - green chile by itself does not have much in the way of calories - like most other veggies...so you can always spice up any meal you make

I usually log everything except dinner either the day before, or in the morning. I keep dinner open so I can make adjustments if something comes up during the day - either an unexpected snack because I was unusually hungry, or my workout calories are different than I expected, etc. I usually know what I will have for…

Definitely not slamming you - and if it works for you, keep with it! However, I took some time and did a search over food combining to try to find a scientific basis for it. Maybe my searches were bad, but I couldn't find a single study that substantiated food order as making a difference. That said, I think there is…

As far as I understand, if you aren't putting in any effort, you aren't burning any extra calories. You can definitely lose water weight due to sweating it out, but that is temporary loss - when you rehydrate you'll gain it back.
