I was doing bar facing burpees and smacked my forehead on the bar. I then followed that up by tripping on the bar. Catching a medicine ball in the face is no joke. Last time I did that my neck hurt for a week SOT press can be pretty humbling

I agree that your body will let you know. I'll be active unless I get body aches or the sickness has made me exhausted

Crossfit done right = cardio. Add more running to your WOD if you want. Even for long distance efforts you do not need lots of volume. HIIT training is no joke

Flexibility is HUGE. I used to feel it in my lower back. I also broke my upper arm and it healed at an angle so literally if I lay on my back with my arms above my head one arm won't touch the ground. What made a world of difference for me is rotating my knees more outward

I'm 80% paleom100% of the time :-) I love bread. LOVE it. I'm pretty good about it but the difference is I no longer have the "calorie is a calorie" mindset. I'll still eat maybe a serving of breads per day and maybe two or three beers a week

I don't mind people being proud of themselves at all, but it is a bit macabre when people consistently just choose a body part to represent the holistic "them". Again, I'm not trying to judge but it strikes me as MFP being populated by non-cephalized bodies

I get there early to do extra stretching in my shoulders where I'm trying to gain mobility. My box like a lot of others goes like this for each session: Warm up, strength/technique work, WOD, cash out. The cash out is usually something cardio or working on our monthly goals.

I'm not tall...between 5'8" and 5'9 and 219lbs. My max box jump is 38" and anything taller looks kind of intimidating. We've got a couple guys who did 49" this week....not this kid.

I don't have the power lifting background you do and was pretty hamstring weary M was lunges, T back squats, W clean and jerk. Yesterday was run a mile, 2k row, 200 double unders and some other stuff...legs weren't happy campers but my time was pretty competitive for our box

I just started lifting with crossfit. My back squat is 325 but I'm still learning form. Nice job. Burped BLOW. We did a burpee/toes to bar ladder today 21/15/9. I need to get faster....that took me 8 min

What the other people have said is right on. Crossfit boxes are known for their positive supportive people. Every WOD can be adjusted. You'll have the opportunity to bring the same level of effort as the people doing it prescribed. When I started I was 230 and had bad rotator cuffs. I was using a green band. 9 months later…
