20 Rep Max? the back squat is my fave, but sheesh, that's a lot of volume at high weight.

My box represents the surrounding diversity well. There are probably maybe more women than men. A lot of these women are my heroes....tough as coffin nails they are.

The 50 is well worth doing
-
I'm always a little bumped up
-
Definitively say something. Crossfit shouldn't be loaded with alphas per se, but leaders
-
I find that explanation a bit flippant. The benefit of an affiliate of course is knowing that all the trainers have achieved certain standards and of course you're supporting the work crossfit has done to broaden the appeal of this type of fitness regimen. Just my thoughts
-
Circuit training and calisthenics both come up with similar calorie totals
-
We do a WOD called Haboob that is a bunch of running and cleans and get ups with an 80lb bag....it's a good one. When I get 50lbs + I think using a barbell is easier
-
I would LOVE to pay $100/mo.
-
HABOOB. Fran is tough but at least it's short
-
The 50 straight burp eyes is impressive. My form goes all to hell after about 25. I got a new shoulder press 1RM yesterday. I went from 150 ALL the way to 155

Dumb and insensitive. I generally don't like the "clever" t shirts that really aren't very clever and are just cashing in on trends.
-
I like the adjustable Rogue ones. You can really whip them around. Of course they leave a wicked welt
-
Nice work! I have a hard time coming off the wall when I do them. It's something I'll have to make a monthly goal one of these months
-
Well it sounds like you're doing all the right things. What I struggle with is time. I don't give myself enough time to heal. I'm always kind of bumped and banged up from crossfit. Right now I have what feels like a connective tissue pull in my ankle that I think I hurt just pulling off my shoes after a WOD. SOOO…

How close are you to that muscle up? That one is going to take me a while. For me the OHS is all about flexibility in my shoulders. I broke my upper arm and it healed wonky so one arm can go back a lot more than the other. Turning my knees out helps me
-
Good for you! I start getting nervous about box jumps around 8" from my max height
-
This is amazing! I've never heard of anything remotely this low.
-
That is great, congrats! For me Ive had bad rotator cuffs for years and couldnt even play catch with my kids. Recently I was able to do 15 pullups in a row. Good day for me
-
There are quite a few boxes near me all are close to what I pay: $165/mo. Expensive, but effective
-
Front squats are difficult for me because of wrist mobility but I'm still doing body weight+125lbs. I think just more volume with less weight, lots of plank type work and a heap of stretching.
-
I dont' think that is true. I think what you might be referring to is it's impossible for your total amount of weight to increase in caloric deficit (ie muscle + everything else). You CAN however have more pounds of muscle then you did before and weigh less because the muscle weight is a greater fraction of your total…

Nice work! I really hate burpees. I usually do them in sets of 10. I can do more in a row I just dont want to. I feel the same about thrusters
-
Excellent post. I would just add that everyone in our box is instructed to use just feet and hands....around the thigh sounds painful
-
You do crossfit which makes you amazing. You FINISHED which takes mental toughness. When I started crossfit would ruin the entire rest of my day. I'd just want to sleep. You'll get there!
-
Good for you. At this point occassionaly gluttony come far too easily for me.
-
My love/hate is the same WOD. Our box does one called "Haboob". WOD: “HABOOB” 45 Minute AMRAP (to be done with a Sandbag, 80#/40#) - 30 Sandbag Cleans to shoulder w/ Thruster to other shoulder - 400m Sandbag Carry - 20 Sandbag Get Ups - 400m Sandbag Carry - 40 Sandbag Step Ups (12″ / 18″, 20 each leg, 20 each shoulder) -…
-
Thats a good time..you must not have had to put the weight down to often.
-
I'm going to count yesterday's WOD as a victory even though my time wasn't great. I just wasn't feeling it and wanted it OVER. 50 thrusters with 115lbs 50 toes to bar 75 24" box jumps 30 hand stand push ups (I had to modfy these with a box as my shoulders just weren't having it at the end) 33min

Eating a couple hundred calories before I go is a MUST (I'm 219lbs though). I found a bit of carbs really helps too. So something like a handful of almonds and a piece of whole grain toast is good for me (I don't eat many grains, but before workouts I've found it really handy). My lunch is like at 10:30 and then I don't…
