I need 1,000,000,000 ab crunches right now. Sitting here in the office poking at the keyboard, burn any calories doing that?????? Still not raining here in WA today, so I think I'll mow the lawn after work if it isn't too dark, that'll burn some calories.

Welcome! I'm sure that you will find this site as motivating as I do. These people are so very supportive, there's nothing else like it.

Thanks. You're right healtier, I have to think positive, at least I wasn't there, it could have been a lot worse. There wasn't any idenity stuff there cmriverside, it was just a lot of stuff. I'm going to see my insurance agent this morning to see what I can claim. It's just a pain to do all that, and in the end my…

YUMMMM! The savory sounds great, I'm going to try it. Thanks for the recipe.

Hi Steve, Good luck with your stress test. I know you will be fine. We're all pulling for you. And in the end, you will get lots of information that will help.

Hey thanks cmriverside...I didn't know that soy is good for women in menopause. That explains a lot. Pookiecat, I understand the vegetarian thing and not losing weight. I use to eat meat...lost some weight, then went vegetarian thinking it would be better, but couldn't lose anymore. Then I changed back, but ate vegetarian…

Today was one of those rare days in the Great Northwest, the sun was out and it was in the high 60's, so I played hooky from work with my friend(shhhh), and went to the Bagby Hot Springs. Hiked 1 1/2 miles up to the hot springs, sat in the tub for a while, then hiked 1 1/2 miles back downhill. It was great. Did I say that…

Congratulations!!!!

Hey, there's more people from the Great Northwest here than I thought. I'm in Vancouver, WA. I grew up in Bellevue, WA, then lived in Seattle, WA and Federal Way, WA. What a small world...."Hey you Washingtonians!"
-
Hey time2wrk, I'm in Western WA too. When I posted that I went hiking on Saturday and I was outdoors, I didn't say that it was raining cats and dogs. I live in Vancouver, WA and I was hiking the Columbia Gorge. I was soaked to the bones when I got back. I climbed the stinkin' mountain and it felt so good. I had been…

Yesterday, a 2 hour hike up a mountain and went behind a waterfall, it was so beautiful. Today 1 1/2 hour kick boxing. Now I'll go do some housework, I've been playing too much.

Hi Loretta Jo, Wow, 171 pounds, that's fantastic. And even more fantastic is that you kept it off for 3 years. What a good reason to keep logging food in even after we get to our goal weight. You are truly an inspiration to us. Welcome and I hope to learn from you.
-
Hi Kimberly, Welcome. I'm sure that you will find the support that you need on this site to lose your last 20 pounds. Everyone here is very supportive. Good luck to you.
-
Sugarbear, don't beat yourself up, just dust it off and go on, you can't undo what is done. Just be sure to learn from it. We all fall off the wagon at times, YOU...my friend, is just brave enough to admit it.

Hi Mike, I totally agree with what you just posted. I think that the links are important because we are just sharing informtion that we have found useful and important to us. But I have to say that the crosscrunch thing was over done, the first day that I got into this forum and started reading the posts, I thought that…

Welcome Steve, I know you will enjoy everyone on this site as much as I do. Everyone is so supportive here, we're all working toward the same goal...healthier in the end. It sounds like you have the best motivation to do this...your three year old. It's great that you want to do this for him so that you will be around to…

Congratulations!!!!!! You deserve a hand. I am a survivor myself and have been cancer free for over 2 years. One of the many reasons to shed the extra bodyfat, there will be less chance of future health problems. It sounds like you have been on a incredible journey, and it took you here to help motivate us...that's…

Hi healthierdsr, I think your problem is that you are not happy with your body composition, your weight seems fine. I have the same problem, I weight more than people think that I do due to the lean muscle mass that I carry. I work out a lot and use to be a competitive powerlifter, so I carry more muscles than most people,…

Hi chrissi, I think you've come to the right place. The people here are very support and do not judge each other. These are some of the most supportive people that I've ever run into. I'm sure that you ARE a beautiful person, and it is very unfortunate that we live in a society that values outter beauty over inner beauty.…

Healthier_me - 3 pounds to go...you ROCK. I can't wait till I only have 3 pounds to go. It's been a year and I'm still not there yet. Although I pulled up some pictures of myself a year ago and put them side by side with recent pictures, I could not believe the difference. Why can't I see it when I look in the mirror. I…

Hi Ileana, I just recently joined this site to help loose the rest of my poundage as well. I've lost over 50 pounds and now I'm stuck just like you. I'm hoping that this will help me with the last of it. Good luck to you and let's keep each other motivated.
-
Hi Liz & Charlotte, Welcome and good luck to you. I joined not too long ago and found a lot of inspiration here, I've never had so much support. I hope you find it as wonderful as I do.

I understand not wanting to workout, but I make myself do it, and after about 10 minutes the endorphins will start kicking in and you will be glad that you made the effort. And after a couple of weeks of it, when you can see the results, you will start to enjoy going to workout. Believe me, we've all been there. Good luck…

Good carbs are great for energy, just make sure it's veggies, fruit or whole grains. Be careful of the fruits though, you want to limit them as the sugar content his much higher than veggies. Sounds like you're going down the right path. Great job!

Congrats kimford28. And I really don't think that you'll gain the weight that you think you will. We're all developing good lifetime habits here. I plan to stay on this for a while even after I get to my goals. I want to be able to maintain for a few months before I relax about it

If you're exercising a lot, your body is going to need the extra calories. What I would do is not to eat all the extras, but you do need some. If you don't take in enough calories, your body is going to think that you are starving it and your metabolism will start to slow...exactly what you don't want it to do. If you're…
