• I eat a ton of veggies every day. I buy my celery, red peppers, cucumbers and carrots over the weekend. I cut them up and put them in snack bags. Each morning, all I have to do is grab the snack bags and off to work I go. They are the perfect snack. I don't eat as much fruit as I should. This time of year bananas and…
• My heart rate was generally in the 140 - 150 range. I just saw a exercise physiologist when I had my physical a couple of weeks ago and she calculated the ranges that my heart range should be in when I exercised. For me, I get the best benefit when I am in the 135-145 range. Anything over 152 or so gives my no extra…
• Day 2, Week 1 of my hybrid: Plyo completed this morning. Burned 400 calories. I think going through Insanity really helped me with this workout. For most of the sequences, I was still going strong when the time was up.
• Started my hybrid round this morning. Chest & back (will do Abx tonight). I forgot how many pushups there are in this session. Holy cow. I think I did pretty good. I concentrated on my form versus quantity (tried to go really low in the pushups). Pull ups are still my downfall but I tried to less help from my leg on the…
• Sorry to hear that you're not a fan of BB. Just my opinion, but I don't think any exercise DVD "promises" you anything. You get out of it you put into it.
• I'm starting a hybrid round tomorrow (P90X/Insanity). I've done 2 rounds of P90X (one lean and one classic) and one round of Insanity. I agree that the best thing about MFP (or one of the best things) is the encouragement you get from everyone.
• Thanks. I was thinking that was how you did it (but it seemed too simple - lol). I need to be at 128-129 pounds so my goal of 130 getting to 130 wasn't that far off.
• Replies are never too long. The more detail the better. How did you calculate your target weight? I just had my body/fat percentage calculated and I know my lean body mass index. I am at 25.4% right now and would like to get to 20%. I'm a little confused as to what weight I should be at.
• I have only done P90X and Insanity but in my opinion, P90X gave my the most results (weight loss and muscle tone). Of course this many be due to the fact that I did two rounds of P90X and only one round of Insanity and I did P90X first so I had more to lose at that time. From a pure calorie burn, I would say that Insanity…
• VHS??? Hell, I remember 8-Tracks (barely, but I remember them). :noway:
• Wearing the CD's out???? Now that is hardcore. Good for you. I did Core Synergistics this morning. Haven't done this workout in a while. It was fun to hear Tony saying, "superman, banana, superman....." My plan is to get in a short run at lunch as well.
• I did take photes when I first started. I guess I need to take some now since I've finished Insanity. Maybe I'll post them when I hit my one year anniversary of doing the BB programs.
• I agree with you on this. I used to go out to their message boards but they are pretty stale.
• Hey everyone!!! Glad to see there are so many BB fans out there. Can't believe the number of responses so far to this thread. As you can see from my signature, I've done 2 rounds of P90X (lean then classic) and just finished my first round of insanity (finished this morning in fact). Next up for me is a P90X/Insanity…
• Well I finished my round of Insanity. Took me two extra weeks but I completed it. Hope those of you who were on this thread at one point or another kept at it. On to my P90X/Insanity hybrid.......
• Based on your comment, I would stay away from Insanity. The program is full of "plank type" exercises.
• I have my last Insanity workout tomorrow, YEAH. Keep with it - if you have to miss a day its okay, just keep doing it. It's taken me an extra 2 weeks to complete the 63 days but I don't think it's lessened my sense of accomplishment. You'll be amazed at how much higher you can jump at the end. My advice is to wear a HRM…
• We are having butternut squash soup as an appetizer and then having horseradish crusted beef tenderloin, honey-glazed carrots and mashed potatoes. Plenty of christmas cookies for dessert.
• I don't have time before my a.m. workout to eat a full meal and then leave time for it to digest. I usually eat a 1/2 banana and that seems to give me enough fuel to get through the workout without upsetting my stomach. If I don't workout in the morning, I do it lunch - same thing though, I usually eat something light a…
• I think each program has their pros and cons. I have done two rounds of P90X (first did the lean version and then did the classic version) and I have a couple more weeks left to complete insanity. I agree that although insanity is mostly cardio, there is a ton of upper body exercises that requires you to have some strength…
• Egg whites - they are filling, packed with protein and have very few calories. Have 3/4 cup to 1 cup of egg whites scrambled and an english muffin (I prefer Thomas better start) for only 230 calories or so.
• Great victories by all. My latest NSV was having to tighten the chest strap for the HRM. :drinker:
•
We did Max Interval Circuit this morning. I burned 649 calories. I've come to the realization that the Max workouts will NEVER get easier. Geesh!!!
Well I guess if the workouts got easy we would have to find something else to do.
• Anybody here?????? Started month 2. Two workouts done and month 2 definitely kicks it up a notch from month 1. Keep at it......the days will go by whether you do the workouts or not so you mind as well do them.
• Oh boy....Max Plyo this morning. That was a serious workout. I already feel my shoulders from the pushups etc. I can see where month 2 is going to kick my butt. Feels good though and I'm determined to finish strong. Put on a couple of pounds since my last weigh in (too much beer over the past week) but I'm convinced those…
• Insanity max workouts started this morning with interval circuit training. This second month is definitely going to be harder than the first month but I'm up for the challenge. Burned 456 calories. Added bonus is I think I have to tighten the chest strap for my HRM. :drinker:
• Hi everyone. Been out of town all week.....fell a little off the wagon but all in all I didn't too bad for a holiday week. Back at it tomorrow morning. Technically I am in my recovery week between month 1 and 2 but I feel the need for a little more calorie burn so I'm gonna do plyo cardio tomorrow morning. Official start…
• Nice job with the weighted vest. The Browns may need you on defense! No pure cardio this morning (had to stop at a market to pick up fresh turkeys early this morning before work). Ran at lunch instead. 60 minutes on that treadmill, burned 536 calories.
• Back on track. Did a double workout this morning - cardio power & resistance followed with plyo circuit. I was gassed at the end but I am back on schedule!!!!
