  • I've visited 6 different boxes (I know that's not a huge sampling) but I've never seen Advocare there...I most often encounter it at church.
  • It really depends how "heavy" the weight is for you. I'd probably do it 25/15/15/10/5/5 I know that seems like a lot or sets, but the "break" in between is only about 4-5 breaths worth before I try to hit it again. Thrusters are what kick my butt in a hurry...
  • I'm what I refer to as 85% paleo. Lots of veggies and fruits, nuts, seeds, high quality meat. I do eat greek yogurt but limit my milk consumption to about 2 cups/week. I also eat a few whole grains but we're talking like 2-3 servings/week. I of course have better and "worse" days.
  • It's really not as bad as you might think. I'm actually faster if I do WODs like that in sets instead of just try blasting through as many as I can do and then limping home.
  • Thank you for your candor. I have two kids (15 and 9). My wife and I lost two babies (one very late) and it really broke something inside me. I couldn't bear to try again.
  • muscleups and if there are a lot of handstand push ups.
  • That isn't lame at all. There is NO shame in breaks. Just make them quick, a couple breaths. I try to go before I feel "ready" if that makes any sense. I'm trying to build my mental toughness. Pregnant for 4 years in a row means I already know you're mentally strong.
  • There are people in our box that just take to them soooo easily. I wanna kick 'em in the guts  I can do 20 unbroken on a good day...a VERY good day. It's definitely a skill to develop. I've been at this about 9 mos. and I feel like I'm just barely getting the rhythm. They are murder on my shins. I would much rather do…

  • I use the "calisthenics" preset. I have a heart rate monitor but there I'm wearing wrist supports for a lot of the Oly lifts now and it was getting in the way. I try to keep my calories at about the recommended amount BEFORE I work out so I figure it's all to my benefit.
  • That's really solid, nice work. Deadlifts are a hard lift for me, I don't know why. I squat (front and rear) more than I deadlift...just another thing to work on!
  • GREAT Job atynk. When I started crossfit last May I couldn't do ONE pull-up. Then I learned to kip and while I'm not great at it, a lot of repetition and practice with bands and then last week I was able to do 10 in a row unassisted. This is from a guy who supposedly has "bad" rotator cuffs. I haven't been able to throw a…
  • Hey y'all I'm new to the forums. I'm fairly new to crossfit. Last night I PR'd my back squat at 325lbs, was able to do 20 double unders in a row (a miracle for me).
  • It really depends how my body is responding to volume. I'm about a 4x/week person. I'm trying to work more cycling in as well so I can have decent form come Spring.
  • I've been doing crossfit about 9mos (last 6 mos. at Rx). I agree there doesn't seem to be a good way to track it. I use 30-45min of "calisthenics". That seems to be pretty close for me. Marianke...an hour long crossfit workout? That is super long in my experience. Most WODs are in the 7-20min range with hero WODs pushing…
