while on pain medication you should always have a bowel regimen. Stool softeners/and or laxative. There are several over the counter products. Docusate (softener) and docusate w/ Senna (softener/laxative). There is also bisacodyl (laxative) that you can take w/ stoof softener.

fruits and vegetables are not zero carbs

and eat your excercise calories back - at least 1/2

I am also same age. If you open your diary I can take a look. I truly think MFP sets all ppl at 1200 regardless and it isn't for everybody, also, the closer you get to goal it slows down and you need to up your calories. Have you done any of the calculators? The BMR and TDEE are pretty helpful and you will see that 1200 is…

If I had to guess I would say you are not eating enough. I was in plateau for 2 months on 1200/day. Upped my calories and it worked, started losing again.

Yep. I take Voltaren (diclofenac) its an n-said. Ibuprofen over time will cause ulcers and kidney damage -you need to see a Dr.
-
Same issues - worn cartilage, arthritis - orthopedic Dr. and Physical Theraprist said no running!!!! Elliptical and swimming only. Will damage knees more with running
-
Just turned 50 and have same issues. Slower rate of losing, but thats ok with me. I'm not in a hurry. I would rather do it slowly so it becomes a lifestyle and not a diet. Also, the faster you lose your skin cant catch up so it gets saggy. I weight lift also, helps with definition. Good luck

Lots of good advice on getting all the thyroid levels checked. One thing also, how do you sleep? Sleep Apnea can be the culprit in energy, weight gain, daytime sleepiness. A sleep study may be worth looking into.

Why do you feel the need to correct grammar especially when someone has just poured their heart out. Ego issues?
-
Thats what I do also. I have arthritis in knees and elliptical is only thing I can do besides swim. I also do weights 3x week. I have noticed my elliptical at gym calories are quite a bit less than what MFP gives. I go with the gym calories as MFP doesn't differentiate the intensity or my weight as the gym one does.

I think the key words I read were - I never hit my calories. Are you not eating all your calories, including your excercise calories? You need a minimum amount of calories to be efficient in losing weight, eating below only slows or stops the process.

I have familial high cholesterol as well. Have been on a statin for 20 yrs. My 20yr old daughter inherited it as well and she is a size 2. My numbers have never been in the acceptable range , but are much improved w/ higher dose Lipitor , excercise and weight loss. Keep it up.
-
You sound alot like me in the weight loss/ fitness area. I forget to count the other victories besides the number on the scale. Where my body has taken me in the last 7 months , the improvements in how I sleep/ and feel and look. Thanks for the encouragement. You keep it up too!.

ditto me too. the closer I am the slower its going

hard boiled eggs, yogurt , string cheese

Thanks guys. Good to know there are others out there. Yes slow and steady is fine - just had to vent

I think there are bigger issues here. And it has nothing to do with your trainer. Your trainer could be anybody in your life. A co-worker, someone that you spend time with other than him. Do not let your husbands insecurites and jealousy stop you from achieving your goal.

I also have been bad about not tracking my vegetables. I eat broccoli most nights for dinner, tomatoes for lunch. I will do better with that , Salads frequently. I haven't logged them cause they don't count much towards calories.
-
Thank you. yes I do drink lots of water, I just don't track it. I also eat an egg every day in the morning for protein as well as the peanut butter. I have worked at liking Greek yogurt, but just can't tolerate it. Am now eating regular. I will work on your suggestions. Thank you!!.

I'm sorry, you lost 6 lbs in one week and now complaining that the next week you didn't lose any? Thats an average of 3 lbs per week. Thats more than the 1lb a week recommended. Its a long term thing and you take the average lbs lost.... doesn't happen by the book I can tell you from experience. Everybody is different so…

Never ate there again after pink slime story emerged. Don't care if they have since said they don't use it any longer. Gross

Diet Coke is like crack to me. I swear they put something in it. I have gone off a couple times and substituted unsweet tea. I may give it another try.

Awesome job. Your eyes look brighter!!

How about me. Will be 50 in 3 wks. Could use some friends around my age as well.

You have to eat your excercise calories. You didn't mention if you were doing that. If you are not then you are in a deficit so weight loss will be slow. Anyway 5 lbs in 8 weeks is not bad. You should lose about 1 lb per week. Try adding back your excercise calories and eat those and you may see a difference. Keep with it…
